Providence Healthcare is a health care facility in Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, specializing in rehabilitation for patients who have experienced strokes, orthopaedic surgery, or lower limb amputation, or who require specialized geriatric rehabilitation, assessment and treatment. It also provides long-term care and community outreach for individuals with geriatric conditions.

The House of Providence is a Roman Catholic charitable institution in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada that has been active since 1857. Commissioned by Armand-François-Marie de Charbonnel, the second Roman Catholic Bishop of Toronto, the institution provides help to "the needy, the immigrants, the old, the invalid, and destitute". The House of Providence's original building on Power Street, just south of the St. Paul's Basilica, was for many years a landmark in the city of Toronto. Designed by architect William Hay, construction on the building began in 1855 and was completed in 1858. The organization began to use the building in 1857 after the majority of the construction was completed. In 1962 the building was demolished after an order from the city was given declaring the need for space for the Richmond Street ramp of the Don Valley Parkway to be built. At that time the ministry was relocated to its current location at Providence Villa and Hospital in Scarborough.

Dawes Road Cemetery is a Jewish cemetery in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is located in Scarborough, on St. Clair Avenue east of Victoria Park Avenue. Established in 1903, it was the third Jewish cemetery in Toronto. The first cemeteries, the Pape Avenue Cemetery and Jones Avenue Cemetery, had been established in the eastern part of the city. Dawes Road Cemetery was also placed in what was then a rural area on the edge of the city. Since then some 13,000 people have been buried there, including 11 Canadian servicemen of World War II whose graves are registered by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

W. A. Porter Collegiate Institute, officially known as the Scarborough Academy of Technological, Environmental and Computer Studies @ W. A. Porter Collegiate Institute (SATEC, SATEC @ W. A. Porter C.I., WAPCI, W. A. Porter or Porter) is a secondary school located in Scarborough, Toronto, Ontario, Canada serving grades 9-12 as part of the Toronto District School Board, formerly part of the Scarborough Board of Education. Founded in 1958, the school program combines academics with in-depth applications of technology, computer and environmental studies. SATEC is an enriched science, technology, engineering and mathematics focused school. It is consistently ranked #1 in Toronto for Technological Studies, and within the top three for Math and Science. Clairlea is a neighbourhood of Scarborough, in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The neighbourhood is located in the western part of Scarborough just east of Victoria Park Avenue. To the north it is bounded by Eglinton Avenue and to the south by Taylor-Massey Creek and the railway tracks. The neighborhood is served by Warden station and the Don Valley Parkway. A large portion of Clairlea-Birchmount is taken up by shopping centres, the Eglinton Square Shopping Centre and other large retail developments along what was once Scarborough’s old Golden Mile of Industry on Eglinton Avenue.

The Toronto East Detention Centre, often simply referred to as The East, is a remand facility located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, in the former borough of Scarborough. It is located to the southwest of Eglinton Avenue and Birchmount Road. The facility was known as the Metropolitan Toronto East Detention Centre until the Metropolitan Municipality of Toronto was amalgamated in 1998. It is notably mentioned in the song "Informer" by Canadian reggae fusion artist Snow, becoming one of the biggest hit singles of 1993.

Oakridge is a neighbourhood in the city of Toronto, Canada, in the Scarborough district. The community neighbours Birch Cliff to the south, Danforth Village to the east and Cliffside to the west edging onto the Scarborough Bluffs. The neighbourhood is bordered by Victoria Park Avenue to the west, Massey Creek to the north, Warden Avenue to the east travelling south until Mack Avenue which then extends east again to the CNR rail line which forms the southern border.

The Golden Mile is a commercial district in the Scarborough district of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Situated along Eglinton Avenue East, east of Victoria Park Avenue, it was one of Canada's first model industrial parks. The original Golden Mile of Industry ran along Eglinton from Pharmacy Avenue east to Birchmount Road. The area was farmland prior to World War II with settlement by Scottish immigrants beginning in the 1820s (notably by the likes of the McCowans and Thompsons) and prior to settlements by Europeans in the late 18th century was mostly covered by forests.

Golden Mile is a surface light rail transit (LRT) stop under construction on Line 5 Eglinton, a new line that is part of the Toronto subway system. It will be located in the Golden Mile neighbourhood at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue and Warden Avenue. It is scheduled to open in 2022.The stop is located in the middle of Eglinton Avenue East at its intersection with Warden Avenue. The stop has far-side platforms with access to each platform from the adjacent north/south pedestrian crossing at the signalized intersection. This staggered configuration means the westbound platform will be located west of the intersection, and the eastbound platform will be situated east of the intersection.During the planning stages for Line 5 Eglinton, the station was given the working name "Warden" the same as for the pre-existing Warden station on Line 2 Bloor–Danforth. On November 23, 2015, a report to the TTC Board recommended giving a unique name to each station in the subway system (including Line 5 Eglinton). Thus, this stop was renamed to "Golden Mile" after the neighbourhood where it is located. Note that three other stops west of this stop are also in the Golden Mile neighbourhood: O'Connor, Pharmacy and Hakimi Lebovic.

Victoria Park is a station on Line 2 Bloor–Danforth of the Toronto subway system. It is located at 777 Victoria Park Avenue, one block north of Danforth Avenue in Scarborough. The station can be accessed by pedestrians directly from Victoria Park Avenue; by way of an unmanned entrance from Albion Avenue; through an automated entrance from Teesdale Place; and via a walkway that leads to the nearby Crescent Town area. A City of Toronto bicycle station is located adjacent to the main Victoria Park Avenue entrance, providing a paid secure indoor bicycle parking area.

Birchmount is a surface light rail transit (LRT) stop under construction on Line 5 Eglinton, a new line that is part of the Toronto subway system. It will be located in the Ionview neighbourhood at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue and Birchmount Road. It is scheduled to open in 2022.The stop is located in the middle of Eglinton Avenue on the east side of its intersection with Birchmount Road. The stop has side platforms which will be accessed from the pedestrian crossing on the east side of the signalized street intersection. On the east side of this stop, there are two separate crossovers, one trailing point and the other facing point.

Scarborough Van Assembly was a vehicle manufacturing plant owned by General Motors Canada in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, which opened in 1952 to build Frigidaire refrigerators. Vehicle production began in 1974. It was located in Golden Mile, between Victoria Park Avenue and Warden Avenue. The plant employed 2,800 workers before closing in 1993. The site is now a retail shopping mall, known as Eglinton Town Centre.
