Lofton Henderson Memorial Bridge (formerly, 21st Street Bridge) is a cantilever truss bridge that carries Ohio State Route 611 (Henderson Drive) over the Black River in Lorain County, Ohio.The High-Level Bridge was proposed in 1937 as a bypass to the notoriously congested Erie Avenue swing bridge. Designed by Wilbur J. Watson & Associates of Cleveland and constructed by the American Bridge Company, it opened in conjunction with the new Erie Avenue bascule bridge on September 26, 1940. The High-Level Bridge was named for Lofton Henderson in October 1991.

Lorain Catholic High School was a private Catholic high school located in Lorain, Ohio, 30 miles west of Cleveland. It was run by the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland until 2001. Lorain Catholic then was governed by an independent board of directors until its closure in 2004.

In the town of Lorain, Ohio, located just west of Cleveland, the 1,720-seat Lorain Palace Theatre first opened in 1928. It was the first motion picture theater in Ohio to show a talking motion picture. The opening night film, and first talky played in Ohio was a pre-release of Paramount’s "Something Always Happens" starring Neil Hamilton and Esther Ralston. Today it serves as a community Civic Center, movie theatre, meeting place and entertainment facility. The crystal chandelier, Wurlitzer pipe organ (one of only four remaining in theaters across Ohio), and two spacious loges are just some of the features which made this building worthy of being preserved.

Eagles Building is a building in Lorain, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. The building has a concrete frame, which was the result of a steel shortage due to World War I.

Lorain High School is part of Lorain City School District in Lorain, Ohio and was founded in 1876, beginning as a two-year high school course. In 1879, the first graduating class consisted of three members. By 1883, the high school curriculum was expanded to three years and in 1889, it was expanded to four years. In 1995, Lorain High School was closed and became Lorain Middle School, which was later closed in 2005. In the fall of 2010, following the merger of Lorain Admiral King High School and Lorain Southview High School, Lorain High School reopened as the Lorain High School Titans, with navy blue and silver as their colors and operated in the former Lorain Southview High School building as construction began for the new building. The all new Lorain High School complex opened in 2016.

St. Ladislaus Roman Catholic Church was a historic church at 2908 Wood Avenue in Lorain, Ohio.It was built in 1904 and added to the National Register in 1982. The church was closed in 2010 along with other local churches as part of a "reconfiguration" by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Cleveland. Statues from the church were restored and later added to the Museum of Divine Statues in Lakewood, Ohio in April 2011.

The Lorain City School District is a public school district serving the city of Lorain, Ohio, which is located 25 miles west of Cleveland. The district is the tenth largest urban school district in the State of Ohio.

The Lorain Fire Station No. 1, at 605 W. Fourth St. in Lorain, Ohio, was built in 1912. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.It was built after a fire killed four persons, including a woman and two children.

The Charles Berry Bridge, in Lorain, Ohio along U.S. Route 6 (US 6), is the second-largest bascule bridge in the world. It was dedicated on Veterans Day in 1988. The bridge had been built in the late 1930s and in use for roughly 48 years before extensive rehabilitation was finished and the bridge was officially renamed in honor of Lorain native Charles J. Berry, a Marine who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions during a minor grenade battle on Iwo Jima. During its construction, the Erie Avenue Bridge (as it was formerly called) was the largest bascule bridge in the world. and is now considered to be the second-largest. The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) agreed in 1989 to cover funding for the bridge which saves Lorain county nearly half a million US dollars per year. The Charles Berry Bridge is one of only three bridges in Ohio that the ODOT will currently fund. The Charles Berry Bridge is one of the primary methods of transportation between the east and west of Lorain across Black River along with the Lofton Henderson Memorial Bridge which is also named after a native of Lorain who was awarded the Navy Cross for his heroism at the historic Battle of Midway.

Antlers Hotel is a historic hotel building in Lorain, Ohio, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places November 30, 1982.

Clearview High School (CHS) is a public high school located in Lorain, Ohio, United States. It is part of the Clearview Local School District, one of five school districts serving the city of Lorain and all of Sheffield Township, Ohio. Clearview High School houses students in grades 9-12. It was formerly named Clearview Junior-Senior High School and housed students in grades 7-12. After a remodeling project across the district in the early 2000s, grades 7 and 8 moved to Durling Middle School, just northwest of the high school. Of the five school districts that are wholly or partially within the city of Lorain, Clearview serves the second largest population of Lorain students, with Lorain High School being the largest. The other local school districts are Amherst, Firelands, Vermilion and Eyria. At one time Lorain City Schools wanted the Clearview students that lived in the Lorain city part of the Clearview Local School District.The school colors are blue and gold. The sports teams are known as the Clippers. The school's fight song, instrumentally, is the fight song from Washington State University.

Clearview Local School District was formed on and serves students from Sheffield Township, Ohio and part of Lorain, Ohio. Clearview has three school buildings. Vincent Elementary houses K-4 and was built in the 1912, Durling Middle School houses 5-8 and was built in 1952 and Clearview High School houses 9-12 and was built in 1923. In 2004 all three buildings were greatly renovated and expanded, thanks to the Ohio School Facilities Commission 23 million dollars. At Vincent and Clearview all the older sections were demolished and made way for new classrooms.
