Lake Metroparks Farmpark is a working farm located in Kirtland, Ohio. Opened in 1990, the farm is located on 235 acres (95 hectares) with fields, gardens and standard farm buildings. The park hopes to help people understand how farm life has developed over time, and reinforces that farming is a current and viable lifestyle. Lake Farmpark strives not only to help people understand the past of agriculture but also to draw attention to the present situation of the industry while envisioning future applications. The farm features dairy cows and daily milking sessions, wagon rides, a plant science center and a building with historic and modern tractors and farm equipment. The barnyard animals include pigs, sheep, chickens, rabbits, horses, llamas, alpacas and goats. Seasonal and weekend activities include cheese making, sheep-shearing, maple sugaring and harvesting. It was named one of the top 10 educational sites to learn about farming by USA Today.

Hawken School is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school in Northeast Ohio. Hawken currently has two main campuses, the Lower and Middle Schools in Lyndhurst and the Upper School in Chester Township, plus a third, an urban campus in University Circle, The Sally & Bob Gries Center for Experiential and Service Learning, which is utilized by all grade levels. Hawken's motto is quoted from John Lancaster Spalding's Education and the Higher Life: "That the better self shall prevail, and each generation introduce its successor to a higher plane of life"; although a sign with the secondary motto, "Fair Play," hangs in every classroom on either campus. A new middle school complex at the Lyndhurst campus was built for the 2006–07 school year. Construction on the Gates Mills campus finished in 2016, marking the opening of Stirn Hall. D. Scott Looney is the current Head of School, having assumed the position on July 1, 2006.

Gildersleeve Mountain is a summit located in Kirtland, Ohio, United States. Gildersleeve Mountain is interesting and important because it is within one of the largest and most densely populated metropolitan areas in the United States (regional population 2.9 million). It is a relatively unspoiled and unique area just 18 miles (29 km) from downtown Cleveland. While this is not unique in a region where urban and suburban forest preserves abound, it is one of only two natural areas with higher elevations and unique rock outcroppings. Little Mountain, which is near the Holden Arboretum, is similar to Gildersleeve Mountain but is accessible on guided walks only. Gildersleeve Mountain is located in the Chapin Forest Reservation of Lake Metroparks and is referred to as the "scenic overlook".

West Geauga High School is a public high school in Chester Township, Ohio. It is the only high school in the West Geauga Local Schools district and serves Chester Township, Newbury Township, the Geauga portion of Hunting Valley, most of Russell Township, and a small part of Munson Township.

Kirtland is a city in Lake County, Ohio, United States. The population was 6,937 at the 2020 census. Kirtland is known for being the early headquarters of the Latter Day Saint movement from 1831 to 1837 and the site of the movement's first temple, the Kirtland Temple, completed in 1836. The Kirtland Temple and nearby Historic Kirtland Village are maintained as historic sites highlighting that era. The city is also the location for multiple parks in the Lake Metroparks system, as well as the Holden Arboretum.

Old South Church is a historic church at 9802 Chillicothe Road in Kirtland, Ohio. It was built in 1859 with Romanesque and Carpenter Gothic elements and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.It was built on the site of the first church in Kirtland, which was a log cabin built by the first congregation, which formed in 1819. It has a gable roof and a three-story tower topped by an octagonal spire.The congregation is currently affiliated with the United Church of Christ.

Gates Mills Methodist Episcopal Church (also known as St. Christopher's-by-the-River) is a historic church on Old Mill Road off U.S. 322 in Gates Mills, Ohio. It was built in 1853 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
