Sylvania City School District is a school district in Northwest Ohio. The school district serves students who live in the city of Sylvania, and Sylvania Township in Lucas County. The superintendent is Jane Spurgeon

Lourdes University is a private Franciscan university in Sylvania, Ohio. Established in 1958, the university is sponsored by the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania.

Sylvania Northview High School is a public high school located in Sylvania, Ohio. It is a part of the Sylvania City School District. Northview currently has 1,348 students and 86 teachers. It is the successor to Sylvania High School (1960–1976) and became Sylvania Northview in 1976 when a second high school in the district, Sylvania Southview, opened.

ProMedica Flower Hospital is 311-bed non-profit hospital in Sylvania, Ohio, United States, operated by ProMedica as a division of ProMedica Toledo Hospital.The hospital is home to the Hickman Cancer Center, an emergency department, primary stroke center, and adult inpatient psychiatry services. The emergency department has 25 beds and serves approximately 30,000 patients each year.

Sylvania Township is one of the eleven townships of Lucas County, Ohio, United States. As of 2020, the total population was 50,679, making it the second most populous municipality of Lucas County, Northwest Ohio, and the 419 / 567 area codes (behind only Toledo). The township entirely encompasses the city of Sylvania. Excluding the city of Sylvania, the remainder of the township had a population of 31,668 in 2020. The township government is under direction of a 3-member Board of Trustees (elected to staggered 4-year terms), an elected Clerk and a full-time Administrator.

Highland Meadows Golf Club is a private country club and golf course in the central United States, located in Sylvania, Ohio, a suburb northwest of Toledo. Founded 99 years ago in 1925, it has hosted the Dana Open on the LPGA Tour since 1989; the event began in 1984 as the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic.

The Dana Open, is a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour. It was founded 40 years ago in 1984 and has been played yearly, except in 1986 and 2011, in Sylvania, Ohio, a suburb northwest of Toledo. The tournament is televised by Golf Channel.

Sylvania Tam-O-Shanter and the Sylvania Sports and Exhibition Center are a combined, multi-purpose athletics complex and convention center located in Sylvania, Ohio. The original Tam-O-Shanter complex consisted of a single ice rink built in 1972, was expanded upon in 1993 and 2001, and as of 2019 is operated by the Sylvania Joint Area Recreational District. The Tam-O-Shanter facilities include two ice rinks, two restaurants, an ice skating equipment shop, and a senior center in a neighboring building. The Sports and Exhibition Center contains a 36,000 square foot fieldhouse, used for conventions, trade shows, and sporting events.

Sylvania Southview High School is a public high school in Sylvania, Ohio. It is one of two high schools in the Sylvania Schools district, the other being Sylvania Northview High School.

Toledo Islamic Academy (TIA) is a primary and secondary private Islamic charter school in Toledo, Ohio, enrolling students in grades PK–12. It was established in 1995 by the Masjid Saad Foundation, and is accredited by the Ohio Department of Education and AdvancEd.The school follows Common Core State Standards in its college-preparatory curriculum, with a focus on STEM education. Students study Arabic as a second language in addition to English, and participate in Quran studies in Arabic.In 2007, the Masjid Saad mosque, where the school had been holding classes since it opened in September 1995, relocated along with the school to the former Cathedral of Praise church in Sylvania, Ohio. The new facility included a gym, playground areas, and a cafeteria.In 2015, there were 183 students enrolled with a 100% four-year graduation rate, and 100% of students later attending 4-year colleges. Their average ACT score was 23.0, and average SAT score was 2030.As of 2020, the school principal is Dr. Nabila Gomaa.

The R. A. Stranahan Arboretum 47 acres (190,000 m2) is located at 4131 Tantara Drive, Toledo, Ohio, about a 10-minute drive from the main campus of the University of Toledo. It contains 1,500 specimens of cultivated, mature trees from China, Serbia, Japan, and Norway, as well as North American varieties ranging from Bristlecone Pine to Buckeye. The Arboretum site includes cultivated ornamental trees, rolling lawns, natural woods, ponds, wetlands and a restored prairie, all located within the "Oak Openings" sand dune region. About one-quarter of the Arboretum is covered by forest. The older forest has not been cleared for over 150 years and has oaks as the dominant tree. Peaks of old sand dunes are visible beneath its undergrowth. The newer forest is 50 years old, with has red maple as the dominant tree. The Arboretum was donated to the University of Toledo in 1964 by the W. W. Knight family, in memory of Robert Stranahan.
