Boonville, North Carolina

Boonville Township is one of twelve townships in Yadkin County, North Carolina, United States. The township had a population of 3,883, according to the 2000 census. Geographically, Boonville Township occupies 40.75 square miles (105.5 km2) in northern Yadkin County. Boonville Township's northern border is the Yadkin River. The only incorporated municipality within Boonville Township is the Town of Boonville.

The Fisher River is a tributary of the Yadkin River in northwestern North Carolina in the United States, also draining a very small portion of southwestern Virginia. Via the Yadkin it is part of the watershed of the Pee Dee River, which flows to the Atlantic Ocean. According to the Geographic Names Information System, it has also been known historically as "Big Fishers River," "Fish River" and "Fishe River."The Fisher River rises in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the southeastern extremity of Grayson County, Virginia, but flows for nearly all of its length in Surry County, North Carolina, initially southeastwardly. Near Dobson, it collects the short Little Fisher River and turns southward to its confluence with the Yadkin River, about 3 mi (5 km) north-northeast of Boonville.

The district encompasses 12 contributing buildings in the central business district of Rockford. They were primarily built between about 1790 and 1930 and include notable examples of Federal and Greek Revival architecture. Notable buildings include the Methodist Church (1912), former courthouse, York Tavern (c. 1800), Old Post Office, R. H. Clark's Store, the Tobacco Factory, the Grant-Burrus Hotel (c. 1790), and the former Masonic Lodge building.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Burch, or more commonly known locally as Burch Station, is an unincorporated community along the Yadkin River in the Marsh Township of Surry County, North Carolina, United States. The community sits on the mouth of the Mitchell River where it empties into the Yadkin. The community is known as Burch Station after the former train depot there on the former Southern Railway, now used by the Yadkin Valley Railroad.

The river is a popular destination for anglers who catch Brown, Brook, and Rainbow trout.
