Cross Lake (New York)

Jack's Reef is a hamlet in the Town of Van Buren, New York in Onondaga County, United States. It was developed around an inn where Old Route 31 (supplanted by modern NY Route 31) bent around a large oxbow in the Seneca River. Subsequently, a canal was cut approximately one mile to the north, which shortened the navigation route. Consequently, Jack's Reef lost virtually all commercial and much recreational traffic. The nearby Seneca River still attracted summer residents, however. Today year-round homes are being built nearby, as the hamlet is within commuting range of Syracuse.

The Jordan-Elbridge Central School District consists of two different villages, Jordan and Elbridge both of which are in Onondaga County, New York which is located in Central New York, US. The population as of 2010 according to the U.S. Census Bureau is: the Jordan village total population, 1,368 people; the Elbridge village total population, 1,058 people; and Town of Elbridge, in Onondaga County, New York, total population 5,922 people (as of 2010 Census).

Jordan Canal Park in Jordan, New York includes the Jordan Aqueduct, which carried the Erie Canal over Skaneateles Creek. There is a pathway along the canal through the village.

Plainville is a hamlet on NY Route 370, approximately 4.5 miles west of Baldwinsville in Onondaga County, New York, United States. It is noted for the extensive Plainville Turkey Farms, which remained in the same family from 1835 until the business was sold in 2007 to Hain Celestial Group. The former Plainville turkey processing operations were relocated to Pennsylvania in 2009, and the Plainville plant was shut down in 2010.On Route 370, west of the hamlet, is the James Leslie Voorhees house, Whig Hill (1833), one of the major historic houses of Onondaga County. Voorhees was a wealthy landowner of nearby property and a builder of New York City as well as Central New York engineering projects who was active in New York State politics. Whig Hill and Dependencies was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Whig Hill is a historic home located near Plainville, Onondaga County, New York. The main house was built in 1833, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, five-bay, Greek Revival-style brick dwelling with a nearly flat roof. Whig Hill was the principal element within a listing Whig Hill and Dependencies, which included two barn clusters, a tenant house, and other outbuildings.: 5  The barn cluster north of Genesee Street, described in 1975, is no longer present, in 2009. The south barn remains. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Cato is a town in Cayuga County, New York, United States. According to the 2020 census, the town had a population of 2,445. The town is named after Cato the Elder, a Roman statesman. The name was assigned by the surveyors of the Military Tract, and is one of many towns and villages bearing a classical name. The town of Cato contains part of a village also named Cato, as well as the entire village of Meridian. Cato is northwest of Syracuse.

Otter Lake is located near Meridian, New York. Fish species present in the lake are black bullhead, and walleye. There is access with a fee through the Leisure Acres Trailer Park.

Jordan-Elbridge High School is a high school located in Jordan, New York. It is part of the Jordan-Elbridge Central School District.

Elbridge is a town in Onondaga County, New York, United States. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 5,476. The town is named after Elbridge Gerry, the fifth Vice President of the United States, and one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. The Town of Elbridge is west of Syracuse, on the western border of the county. The town contains two villages, one named Jordan and one which is also named Elbridge.

The Elbridge Village Historic District is a 60 acres (24 ha) historic district in the town of Elbridge, New York. It includes 66 contributing buildings and 26 contributing objects. Most of the contributing buildings are along Route 5. Federal and Greek Revival architectural styles are represented. Contributing objects include items such as a carriage entry staircase. The Town of Elbridge has an estimated population of 6,000 people and an approximate size of 36 square miles.
