Nacka Municipality

Nacka (Swedish pronunciation: [ˈnâkːa] (listen)) is the municipal seat of Nacka Municipality and part of Stockholm urban area in Sweden. The municipality's name harks back to a 16th-century industrial operation established by the Crown at Nacka farmstead where conditions for water mills are good. However, and somewhat confusingly, that spot is not densely populated today and the municipal seat is on land that once belonged to Järla farmstead on the other side of Lake Järla.

The Fjäderholmarna (English: Feather Islands) are a group of small islands in the Stockholm archipelago close to downtown Stockholm, Sweden. The Fjäderholmarna consist of the four named islands of Stora Fjäderholmen, Ängsholmen, Libertas and Rövarns holme, together with a number of smaller islets. The Fjäderholmarna are located within the municipality of Lidingö, and are administered as part of the Royal National City Park. Stora Fjäderholmen can be reached by regular boat services from various locations in central Stockholm, with a voyage duration of about 20 minutes. The island is home to a number of craft workshops and stores, as well as several restaurants and cafes.

Stockholm County (Swedish: Stockholms län [ˈstɔ̂kː(h)ɔlms ˈlɛːn]) is a county or län (in Swedish) on the Baltic Sea coast of Sweden. It borders Uppsala County and Södermanland County. It also borders Mälaren and the Baltic Sea. The city of Stockholm is the capital of Sweden. Stockholm County is divided by the historic provinces of Uppland (Roslagen) and Södermanland (Södertörn). More than one fifth of the Swedish population lives in the county. Stockholm County is also one of the statistical riksområden (national areas) according to NUTS:SE, Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics within the EU. With more than two million inhabitants, Stockholm is the most densely populated county of Sweden.

The Thiel Gallery (Swedish: Thielska Galleriet) is an art museum in the Djurgården park area of Stockholm, Sweden. Represented are the members of the Artists Association (Konstnärsförbundet) from the early 1900s as well as one of the world's largest collections of works by Edvard Munch.

Lilla Sjötullsbron (Swedish: "Small Sea Customs Bridge") is a concrete pedestrian bridge in central Stockholm, Sweden. Passing over Djurgårdsbrunnskanalen it connects Djurgården island to the mainland north of it. Completed in 1965, the bridge was named after the building of the canal guard, called Lilla sjötullen ("Small sea Customs"), built in the 1820s. The bridge is about 3.7 metres wide, 32 metres long of which some 20 metres passes over the canal. It offers a horizontal clearance of 3.1 metres.

Nackasändaren is a facility for FM and TV-transmission at Nacka in Metropolitan Stockholm. It used from 1956 to 1983 two 160-metre-high (520 ft) guyed masts, which were designed as mast radiators for mediumwave transmission and therefore insulated against ground. In 1965 a further mast, a 299-metre-tall (981 ft) guyed steel lattice mast for FM and TV-transmissions was built. This mast is in opposite to the lower masts grounded, but carried in its upper guys insulators in order not to disturb the radiation pattern of the mediumwave transmitter. After termination of the AM transmissions, which occurred until 1978 on 773 kHz and after 1978 on 774 kHz on June 1, 1981, the old masts were demolished on November 2, 1983, and December 7, 1983. At their location a second 299-metre-tall (981 ft) steel framework mast for FM- and TV-transmission was built in 1984. After cancellation of the mediumwave transmission, the insulators of the guys of the older 299 metres tall mast were obsolete and removed.

Isbladskärret is a small lake on Djurgården, an island in central Stockholm, Sweden. The lake is much appreciated among bird-watchers, and, being part of the Royal National City Park, also carefully monitored by several organizations, including the World Wide Fund for Nature. The lake is one of six in Djurgården (including Northern Djurgården, north of the island), the others being Lillsjön, Uggleviken, Spegeldammen, Lappkärret, and Laduviken.

Kvarnholmen is a peninsula east of Stockholm, Sweden. It used to only be connected in the south-west, but a permanent bridge now connects it in the south-east to the rest of Nacka, a municipality of greater Stockholm.

Djurgårdsbrunnskanalen (Swedish: "The Djurgården Well Canal") is a canal in central Stockholm, Sweden, separating the island Djurgården from the northern mainland (or more correctly Southern and Northern Djurgården). The canal stretches one kilometre (0.6 mi) from Lilla Värtan to Djurgårdsbrunnsviken and allows ships 9.5 metres (31 ft) wide and 2.1 metres (6 ft 11 in) deep to pass. Two bridges pass over the canal: Djurgårdsbrunnsbron and Lilla Sjötullsbron. The decision to build the canal was made by King Charles XIV in 1825. The canal was completed in 1834. It was built to make it easier for smaller ships with supplies to reach the center of Stockholm, but also for aesthetic reasons because Djurgården is a royal park.
