Honjō-shuku

Honjō (本庄市, Honjō-shi) is a city located in Saitama Prefecture, Japan. As of 1 January 2021, the city had an estimated population of 77,900 in 35,026 households and a population density of 870 persons per km². The total area of the city is 89.69 square kilometres (34.63 sq mi).

It was founded in 1982 as a high school attached to Waseda University. Its motto is "independence of learning" (学問の独立, gakumon-no-dokuritsu), which is the same motto as for Waseda University.

The Tajima Yahei Sericulture Farm (旧田島弥平旧宅, Tajima Yahei kyū-taku) is located in the Sakaishima neighbored of the city of Isesaki, Gunma. It was the former home of an influential silk farmer in the early Meiji period, known for writing a new sericulture theory which laid the foundations for modern sericultural production. The building has been protected as a National Historic Site since 2012. It was subsequently included as part of The Tomioka Silk Mill and Related Industrial Heritage UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013.

Tamoyada dam is a gravity barrage-dam located in Saitama prefecture in Japan. The structure is used to divert water for agriculture, and to generate hydro-electricity. The catchment area of the dam is 893 km2. The dam impounds about 47ha of land when full and can store 37 thousand cubic meters of water. The construction of the dam was started on 1962 and completed in 1964.
