The World (archipelago)

The Universe was a planned artificial archipelago in the shape of the Milky Way and Solar System, to be built on the coast of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Universe was to be located between the Palm Jumeirah, The World, Jumeirah, and the Palm Deira. The project plan was put on hold indefinitely in 2009.

Umm Suqiem (Arabic: ام سقيم) is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Umm Suqiem is located in western Dubai, along the Jumeirah Beach coastline. It is bordered to the north by Jumeirah, to the south by Al Sufouh, and to the west by Al Safa, Al Manara and Umm Al Sheif. Umm Suqiem comprises three sub-communities - — Umm Suqiem 1, Umm Suqiem 2 and Umm Suqiem 3 — which house affluent residential communities and tourist attractions. Umm Al Sheif Road separates Umm Suqiem from Jumeirah while routing D 65 (Al Manara Road) separates Umm Suqiem 1 from Umm Suqiem 2 and Al Thanya Road separates Umm Suqiem 2 from Umm Suqiem 3. Al Thanya Road is the most important road in all of Umm Suqeim because of the residents that live on it. Several important tourist attractions and commercial centers are located in Umm Suqiem. Emirates International School, Suqiem Public Park and Same Day Dental Clinic are located in Umm Suqeim 2, while Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Burj Al Arab and Wild Wadi Water Park is located in Umm Suqiem 3, along the sub-community Jumeirah Beach coast. Schools in the area include Emirates International School – Jumeirah, and King's Dubai School, a private primary school with around 900 students enrolled.

The Jumeirah Archaeological Site is a site which dates back to the Abbasid period in the 9th century AD, in the district of Jumeirah in the city of Dubai, the United Arab Emirates. It was first excavated in 1969 with different ancient items including architectural and decorative findings, ranging from a mosque, caravanserai, and residential houses to glazed pottery jars and plateware, bronze coins, glass and stone artefacts. It is owned and managed by Dubai Culture & Arts Authority.

The Burj Al Arab (Arabic: برج العرب, Arab Tower) is a luxury hotel located in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Managed by Jumeirah hotel group, it is one of the tallest hotels in the world, although 39% of its total height is made up of non-occupiable space. Burj Al Arab stands on an artificial island that is 280 m (920 ft) from Jumeirah Beach and is connected to the mainland by a private curving bridge. The shape of the structure is designed to resemble the sail of a ship. It has a helipad near the roof, at a height of 210 m (689 ft) above ground.

Jumeirah (Arabic: جُمَيْرَا, romanized: Jumayrā Emirati pronunciation: [dʒʊˈmeːrɐ]) is a coastal residential area of Dubai, United Arab Emirates mainly comprising low rise private dwellings and hotel developments. It has both expensive and large detached properties as well as more modest town houses built in a variety of architectural styles. The area is popular with expatriates working in the emirate and is familiar to many tourists visiting Dubai.

Jumeirah Beach Hotel is a luxury hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The hotel, which opened in 1997, is operated by the Dubai-based hotelier Jumeirah. The hotel contains 598 rooms and suites, 19 beachfront villas, and 20 restaurants and bars. This wave-shaped hotel complements the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab, which is adjacent to the Jumeirah Beach Hotel.

The Wild Wadi Water Park is an outdoor water park in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Situated in the area of Jumeirah, next to the Burj Al Arab and the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, the water park is operated by Jumeirah International, a Dubai-based hotelier. Wild Wadi has a heated/cooled wave pool, multiple water slides and two artificial surfing machines. The park once had the largest water slide outside of North America, but it has since been removed to make space for two other rides. Another feature of the park is an 18 m (59 ft) waterfall that goes off every ten minutes. The water park also has two gift shops, three restaurants and two snack stands. It was featured in The Amazing Race 5 and The Amazing Race Asia 1, in which teams had to slide down a 21 m (69 ft) drop. It was later featured in The Amazing Race Australia 2, but instead, the teams had to ride the Surf Machine and use boogie boards to surf their way to the end where they got their next clue.

The Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque (Arabic: مسجد ومركز الفاروق عمر بن الخطاب) is a mosque located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The mosque is named after Umar bin Al Khattab, a companion of the Prophet Mohammed who became the second Caliph after Abu Bakr and was given the title Al Farooq, meaning someone who distinguished truth from falsehood. The original Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque was established on the same site in 1986. The building was renovated twice, in 2003 and later in 2011 by the order of Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, the chairman of the business empire that bears his family name and whose interests stretch from vehicle sales, schools and hotels to engineering and publishing. It was opened to the public on July 29, 2011.The Al Farooq Omar Bin Al Khattab Mosque can accommodate 2,000 worshipers and is considered one of the UAE’s largest mosques and the third of its kind to open its doors to non-Muslims after the Mosque of late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi and the Grand Mosque in Jumeirah. In 2017, The Al-Farooq Omar Bin Al-wKhattab Mosque & Center (AFMC) has receive distinguished reciters from different parts of the Middle East during Ramadan. The reciters, Sheikh Abdullah Ghilan from Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdul Wali Al-Arkani from Bahrain and Sheikh Hassan Ali Merheb from Lebanon, will lead Taraweeh prayers every day during the holy month.

Al Safa (Arabic: الصفا) is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Al Safa is located in western Dubai and is bordered to the north by Jumeirah, to the south by Al Quoz, to the east by Al Wasl, and to the west by Al Manara. Al Safa is bounded to the northwest and southwest by routes D 92 (Al Wasl Road) and E 11 (Sheikh Zayed Road) respectively. Al Safa is a residential area; Interchange No. 2 (Pepsi Interchange) of Sheikh Zayed Road forms the southeastern periphery of the locality. Al Safa terminates at Interchange No. 3. Al Safa is divided into two subcommunities — Al Safa 1 and Al Safa 2, which house extremely affluent residential communities. Important landmarks in Al Safa include Emirates English Speaking School, Jumeirah English Speaking School, Jumeirah Primary School and the consulate of China.

Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah is a five-star luxury hotel in Dubai, part of Hilton Worldwide. The hotel was opened on 12 March and the master suite and penthouse cost just over 12,000$ per inch was in December 2013). It is the second hotel of the Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts in the United Arab Emirates. In 2018, Corah Caples was appointed as Director of Operations.
