East Wilkes High School is a class 1A public high school (grades 9–12) located in Ronda, North Carolina. It is a part of the Wilkes County Schools system. The school's enrollment typically runs from 500 to 600 students. The school serves the East District of Wilkes County, including the town of Ronda, the communities of Roaring River and Clingman, and portions of Elkin. The original buildings once housed Ronda Elementary School, but were later converted into a high school after the consolidation of the Wilkes County School system in the 1950s resulted in the construction of several new schools in the area. A new academic building and cafeteria have been completed, while the new vocational building remains under construction.

Claymont Hill, also known as the Albert L. Hendrix House, is a historic home located near Ronda, Wilkes County, North Carolina. It was built in 1870, and is a large two-story, ell-shaped I-house with multiple gables and with two-story porches on three elevations. At its core is a much earlier log structure. It has Gothic Revival style design elements in the gables and sawnwork trim. Also on the property is a contributing former detached kitchen.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Swan Creek is an unincorporated community in western Yadkin County, North Carolina, United States, south of Jonesville. The community shares its name with the Swan Creek viticultural area. The AVA includes about 160 square miles (410 km2) in Iredell, Wilkes and Yadkin counties. The designation, the second in North Carolina, took effect May 27, 2008. There are five vineyards located within the Swan Creek AVA: Raffaldini Vineyards in Ronda, and Windsor Run Cellars, Shadow Springs Vineyard, Dobbins Creek Vineyards, and Laurel Gray Vineyards in Hamptonville. Swan Creek is named for the wild geese, erroneously called swans, that were spotted resting in a nearby stream. Quaker pioneers first settled in the area before 1797.

Cedar Point, also known as the Richard Gwyn House and Richard Gwyn Franklin House, is a historic home located at Elkin, Surry County, North Carolina. It was built about 1840, and is a two-story, three-bay, Greek Revival style frame I-house. It has a two-story rear ell and rests on a brick pier foundation. It features a one-story, hip-roofed front porch with overhanging boxed eaves. It was built by Richard Gwyn (1796-1881), known as "Elkin's Founding Father."It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.There is also an interesting Indian rock located in the front yard (which can be seen from the road) which still contains an attached carved bowl. Date unknown.

Elkin Creek Mill is a historic grist mill located near West Elkin, Wilkes County, North Carolina. It was built about 1896, and is a two-story, rectangular frame structure on fieldstone piers. It has a one-story gable roofed wing and one-story shed addition. The milling equipment remains in place in the building. Also on the property is a contributing four stall stable.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Chatham Bridge (1931), Liberty Tobacco Warehouse (c. 1920), Harris Building (1902), U.S. Post Office (1937) designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect under Louis A. Simon, former Elkin Town Hall (1938–1939) built by the Works Progress Administration, Dobbin's Store (c. 1940), and the Riverside Hotel (1915–1925).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
