The Tin Can Cathedral (Ukrainian: Бляшана Катедра, romanized: Blyashana Katedra) was the first independent Ukrainian church in North America. It was the heart of the Seraphimite Church. Founded in Winnipeg, it had no affiliation with any church in Europe. Ukrainian immigrants began arriving in Canada in 1891 mainly from the Austro-Hungarian provinces, the regions of Bukovina and Galicia. The new arrivals from Bukovina were Eastern Orthodox, those from Galicia Eastern Catholic. In either case it was the Byzantine Rite with which they were familiar. By 1903 the Ukrainian immigrant population in Western Canada had become large enough to attract the attention of religious leaders, politicians, and educationalists.

North Point Douglas is a small neighbourhood located in the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. North Point Douglas comprises the northern portion of a peninsula of the Red River. Its boundaries are Main Street (west), Redwood Avenue (north), the Red River (east), and the Canadian Pacific Railway mainline (south), which bisects the peninsula. The southern portion of the peninsula is the neighbourhood of South Point Douglas (which is also considered part of Downtown Winnipeg.) Together, these two neighbourhoods are known simply known as "Point Douglas". In 2001, North Point Douglas had a population of 2,260. North Point Douglas is one of the Winnipeg's oldest neighbourhoods. Today, North Point Douglas boasts two of Winnipeg's oldest houses - Barber House and Ross House Museum. It is also considered part of Winnipeg's North End.

The Ross House Museum is a museum located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, housed in a log house (constructed 1852–55) that was designated a Winnipeg Landmark Heritage Structure in 1980.The museum is affiliated with CMA, CHIN, and the Virtual Museum of Canada.

The Royal Alexandra Hotel was a hotel in Winnipeg, Manitoba, that operated from 1906 to 1967. Named for Alexandra of Denmark, the hotel was built and run by the Canadian Pacific Railway, and was designed by Edward Maxwell and William Sutherland Maxwell of Montreal. The Royal Alexandra was part of a unified development that also housed a Winnipeg train station and an office wing. The hotel operated for 61 years and closed at the end of 1967. It then sat vacant for four years before being demolished in 1971.

R. B. Russell Vocational High School is a grade 9 to 12 public high school in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is located in the North End, and is part of the Winnipeg School Division. On April 20, 2017, the school celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Fort Douglas was the Selkirk Settlement (Red River Colony) fort and the first fort associated with the Hudson's Bay Company near the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine rivers in today's city of Winnipeg. Named for Thomas Douglas, 5th Earl of Selkirk, founder of the Selkirk Settlement, the fort was built by Scottish and Irish settlers beginning in 1813. Completed in 1815, it was in the immediate vicinity (down river) of the North West Company establishment, Fort Gibraltar.After the Battle of Seven Oaks in 1816, during the conflict between the Hudson's Bay Company and the North West Company, the fort was captured by the Métis and employees of the North West Company. The fort was soon retaken by Selkirk's men and there was a short period of relative peace. Thomas Douglas, 5th Earl of Selkirk lived at the fort during his visit to the Selkirk Settlement (Red River Colony) in the summer of 1817. It was later used as a trading post and was the residence of the Governor of Assiniboia. Following the amalgamation of the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) and the North West Company (NWC) in 1821, the HBC's operations were relocated to the NWC's Fort Gibraltar, renamed Fort Garry. Fort Douglas remained the residence of the Governor of Assiniboia until it was mostly destroyed in the great Red River flood of 1826. A second flood in 1852 swept away remnants. Today the site of Fort Douglas is located on Waterfront Drive in downtown Winnipeg, in Fort Douglas Park. As the heart of the Selkirk Settlement and the first significant structure in what is today Winnipeg's historic Exchange District, the site of the fort is the most important historical site in the district. The eminent Canadian historian Professor Chester Martin of the University of Manitoba, in 1924 described the site of Fort Douglas as "perhaps the most historic site in the prairie provinces."

Point Douglas is a provincial electoral district in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is named for a part of the city that is surrounded by a bend in the Red River. The riding covers the neighbourhoods of William Whyte, Dufferin Industrial, North Point Douglas, Lord Selkirk Park and South Point Douglas plus parts of St. John's Park, St. John's, Inkster-Faraday, Burrows Central, Robertson, Dufferin, Logan C.P.R., Civic Centre and the Exchange District. It was also Winnipeg's only government supported red light district.

Chinatown is an neighbourhood in Winnipeg, Manitoba, that was formed in 1909 and serves as an enclave of Chinese expatriates.Located on King Street between James and Higgins Avenues, adjacent to the Exchange District, it was officially recognized in 1968. Winnipeg's Chinatown is home to many shops and restaurants, including Asian grocery stores and an herbal products store.In more recent years, as of 2021, a newer de facto Chinatown in the city's Fort Richmond area has seen more Chinese-Canadian businesses open every year.

The Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre (Ukrainian: Осередoк Украïнськoï Культури й Освiти, Oseredok Ukrains’koi Kul’tury i Osvity)—also known as Oseredok (Ukrainian for 'centre')—is a museum, gallery, and library in Winnipeg, Manitoba, celebrating the Ukrainian Canadian community. It is the largest Ukrainian cultural institution of its kind in Canada. Founded in 1944 by the Ukrainian National Federation of Canada, the museum collects and preserves materials and artifacts including documents, ancient maps, rare books, film, photographs, items of folk art, pioneers' tools, musical instruments, and regional folk costumes. The gallery exhibits work of Canadian and international Ukrainian artists. The library holds over 40,000 books and periodicals in Ukrainian and English including collections of children's books, folklore, music, humanities and sciences, a rare book collection and reference materials. The museum is affiliated with the CMA, CHIN, and Virtual Museum of Canada. Hours of operation: Monday – Saturday (10 AM – 4 PM) The centre held an online art auction of works donated by artists and city collectors that ran until 9 p.m. on May 4. Proceeds would go to the Canada-Ukraine Fund, as well as Oseredok’s initiatives to assist Ukrainian refugees arriving in Manitoba.

The Olympic Rink was an indoor ice hockey arena in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It was located at the corner of Church Avenue and Charles Street in the North End neighbourhood. The site of the former rink was later occupied by the Olympic Towers apartments.

St. John's Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, which is the cathedral church of the Diocese of Rupert's Land. It is located in the Luxton neighbourhood of north-end Winnipeg on Anderson Avenue near Main Street and the Red River. St. John's Cathedral marks the birthplace of the Anglican Church in western Canada.
