Bald Peak State Scenic Viewpoint

The Chehalem Mountains are a mountain range located in the Willamette Valley in the U.S. state of Oregon. Forming the southern boundary of the Tualatin Valley, the Chehalems are the highest mountains in the Willamette Valley. The range extends from the Willamette River east of Newberg northwest to the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range south of Forest Grove.

Bald Peak is a mountain top and highest point in the Chehalem Mountains in the Northwest area of the U.S. state of Oregon. Located in Yamhill County near the county line with Washington County, the summit at 1624+ feet (495+ m) is the highest point in the Willamette Valley. Bald Peak State Scenic Viewpoint is a 26-acre (11 ha) state park located on the peak.

Laurelwood is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Oregon, United States. The community is located southwest of the Portland metropolitan area near Oregon Route 47 along Laurelwood Road, to the east of the city of Gaston and Wapato Lake. Laurelwood, a farming community, has a population of approximately 500 people. Settled in the 1860s, the community was home to Laurelwood Academy from 1904 until 2007. A large portion of the community is of the Seventh-day Adventist faith.

The Ribbon Ridge AVA is an American Viticultural Area in Yamhill County, Oregon. It is the smallest AVA in Oregon and is entirely contained within the Chehalem Mountains AVA, which in turn is entirely contained within the larger Willamette Valley AVA. Ribbon Ridge stretches between the towns of Newberg and Gaston. The ridge is defined by local geographic boundaries and an uplift of ocean sediment. It lies at 45° 21' N latitude and 123° 04' W longitude, at the northwest end of the Chehalem Mountains. Colby Carter, an early settler from Missouri, named Ribbon Ridge in 1865, and the ridge has been known by that name ever since. The first official use of the Ribbon Ridge name dates to 1888 with the creation of Ribbon Ridge School District No. 68. The ridge is approximately 0.25 miles (0.40 km) wide and 3.50 miles (5.63 km) long, and is 3,350 acres (1,356 ha) in area, with 500 acres (202 ha) planted on 20 vineyards. It is estimated that between 1,000 acres (405 ha) and 1,400 acres (567 ha) in the region is suitable for planting.

The Willamette Valley AVA ( wi-LAM-it) is an American Viticultural Area which lies in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. The AVA is the wine growing region which encompasses the drainage basin of the Willamette River. It stretches from the Columbia River in the north to just south of Eugene in the south, where the Willamette Valley ends; and from the Oregon Coast Range in the west to the Cascade Mountains in the east. At 5,360 square miles (13,900 km2), it is the largest AVA in the state, and contains most of the state's wineries; approximately 908 as of 2021. The boundaries of the Willamette Valley AVA were established in 1984. Since then, ten smaller AVAs (sometimes termed "sub-AVAs" or "sub-appellations") have been created entirely within the Willamette Valley AVA, with nine of them in the northern Willamette Valley and the Lower Long Tom AVA in the south. The Willamette Valley has a cool, moist climate, and is recognized worldwide for its Pinot noir.Although this distinction is not officially recognized, many wine connoisseurs further divide the Willamette Valley into northern and southern regions, the dividing line being the approximate latitude of Salem (approximately 45° north latitude).

J. S. and Melinda Waggener Farmstead is a farm located in Cornelius, Washington County, Oregon. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Chehalem Ridge Nature Park is a 1,260 acres (510 ha) nature park in the Portland metropolitan area in the U.S. state of Oregon. Opened in 2021, the park is owned and operated by Metro, the regional government in the Oregon portion of the metro area. This is despite that the park is located outside the regional government's boundary. The park is named after the Chehalem Mountains, where the park is located. The park is located off Dixon Mill Road, east of Gaston between Oregon Route 47 and Oregon Route 219.

Laurel is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Oregon, United States. Settled in 1872, the community is located between Hillsboro and Newberg, in the southern portion of the Tualatin Valley in the foothills of the Chehalem Mountains. The community retains its agricultural heritage. Laurel is served by the Hillsboro School District and includes the century-old Laurel Valley Store building, which is in the process of being turned into a restaurant. As an unincorporated community, Laurel has no defined boundaries or population statistics of its own.

Chehalem Airpark (FAA LID: 17S), is a public airport located 4 miles (6.4 km) northwest of Newberg, in Yamhill County, Oregon, USA.

Wapato Lake is a restored historic lake located in what became parts of Washington County and Yamhill County in the U.S. state of Oregon. The area was sometimes known as Wapato Lake Bed and Wapato Flat. The lake is located about a half mile east of Gaston at 55 metres (180 ft) elevation. The lake bed soils contain a layer of organic peat that once supported a wetland community dominated by the wapato plant, Sagittaria latifolia, particularly in the upper marsh areas. Wapato plants were reintroduced to the restored lake by tribal people from the Grand Ronde Reservation in preparation for the opening of the Wapato Lake National Wildlife Refuge in March 2023.

Blooming is an unincorporated community in Washington County, Oregon, United States near the Tualatin River, about two miles south of Cornelius. Its elevation is 190 feet (58 m). There are several plant nurseries in the area. The Blooming area was originally known as "the German Settlement" for a group of German immigrants who had settled there. Rev. Paul of St. Peter's Lutheran Church renamed the community "Blooming", for the area's flowers and as an indicator of the town's good prospects. Blooming post office ran from 1895 to 1904.The center of the community was St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church, which is the second-oldest congregation of the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod in the Pacific Northwest. The church was founded and the original church building constructed in 1882; a portion of the current church was built in 1923.Blooming has a Cornelius ZIP code.

Scoggins Creek, formerly known as "Scoggin Creek", is a 19-mile (31 km) tributary of the Tualatin River in Tillamook and Washington counties in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is named for pioneer settler Gustavus Scoggin.Surrounded by lava and basalt flows and layers of sandstone, it flows generally southeast from near South Saddle Mountain in the Northern Oregon Coast Range and through a 1,700-foot (520 m)-wide valley to Henry Hagg Lake, an impoundment of Scoggins Dam. Just downstream from the lake, the creek empties into the Tualatin River about 20 miles (32 km) west of Portland, at an elevation of 171 feet (52 m). The creek enters the Tualatin River 60 miles (97 km) upstream of the Tualatin's confluence with the Willamette River.The five named tributaries of Scoggins Creek from source to mouth are Fisher, Parsons, Wall, Tanner, and Sain creeks. Wall, Tanner, and Sain enter at Hagg Lake.
