Shorinzan Daruma Temple (少林山達磨寺, shōrinzan daruma-ji) is a small temple located in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture. It was built in 1697 by the Obaku school of Zen Buddhism. Takasaki is known as the birthplace of daruma, as it is believed that the dolls originated from the region many years ago. The daruma of Shorinzan are said to be especially lucky, leading the city's PR department to dub Takasaki as The Lucky Town.

Narusawa Dam is an earthfill dam located in Gunma Prefecture in Japan. The dam is used for irrigation. The catchment area of the dam is 2 km2. The dam impounds about 16 ha of land when full and can store 1283 thousand cubic meters of water. The construction of the dam was started on 1947 and completed in 1949.

The University of Creation; Art, Music & Social Work (創造学園大学, Sōzō Gakuen Daigaku), sometimes called Souzou Gakuen University was a private university in Takasaki, Gunma, Japan, established in 2004. The president of the school was Daitetsu Koike.On 28 March 2013, the university was ordered to close by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology for violating the Private Schools Act.

Kita-Takasaki Station (北高崎駅, Kita-Takasaki-eki) is a passenger railway station in the city of Takasaki, Gunma, Japan, operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East).

The 1566 siege of Minowa was one of several battles fought by the Takeda clan in their campaigns to seize the lands of the Uesugi clan, during Japan's Sengoku period. It is part of a larger power struggle between Takeda Shingen and Uesugi Kenshin.Some years before, Nagano Narimasa, lord of Minowa castle and faithful retainer to the Uesugi, died. In order to protect the region from the depredations of the Takeda, the Nagano family kept his death a secret until his heir could settle into power. The Takeda attacked in 1566, and were held off for a time, with the young heir, Nagano Narimori, and famous swordsman Kamiizumi Hidetsuna, leading the defense. Intense hand-to-hand fighting eventually led to Hidetsuna leading a bold charge from the castle, which was initially successful. However, Narimori was killed soon afterwards, and the castle fell.

Niijima Gakuen Junior College (新島学園短期大学, Niijima gakuen tanki daigaku) is a private junior college in Takasaki, Gunma, Japan. Originally established as a women's junior college in 1983, it became co-educational in 2004.

Takasaki (高崎市, Takasaki-shi, [takasakiɕi]) is a city located in Gunma Prefecture, Japan. As of 31 August 2020, the city had an estimated population of 372,369 in 167,345 households, and a population density of 810 persons per km². The total area of the city is 459.16 square kilometres (177.28 sq mi). Takasaki is famous as the hometown of the Daruma doll, theoretically representing the Buddhist sage Bodhidharma and in modern practice a symbol of good luck. Takaski has been the largest city in Gunma Prefecture since 1990 after beating Maebashi.
