Golden Mile, Toronto

Golden Mile is a surface light rail transit (LRT) stop under construction on Line 5 Eglinton, a new line that is part of the Toronto subway system. It will be located in the Golden Mile neighbourhood at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue and Warden Avenue. It is scheduled to open in 2022.The stop is located in the middle of Eglinton Avenue East at its intersection with Warden Avenue. The stop has far-side platforms with access to each platform from the adjacent north/south pedestrian crossing at the signalized intersection. This staggered configuration means the westbound platform will be located west of the intersection, and the eastbound platform will be situated east of the intersection.During the planning stages for Line 5 Eglinton, the station was given the working name "Warden" the same as for the pre-existing Warden station on Line 2 Bloor–Danforth. On November 23, 2015, a report to the TTC Board recommended giving a unique name to each station in the subway system (including Line 5 Eglinton). Thus, this stop was renamed to "Golden Mile" after the neighbourhood where it is located. Note that three other stops west of this stop are also in the Golden Mile neighbourhood: O'Connor, Pharmacy and Hakimi Lebovic.

Hakimi Lebovic is a surface light rail transit (LRT) stop under construction on Line 5 Eglinton, a new line that is part of the Toronto subway system. It will be located in the Golden Mile neighbourhood at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue and Lebovic and Hakimi Avenues. It is scheduled to open in 2022.

Scarborough Van Assembly was a vehicle manufacturing plant owned by General Motors Canada in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, which opened in 1952 to build Frigidaire refrigerators. Vehicle production began in 1974. It was located in Golden Mile, between Victoria Park Avenue and Warden Avenue. The plant employed 2,800 workers before closing in 1993. The site is now a retail shopping mall, known as Eglinton Town Centre.

The facility was known as the Metropolitan Toronto East Detention Centre until the Metropolitan Municipality of Toronto was amalgamated in 1998. It is notably mentioned in the song "Informer" by Canadian reggae fusion artist Snow, becoming one of the biggest hit singles of 1993.

It is scheduled to open in 2022.The stop is located in the middle of Eglinton Avenue on the east side of its intersection with Pharmacy Avenue and has parallel side platforms which will be accessed from the pedestrian crossing on the east side of the signalized street intersection. Between this stop and the Hakimi Lebovic stop to the east, there are two separate crossovers, one trailing point and the other facing point.

It will be located in the Ionview neighbourhood at the intersection of Eglinton Avenue and Birchmount Road. It is scheduled to open in 2022.The stop is located in the middle of Eglinton Avenue on the east side of its intersection with Birchmount Road. The stop has side platforms which will be accessed from the pedestrian crossing on the east side of the signalized street intersection. On the east side of this stop, there are two separate crossovers, one trailing point and the other facing point.

Eglinton Square Shopping Centre is an enclosed shopping mall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, located at Eglinton Avenue East and Victoria Park Avenue in Scarborough's Golden Mile neighbourhood. It opened in 1954 as a strip plaza, like most retail space at the time, and was later converted to mall. It was notable for having a parking garage attached to Morgans department store, with a steep winding ramp. Morgan's was bought by the Hudson's Bay Company and eventually became a Bay. The garage was demolished. The main shopping centre still has two 1960s style ramps that provide two levels of parking on top of the stores. The top most level is the roof of the building and also provides open air parking spaces. It is owned by Kingsett Capital and under the management of Bentall Kennedy (Canada) LP. It has approximately 279,000 sq ft (25,900 m2) of retail space with over 80 retail outlets. The mall is located on what was once the site of James Neilson's farm. The shopping centre is slated for major redevelopment, with high density condo buildings as part of the mix, due to the Eglinton Crosstown LRT that is being built along Eglinton Avenue.

The House of Providence is a Roman Catholic charitable institution in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada that has been active since 1857. Commissioned by Armand-François-Marie de Charbonnel, the second Roman Catholic Bishop of Toronto, the institution provides help to "the needy, the immigrants, the old, the invalid, and destitute". The House of Providence's original building on Power Street, just south of the St. Paul's Basilica, was for many years a landmark in the city of Toronto. Designed by architect William Hay, construction on the building began in 1855 and was completed in 1858. The organization began to use the building in 1857 after the majority of the construction was completed. In 1962 the building was demolished after an order from the city was given declaring the need for space for the Richmond Street ramp of the Don Valley Parkway to be built. At that time the ministry was relocated to its current location at Providence Villa and Hospital in Scarborough.

Clairlea is a neighbourhood of Scarborough, in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The neighbourhood is located in the western part of Scarborough just east of Victoria Park Avenue. To the north it is bounded by Eglinton Avenue and to the south by Taylor-Massey Creek and the railway tracks. The neighborhood is served by Warden station and the Don Valley Parkway. A large portion of Clairlea-Birchmount is taken up by shopping centres, the Eglinton Square Shopping Centre and other large retail developments along what was once Scarborough’s old Golden Mile of Industry on Eglinton Avenue.
