Alberni Valley

The Weyerhaeuser Arena is part of the Alberni Valley Multiplex, between the North Island College campus and the Bob Dailey Stadium in Port Alberni, British Columbia. It has twin ice sheets for hockey, figure skating and recreational skating but also has the capacity for concerts, conventions and other events.The arena has been the home rink of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the BCHL since 2002, various local minor league hockey teams, and the Mt. Arrowsmith Skating Club. Public recreational skating and recreational hockey is available throughout the season. Among other sports, the multiplex also provides a venue for lacrosse.

Alberni District Secondary School (ADSS), formerly known as Alberni District High School (ADHS), is the only secondary school in Port Alberni. It is a part of School District 70 Alberni.

Port Alberni Mill is a paper mill located in the Canadian town of Port Alberni, British Columbia, on the edge of the Alberni Inlet. Part of Paper Excellence, the mill has two paper machines which produce 336,000 tonnes. Port Alberni Mill produces directory, lightweight coated paper and specialty papers. The mill's papers are used in telephone directories, catalogues, magazines, brochures, inserts, flyers and food grade. The mill has 310 employees as of 2020.The mill was established by Bloedel, Stewart and Welch in 1946, originally operating only a kraft pulp mill. This came by after an injunction by Fisheries and Oceans Canada, who prohibited the use of the sulfite process. In addition to being the first significant new BC mill in decades, it was the first BC mill to integrate residuals from sawmills. By way of merger, ownership passed to MacMillan Bloedel in 1951. The two paper machines were installed in 1957, at first producing newsprint. Ownership passed to Pacifica Papers in 1998, Norske Skog Canada in 2000 and Catalyst Paper in 2005.

Port Alberni () is a city located on Vancouver Island in the province of British Columbia, Canada. The city lies within the Alberni Valley at the head of the Alberni Inlet, Vancouver Island's longest inlet. It is the location of the head offices of the Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District. Port Alberni currently has a total population of 18,259. Port Alberni is served by the coast-spanning Island Highway system, the Island Rail Corridor, and a local airport.

The Alberni Pacific Railway is a heritage railway originating in Port Alberni, British Columbia. Due to budget and equipment concerns, the railway did not operate in the 2020 season.

Alberni Mall is an outdoor shopping mall located in Port Alberni, British Columbia. Formerly an indoor mall until April 15, 2007, major renovation and redevelopment of the former mall complex began in the spring of that year, and it will most likely also be renamed as part of its updating.

Somass River is a river on Vancouver Island, in the Canadian province of British Columbia. Its drainage basin is 1,412 square kilometres (545 sq mi) in size.The river's name comes from a Nuu-chah-nulth word meaning "washing".

Port Alberni Water Aerodrome (TC LID: CPW9) is located in Alberni Inlet, adjacent to Port Alberni, British Columbia, Canada.

Pacific Rim Shopping Centre is an outdoor shopping centre in Port Alberni, British Columbia, formatted as a power centre. It is located on the north side of town at the intersection of Cherry Creek Road and Johnson Road where the latter becomes known as the Alberni Highway. Walmart, Tyler's No Frills (formerly Extra Foods) and Staples (formerly Staples Business Depot) comprise Pacific Rim Centre's three anchor tenants. Extra Foods was the first of the mall's stores to be built, opening on November 12, 2004, followed by Wal-Mart on January 27, 2005 on the site of the former McKinnon's Dairy on Johnston Road. The Staples store opened on September 22, 2007. On November 1, 2011, Port Alberni Extra Foods manager Tyler Steel announced that the Extra Foods store at Pacific Rim Centre would be downsized and renovated into a No Frills store, with the extra space from the renovations to be leased out. The conversion to No Frills, which began on October 6, was completed with the store reopening on December 7, 2011. Another new store, Bosley's Pet Food Plus, opened at Pacific Rim Centre on September 24, 2012, taking a space that had been vacant since the centre first opened.

CJAV-FM is a Canadian radio station broadcasting at 93.3 FM in Port Alberni, British Columbia. The station currently broadcasts an adult contemporary format branded on-air as 93.3 The Peak and is owned by Jim Pattison Group.

Ward Lake is a lake located on Vancouver Island at the headwaters of Ward Creek north of the Sproat Lake.

Cox Lake is a lake located southeast of Port Alberni, British Columbia. It is named after the Cox family, who lived at Cape Beale lighthouse in the 1870s.
