Ettringen, Mayen-Koblenz

The Ettringer Bellerberg, also called the Ettringer Bellberg, is a hill, 427.5 m above sea level (NHN), forming the western flank of the Bellerberg Volcano, a volcano system that was active about 200,000 years ago.

The Hochstein (also called the Kalberg or Kahler Berg and, formerly, the Forstberg) is a volcanic cone, 563 m above sea level (NHN), in the Eifel near Obermendig in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate and county of Mayen-Koblenz.

The Bellerberg Volcano (German: Bellerberg-Vulkan) is a volcano group that was formed 200,000 years ago by a large number of individual eruptions.

The Hochsimmer is a volcanic cone, 587.9 m above sea level (NHN), in the Eifel Mountains in Germany. It rises near Ettringen in the Rhineland-Palatine county of Mayen-Koblenz. At the summit is an observation tower, the Hochsimmer Tower.

Mayen is a town in the Mayen-Koblenz District of the Rhineland-Palatinate Federal State of Germany, in the eastern part of the Volcanic Eifel Region. As well as the main town, additional settlements include Alzheim, Kürrenberg, Hausen-Betzing, Hausen and Nitztal. Mayen is the administrative centre of the Vordereifel ‘Collective Municipality’, although it is not part of the municipality.

Vordereifel is a Verbandsgemeinde ("collective municipality") in the district of Mayen-Koblenz, in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is situated on the eastern edge of the Eifel, west of Mayen. Sankt Johann is a municipality in the district of Mayen-Koblenz in Rhineland-Palatinate, western Germany.

Genovevaburg is a castle standing on the southwestern side of Mayen in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The castle is the symbol of Mayen and has been rebuilt several times since first being destroyed in 1689. Its name comes from a legend, according to which the seats of counts palatine, Siegfried and his wife, Genevieve of Brabant (German: Genoveva), were supposed to be on the same hill in (or above) Mayen. The earliest references linking the legend to this region date to the 17th century. Since when the castle and its bergfried, the so-called Golo Tower (Goloturm), have been linked to the legend is unknown.

Bell is a municipality in the district of Mayen-Koblenz in Rhineland-Palatinate, western Germany.

Kottenheim is a municipality in the district of Mayen-Koblenz in Rhineland-Palatinate, western Germany.

Goose Neck Tower (Gänsehalsturm) is an 87-metre concrete radio tower near Bell and Mendig in Western Germany. Built in 1976, it serves as an internal radio relay link for German electric and natural gas public utility company RWE. Goose Neck Tower is one of RWE's few radio towers built in concrete. At the height of 24 meters, there is an observation deck open to tourists. It is named after the mountain where it is located: Gänsehals ("Goose Neck").

Bürresheim Castle (German: Schloss Bürresheim) is a medieval castle northwest of Mayen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. It is built on rock in the Eifel mountains above the Nette. Bürresheim Castle, Eltz Castle and Lissingen Castle are the only castles in the Eifel region which have never been destroyed. It was inhabited until 1921 and is now a museum operated by the General Directorate for Cultural Heritage Rhineland-Palatinate.
