Falkirk High School

Rosebank distillery is situated in Camelon on the banks of the Forth and Clyde canal between Edinburgh and Glasgow. Its name originated after the roses which grew along the banks of the canal. I n October 2017 Ian MacLeod Distillers Ltd purchased the site from Scottish Canals and the trademarks from Diageo with the intention of reopening the site.

Bantaskine is a park with woodlands in Falkirk, Scotland that was formerly the Bantaskine Estate, a coal mining estate. The artist Mary Georgina Wade Wilson grew up there. The Battle of Falkirk Muir was fought nearby. It is also known as South Bantaskine. North Bantaskine, on the other side of the Union Canal, was an agricultural estate. It is listed as a historically significant archeological site by Historic Environment Scotland.

Falkirk Community Hospital is a community hospital in Falkirk, Scotland. It is managed by NHS Forth Valley.

The Battle of Falkirk Muir (Scottish Gaelic: Blàr na h-Eaglaise Brice), also known as the Battle of Falkirk, took place on 17 January 1746 during the Jacobite rising of 1745. Although it resulted in a Jacobite victory, their inability to take advantage meant it ultimately had little impact on the campaign. Following their withdrawal from England in December 1745, the Jacobite army besieged Stirling Castle in early January. One of the strongest positions in Scotland, they made little progress and government forces under Henry Hawley advanced north from Edinburgh to relieve it. He reached Falkirk on 15 January but was taken by surprise when the Jacobites attacked late in the afternoon of 17 January. Fought in failing light and heavy snow, Hawley's left wing was routed but his right held firm and for a while both sides believed themselves to have been defeated. As a result of this confusion, the Jacobites failed to follow up their victory, leading to bitter disputes over responsibility for failure and allowing the government troops to regroup in Edinburgh. Hawley was replaced as commander by Cumberland and when he resumed the advance on 30 January, the Jacobites abandoned Stirling and withdrew to Inverness. The rebellion later ended at the Battle of Culloden in April. The battlefield has been inventoried and protected by Historic Scotland under the Historic Environment (Amendment) Act 2011.

Falkirk High railway station is one of two railway stations serving the town of Falkirk in Scotland. It is on the Glasgow to Edinburgh via Falkirk Line and situated on the southern edge of the town, close to the Union Canal. Falkirk is also served by the railway station at Falkirk Grahamston.

Camelon (; Scots: Caimlan, Scottish Gaelic: Camalan) is a large settlement within the Falkirk council area, Scotland. The village is in the Forth Valley, 1.3 miles (2.1 km) west of Falkirk, 1.3 miles (2.1 km) south of Larbert and 2.6 miles (4.2 km) east of Bonnybridge. The main road through Camelon is the A803 road which links the village to Falkirk. At the time of the 2001 census, Camelon had a population of 4,508.

St Mungo's High School is a mixed, Roman Catholic, secondary school in Falkirk, Scotland. As the only Catholic secondary school in Falkirk, St Mungo's attracts students from the entire council area and its six Catholic primary schools. The new St Mungo's High School building was built on the former school's sports pitches, and opened in 2009.

Camelon Juniors Football Club are a Scottish football club based in Camelon, in the Falkirk district. The team plays in the East of Scotland League First Division, having moved from the junior leagues in 2018. Despite this move, the club has decided to retain the "Juniors" part of its identity. The club have won the Scottish Junior Cup once, in 1995.

Woodlands is a large, prosperous central area (ward) of Falkirk, Stirlingshire, Scotland, which is mainly residential. Much of the ward is taken up by leafy streets where property prices are among the highest in Central Scotland (with several houses selling at over £800,000) and includes Lochgreen, Slamannan, Rosebank, Gartcows and Southern Pleasance areas (excluding property in Pleasance Gardens and Pleasance Court). Many of the Victorian and Edwardian houses were built by wealthy industrialists who had profited from Falkirk's economic prosperity during the industrial revolution, often without regard to expense. The area is close to the town centre - the shopping centre and high street are not within Woodlands, however, as the limit of the ward area is the nearby Scout Hall - and incorporates the Dollar Park, given to the town by Falkirk-born billionaire Robert Dollar, who is recorded as the 80th richest man ever to live. Dollar Park is situated on Camelon Road, one of the busiest roads in Scotland. Both the Lord Lieutenant of Stirling and Falkirk and the Chief Executive of Falkirk Council live in Woodlands. Local schools include Comely Park School, with high competition for places, founded in 1878, and Bantaskine Primary School, situated near the Bantaskine Estate. Secondary schools include St. Mungo's Roman Catholic High School. However, many families educate their children privately at Edinburgh public schools or at Dollar Academy. Falkirk Lawn Tennis Club, founded in 1891, is situated within the area, as is Falkirk Bowling Club, founded in 1838. The local public house situated on High Station Road is the famous Woodside Inn. Most of Woodlands is in the Parish of St. Andrew's West Church, and some is also in the Parishes of Falkirk Old and St. Modan's, and Erskine Parish Church. Some also attend Roman Catholic church, St. Francis' Xaviers.

Camelon railway station is a railway station serving the suburb of Camelon in Falkirk, Scotland. It is located on the Edinburgh-Dunblane and Cumbernauld Lines. Train services are provided by ScotRail. The present station was opened in 1994.

Brockville Park was a football stadium located on Hope Street in Falkirk, Scotland, 0.25 miles (0.4 km) north-west of the town centre. It was the home of Falkirk F.C. from 1885 until the end of 2002–03 Scottish football season. The record attendance at Brockville Park was 23,100 on 21 February 1953 in a match against Celtic. The stadium has since been replaced with a Morrisons supermarket. An old turnstile is on display next to the supermarket's car park.

Falkirk Public Library is a public library in Falkirk, Scotland. It is administered by Falkirk Community Trust. Local author Alan Bissett credits the library for giving him his passion for writing.
