Elland Upper Edge is a village on the B6114 road, near the town of Elland, in the Calderdale district, in the English county of West Yorkshire.

Ainley Top is a village in Calderdale, West Yorkshire in England. It is situated approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) north west of Huddersfield on the A629 to Elland and Halifax. It is situated on a hill (the Ainleys) with the M62 motorway to the north, and junction 24 of the motorway adjacent to the village. It is in the Elland ward of Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council with 419 registered electors in 248 properties in 2013. Ainley Top is also the name of the roundabout just south of the village. This is the junction of the A643 and the A629 and also gives access to junction 24 of the M62 motorway.

Elland Lower Edge is an area of Rastrick near the town of Brighouse, in the Calderdale District, in the English county of West Yorkshire.

Elland Power Station was a coal-fired power station situated adjacent to the Manchester to Wakefield railway line and on a loop of the River Calder, north east of the town of Elland in West Yorkshire. The station occupied a site of some 65 acres.

Elland Town Hall is a municipal building in Southgate, Elland, West Yorkshire, England. The structure, which was primarily used as an events venue, is a Grade II listed building.

Lindley is a suburb of Huddersfield, within the metropolitan borough of Kirklees in West Yorkshire, England. It is approximately 2 miles (3 km) northwest from Huddersfield town centre. The Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, Huddersfield's main hospital, is in Lindley. It is run by Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. In 1951, the scheme for building the new Infirmary was announced, at an initial cost of £5.5 million. Work started in 1957, but progress was slow. The hospital was officially opened only in 1967, by Prime Minister Harold Wilson, born in Huddersfield. Plans were approved in September 2021 for a new A&E department the existing 1960s A&E was "reaching near the end of its functional life and is no longer fit for purpose" according to the Director of Transformation and Partnerships for CHFT.

Suma is the trading name of the Triangle Wholefoods Collective Limited, a worker co-operative wholefoods wholesaler. It was founded in Leeds in 1977 and is now based in Elland, West Yorkshire. It is the largest independent wholefood wholesaler in the United Kingdom as well as the country's largest common ownership co-operative. The co-operative specializes in vegetarian, fairly traded, organic, ethical, ecological and natural products. Its turnover for the year ending 2019 was reported as £54 million, ranking it 49th among British co-operatives.

The Church of All Saints is a Church of England parish church in Elland, Calderdale, West Yorkshire. The church is a grade II* listed building.

Fixby is a suburb in north-west Kirklees bordering neighbouring Calderdale and is traditionally part of Huddersfield in the English county of West Yorkshire. Fixby is mentioned in the Domesday Book. The name "Fixby" derives from the Gaelic Irish personal name Fiach.In the nineteenth century Fixby was a large estate to which social reformer Richard Oastler was appointed as steward from 1830 until 1838 when he was relieved of his duties for his political activities: pamphleteering, lobbying and in the establishment of Short Time Committees in industrial towns throughout Yorkshire. The Short Time committees organised public meetings in order to raise petitions to improve conditions for children in the workplaces of the day and resulted in the Factory Act of 1847, with which Oastler was never fully satisfied.Much of the historical Fixby Estate is now a golf course based at Fixby Hall, and intersected by the Kirklees Way footpath. Fixby Hall is a grade II listed building.The area is now sought after suburban location of Huddersfield for homeowners. The village is just off the A6107 road and south of the M62 motorway.The Huddersfield Crematorium is also situated in the area.

The Church of St Mary is a Church of England parish church in Elland, West Yorkshire. The church is a Grade I listed building.

Elland was a parliamentary constituency in the West Riding of Yorkshire that existed between 1885 and 1950. It elected one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons, by the first-past-the-post voting system. Situated between Bradford in the North, Halifax in the West, and Huddersfield to the south, it included the mining town of Brighouse and the wool centre of Elland. With a sizeable Nonconformist population (estimated at 15 per cent in 1922), it was natural Liberal territory, and was a fairly safe Liberal and later Labour seat, falling to the Conservatives only in the 'khaki election' of 1918 and the Labour collapse of 1931. In the 1918 redistribution it lost some territory and it was abolished in 1950. A sizeable part of the area was transferred to the new Brighouse and Spenborough seat.

The William Henry Smith School is a non-maintained residential school, located on the outskirts of Brighouse in West Yorkshire, England. It provides education and care for boys with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD).The school has a total of 64 pupils, of which there are 56 weekly boarding pupils and 8 day pupils. It is controlled by a board of fifteen governors, and has 52 full time and 31 part time members of staff.Set in the Boothroyd Estate, the school has facilities for indoor and outdoor sporting activities, such as an adventure playground, all weather sports enclosure and indoor sports hall and gym.
