Jordan Village Historic District (Jordan, New York)

Jordan Canal Park in Jordan, New York includes the Jordan Aqueduct, which carried the Erie Canal over Skaneateles Creek. There is a pathway along the canal through the village.

Most of the contributing buildings are along Route 5. Federal and Greek Revival architectural styles are represented. Contributing objects include items such as a carriage entry staircase. The Town of Elbridge has an estimated population of 6,000 people and an approximate size of 36 square miles.

The town is named after Elbridge Gerry, the fifth Vice President of the United States, and one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. The Town of Elbridge is west of Syracuse, on the western border of the county. The town contains two villages, one named Jordan and one which is also named Elbridge.

Elbridge is a village located in the western part of the town of Elbridge in western Onondaga County, New York, United States, about 15 miles (24 km) west of Syracuse. It is part of the Syracuse Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, the population was 921.

Cross Lake is on the border of Cayuga and Onondaga counties in the state of New York in the United States. The lake lies within the boundaries of the traditional Onondaga Indian Nation, and is reputed in local tradition to be the boyhood home of Hiawatha, the great peace maker. However, Onondaga Lake is also said to be Hiawatha's home. Cross Lake has a maximum depth of 65 feet and has an average depth of 18 feet. The Seneca River flows west to east through the south end of the lake. Since Cross Lake is part of the New York State Canal System, there are a variety of fish that pass through it. Cross Lake has a flushing rate of 51 times per year; once per week.

Skaneateles Creek is a river in New York, the United States. It drains Skaneateles Lake to the Seneca River. It flows through Skaneateles, Skaneateles Falls, Mottville, Elbridge, and Jordan before joining the Seneca River, about 2 miles northwest of Jordan, New York. Though only approximately 10 miles long, Skaneateles Creek has 21 dams inventoried by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. The Erie Canal crossed over Skaneateles Creek on the Jordan Aqueduct.

Rolling Wheels Raceway a.k.a. Rolling Wheels Raceway Park was a 5/8 mile dirt oval raceway in Elbridge, New York. Canadian Lloyd Holt won the first full season track title in 1970.

Jack's Reef is a hamlet in the Town of Van Buren, New York in Onondaga County, United States. It was developed around an inn where Old Route 31 (supplanted by modern NY Route 31) bent around a large oxbow in the Seneca River. Subsequently, a canal was cut approximately one mile to the north, which shortened the navigation route. Consequently, Jack's Reef lost virtually all commercial and much recreational traffic. The nearby Seneca River still attracted summer residents, however. Today year-round homes are being built nearby, as the hamlet is within commuting range of Syracuse.

Weedsport Speedway, formerly known as Cayuga County Fair Speedway, is a 3/8 mile oval dirt racetrack located on the Cayuga County Fairgrounds in Weedsport, New York.
