Ryes, North Carolina

Seminole is an unincorporated community located along U.S. Route 421 in the Upper Little River Township of Harnett County, North Carolina, United States, near the county line with Lee County just outside the town of Broadway (Powell 1968, p. 445). It is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau. Daniels Creek, a tributary to the Cape Fear River, rises just north of Seminole.

Upper Little River Township is one of thirteen townships in Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. The township had a population of 7,708 according to the 2000 census. It is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau. Geographically, Upper Little River Township occupies 95.69 square miles (247.8 km2) in western Harnett County and is the largest township in the county by land area. There are no incorporated municipalities located in Upper Little River Township, however, there are several unincorporated communities located here, including the communities of Luart, Mamers, Ryes, and Seminole. A large portion of Raven Rock State Park is also located here.

The Solomon and Henry Weil Houses are two historic homes located at Goldsboro, Wayne County, North Carolina. They were built in 1875 for two brothers, and are nearly identical two-story, rectangular, Late Victorian frame dwellings. They feature projecting bays, bay windows, porches, and verandahs. Social activist Gertrude Weil, Henry's daughter, grew up in the house at 200 W. Chestnut St.They were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Broadway is a town in Lee County, North Carolina, United States. According to the 2010 census, the population was 1,229.

Mamers is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 826 at the 2010 census. It is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau.

Cedar Creek is a 4.92 mi (7.92 km) long 1st order tributary to the Cape Fear River in Harnett County, North Carolina. This stream forms the southwestern boundary of Raven Rock State Park.

Camels Creek is a 7.00 mi (11.27 km) long 2nd order tributary to the Cape Fear River in Harnett County, North Carolina. The lower reaches of this stream flow through Raven Rock State Park.

It had a population of 17,033 according to the 2010 census., 20,531 according to the 2020 census, & 19,828 according to the 2021 census. It is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau. Geographically, Barbecue Township occupies 59.65 square miles (154.5 km2) in southwestern Harnett County. There are no incorporated municipalities located in Barbecue Township, however, there are several unincorporated communities located here, including the communities of Barbecue, Olivia and Pineview.

Parkers Creek is a 7.13 mi (11.47 km) long 3rd order tributary to the Cape Fear River in Harnett County, North Carolina.

Western Harnett High School is one of six high schools in Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. The other high schools include, Harnett Central, Triton, Overhills, the alternative school and Harnett Early College, located in Dunn, NC. WHHS is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lillington, the county seat on N.C. Highway 27. The school was officially dedicated in May 1978, along with Harnett Central High School. The mascot for WHHS is the eagle.

Avents Creek is a 7.60 mi (12.23 km) long 2nd order tributary to the Cape Fear River in Harnett County, North Carolina. This is the only stream of this name in the United States. The lower reaches flow through Raven Rock State Park.
