Shady Lake Park was a small amusement park operated by the Humphrey Family in Streetsboro, Ohio. The park opened in 1978 and closed in 1982. Most of the rides at Shady Lake Park were relocated from Euclid Beach Park. Many of the rides from Shady Lake Park ended up at Old Indiana Fun Park, including the Euclid Beach Chief. The tall gate structure, resembling the one at Euclid Beach Park, remained standing until 2004. Today, the land along Route 14 is home to Shady Lake Apartments and a Raising Cane’s.

Streetsboro High School is a public high school in Streetsboro, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Streetsboro City School District and had an enrollment of 577 students in the 2015–16 school year. The school was first established in 1902, but closed in 1950; it was re-established in 1962. The current facility was completed in December 2016 and opened for classes in January 2017. Athletic teams are known as the Rockets and school colors are blue and gold. Streetsboro High School is the home of high school radio station WSTB, branded "88.9 The Alternation".

Sugar Bush Knolls is a village in western Portage County, Ohio, United States. The population was 217 at the 2020 census. It was formed from portions of Streetsboro and Franklin townships in 1964. The community has the highest median household income in the Akron metropolitan area.

Tinkers Creek State Park is a public recreation area that under the name Tinkers Creek Area is part of Liberty Park in Streetsboro, Portage County, Ohio, United States. The area's small lakes and marshes provide food and habitat for beavers and thousands of waterfowl. The park offers archery, spring-fed fishing lake, hiking trails, and picnicking areas.

Moran is a place in Portage County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is located in the western edge of Streetsboro, near its border with Hudson along Aurora Hudson Road.

Aurora High School is a public high school located in Aurora, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Aurora City School District. In 2007, Aurora was recognized as a Blue Ribbon School by the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program with 257 other high schools.

Hudson High School (HHS) is a public high school in Hudson, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Hudson City School District and is located on a 72-acre (29 ha) campus that has been developed to include a variety of athletic fields, such as six tennis courts, a lighted baseball field, track, and football stadium. As of the 2014–15 school year, the school has an enrollment of 1,631 students, mainly from Hudson and neighboring Boston Township. Athletic teams are known as the Explorers with school colors of navy blue and white, and compete in the Suburban League National Division.

Theodore Roosevelt High School (RHS or TRHS), often referred to as Kent Roosevelt (KRHS), is a public high school in Kent, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in Kent and the Kent City School District and serves students in grades 9–12 living in Kent, Franklin Township, Brady Lake, and Sugar Bush Knolls as well as a small portion of southern Streetsboro. As of the 2021–22 academic year, enrollment was 1,267 students with 73 teachers for a student–teacher ratio of 17:1. Recognition for academic performance over the years has come from the United States Department of Education, Ohio Department of Education, and U.S. News & World Report. The school was founded in 1868 as Kent High School and was first housed at the Franklin Township Hall until the completion of the Union School building in March 1869. In 1922, the school was moved to a new facility named for U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt on a 10-acre (4.0 ha) campus, which would serve as the high school until 1959. Following completion of a new building on a larger 31-acre (13 ha) campus along North Mantua Street in northern Kent, Roosevelt was moved to this location. The building has had a number of additions made beginning in the mid-1960s and contains nearly 70 classrooms, a library, two gymnasiums, auditorium, and indoor pool. The campus has been expanded over the years to 90.5 acres (36.6 ha) and also includes several athletic facilities and practice fields, and Stanton Middle School. Nearly 200 courses are offered at the school including 13 Advanced Placement classes and 25 vocational education programs. Roosevelt is part of the Six District Educational Compact which pools vocational resources with five nearby high schools. There are also two academy programs for students with various educational needs. Other elective courses offered include those in the study Arabic language, lifeguard training, various aspects of American history and culture, multiple writing and journalism courses, and the visual, performing, and practical arts. There are multiple co- and extracurricular clubs and activities, many of which have earned outside recognition at the state and national levels. Roosevelt athletic teams are known as the Rough Riders with school colors of red, white, and black, and compete in the Suburban League American Division as part of the Ohio High School Athletic Association. Notable Roosevelt alumni include a Governor of Ohio, professional athletes, and entertainment figures.

The Aurora City School District is a public school district in Aurora, Ohio, U.S. The district serves primary and secondary students in the city of Aurora and part of the adjacent village of Reminderville. The district operates five buildings and, as of the 2018–19 school year, has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students in grades preschool through twelve. District offices are housed in the historic Aurora Township School, which was built in 1912.

Aurora is the former train station serving the residents of Aurora, Ohio, located within Portage County, Ohio, USA. The station was constructed in 1872 by the New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio Railroad, which had absorbed the former Cleveland and Mahoning Valley Railroad, which ran from Cleveland, Ohio to Leavittsburg, Ohio. The next station to the northwest was Geauga Lake, serving the Geauga Lake amusement park. The next station to the southeast was Mantua. The line was entirely acquired by the Erie Railroad in 1941 after dissolution of the New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio. The last train left Aurora station on January 14, 1977. After the line was abandoned, the rails were taken up. The station depot, one of three still standing along the branch (along with Solon and Mantua), was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on May 22, 1986.

Aurora is a city in northwestern Portage County, Ohio, United States. A suburb in between Akron and Cleveland, the population was 17,239 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Akron metropolitan area. Some say Aurora was the name of the daughter of Major Amos Spafford, while others believe the village was named after Aurora, the Roman goddess of dawn. The city is co-extensive with, and formed from, the former township of Aurora, which was formed from the Connecticut Western Reserve. Aurora was designated a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
