Green, Ohio

Green High School is a public high school in Green, Ohio, just south of Akron, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Green Local School District. The school colors are orange and black, the athletic teams are known as the Bulldogs, and since 2015 have competed in the OHSAA's Federal League. The current facility opened in 1996.

Singer Lake Bog is a 344-acre nature preserve in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is owned by the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. With more than fifty acres of leatherleaf bog, it is the largest of its kind in the state of Ohio. Within the nature preserve is a five acre kettle lake bog that features tamarack, poison sumac, cranberries, northern purple pitcher plant, round-leaved sundew and sphagnum. It is located in southern Summit County near the city of Green, Ohio.

The MAPS Air Museum is an aviation museum in Green, Ohio, United States. Run by the Military Aviation Preservation Society, it is located off SR241 on the west side of the Akron-Canton Regional Airport.The museum holds more than 50 aircraft, most on loan from the U.S. Air Force or Navy for restoration. It also has two aircraft from the Goodyear Rubber Company. The aircraft are displayed in a former U.S. Air National Guard hangar and on an adjacent tarmac. Its collection of rare artifacts includes the gondola from the "Spirit of Akron", a Goodyear blimp. The museum's Gallery of Heroes room holds detailed models and period items from wars. Various displays highlight Pearl Harbor (artifacts include a piece of the battleship Arizona), The Tuskegee Airmen, Rosie the Riveter, and include items on loan from members of the museum and community who fought in wars. The museum's library maintains and preserves institutional records and collects, preserves, and makes available images, literature, manuscripts, memoirs, diaries, books, and oral histories relating to military history. The library collection is open to the public with admission to the museum. Members may check books out.

Comet Lake is a private reservoir in Summit County, Ohio, located within the city of Green, at 40°55′14″N 81°31′20″W. The community of Comet sits on the northwestern end of the lake. The lake drains over the Comet Lake Dam into the upper Tuscarawas River by way of Nimisila Creek.

Akron–Canton Airport (IATA: CAK, ICAO: KCAK, FAA LID: CAK) is a commercial airport in the city of Green, in southern Summit County, Ohio (a small piece of each runway is in Stark County), about 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Akron. It is jointly operated by Summit County and Stark County. The airport is a "reliever" airport for Northeast Ohio and markets itself as "A better way to go", emphasizing the ease of travel in comparison to Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. Just under 90% of its traffic is general aviation. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2019–2023, in which it is categorized as a small-hub primary commercial service facility.The 2300-acre (931-hectare) airport has two runways: 01/19 is 7,601 feet long and 05/23 is 8,204 feet long.The airport has a maintenance base for PSA Airlines, a regional carrier that flies under the American Eagle brand for American Airlines.

Comet is an unincorporated community in Green Township, Summit County, Ohio, United States. It is located at 40°55′21″N 81°31′32″W, on the northwestern end of Comet Lake and wholly within the city of Green.The Comet Post Office was established on May 23, 1883, and discontinued on July 31, 1903. Mail service is now handled through the Clinton branch.

Comet Lake Dam is a dam located on Nimissila Creek in the city of Green in Summit County, Ohio, at 40°55′21″N 81°31′33″W. The reservoir created is called Comet Lake, and it drains into the upper Tuscarawas River by way of the Nimissila Creek.

The Portage Lakes are a group of glacial kettle lakes and reservoirs in Northeast Ohio. The name comes from an old Indian portage path that connected the Cuyahoga River flowing north to Lake Erie and the Tuscarawas River, a tributary of the Muskingum River, which flows south to the Ohio River. This proved advantageous for the Indians and early settlers as navigation from Lake Erie to the Ohio was possible with only an eight-mile portage. Portage Lakes State Park lies at one of the highest points of the state and on a major watershed divide in Ohio. Some water from the lakes reaches Lake Erie and some flows to the Ohio River.There is an unincorporated community named Portage Lakes in Summit County, near 41°00′26″N 081°31′37″W Elevation: 1,053 feet (321 m), in the area. The area became an important trading post for settlers and Indians. It was a recognized landmark during the War of 1812, serving as a rendezvous point of American troops. The old Indian portage path was part of the ancient boundary between the Six Nations and the Western Indians.The city of Akron was laid out in 1825 and was first settled by Irish laborers and others working on the Ohio and Erie Canal. Once the canal was completed, the town flourished. Several important industries brought prosperity to the area including stoneware potteries, sewer pipe manufacturing, the match industry and, most recently, the tire and rubber industry. At one time, the Blue Diamond Match Company in Akron used three million board feet (7,000 m³) of white pine lumber per year for the manufacture of its matches.Several of the Portage Lakes were built as feeder reservoirs for the canals to maintain the required depth of 4 feet (1.2 m). The lakes were used for this purpose until the canals were abandoned in 1913. The lakes were then used to meet the water needs of the local industries. Some portions of the remnant canals in the Akron area can still be boated.The Ohio Department of Public Works maintained the canal lands for recreational purposes until 1949 when the Portage Lakes were transferred to the newly formed Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation.

Coventry Township is one of the nine townships of Summit County, Ohio, United States. The 2020 census found 10,238 people in the township.
