Six Flags Discovery Kingdom (formerly known as Six Flags Marine World, Marine World, The New Marine World Theme Park, and Marine World Africa USA) is a 135-acre (55 ha) animal theme park located in Vallejo, California, off of Interstate 80 between San Francisco and Sacramento. The park includes a variety of roller coasters and other amusement rides. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom has been part of the Six Flags chain of amusement parks since 1999.

Superman: Ultimate Flight is a steel Premier Rides roller coaster located at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California. It opened to the public on June 30, 2012.

Blue Rock Springs Creek is a 3.4-mile-long (5.5 km) stream that rises on Sulfur Springs Mountain in southwestern Solano County, California. A bicycle trail is positioned along the creekside in some of the lower reaches. Water quality is impaired in Blue Rock Springs Creek due to historic cinnabar extraction in this watershed. Blue Rock Springs Creek has been tested for the toxin diazinon and found to have attained an elevated value of 40.9 micrograms per liter; diazinon is a toxic pesticide associated with golf course maintenance. The 36-hole Blue Rock Springs Golf Course lies in this watershed; although diazinon has been banned for golf course use in the U.S., its persistence in the environment is quite high. The stream has had application of a hydrological transport model to analyze flooding potential and to aid in the design of certain stream channel modification carried out in the last quarter of the 20th century to accommodate urbanization of some of the lower reaches. Cinnabar deposits were extracted from this watershed in the early 1900s at Hastings Mine and St. John's Mine. Shaft construction occurred no earlier than 1918 and mining had ceased by the year 1930.

Lake Chabot () is a small man-made lake in Vallejo, California, United States. The lake was built in 1871 and served as a water source for Vallejo until the city approved their own municipal water system in 1892.Dan Foley Park provides recreational access to the south side of the lake. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is on the lake's north side.

Kong is an inverted roller coaster located at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom amusement park in Vallejo, California. The Suspended Looping Coaster (SLC) model was manufactured by Vekoma and first opened to the public as Hangman at Opryland USA on May 1, 1995. Following Opryland's closure in 1997, the roller coaster was sold to Premier Parks and moved to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, where it reopened as Kong in May 1998.

Medusa is a steel roller coaster located at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California. Built by Bolliger & Mabillard, Medusa opened in 2000 as the first floorless roller coaster on the West Coast. The roller coaster features seven inversions, a 150-foot (46 m)-tall lift hill with a 150-foot (46 m) drop, and the first Sea serpent roll element ever built on a B&M roller coaster. The ride is the longest coaster in Northern California at 3,937 feet (1,200 m) long and is notable as having one of the largest vertical loops in the world at 128 feet (39 m). It also shares the height record in Northern California with another two rides in the same park, The Flash: Vertical Velocity, and Superman: Ultimate Flight at 150 feet (46 m) high.

Sutter Solano Medical Center (SSMC) is a 106-bed general acute care hospital located in Vallejo, California, the largest city in Solano County and second largest city in the North Bay (San Francisco Bay Area). It is part of Sutter Health. In 1907, Dr. James Hogan established the Hogan Hospital at Virginia Street and Sonoma Boulevard in Vallejo. A few years later, the hospital was sold to Tobe Williams, who in 1921 founded a new facility to replace Hogan Hospital. The new Vallejo General Hospital operated at its Tennessee Street location until 1969, when it moved to a new home by Lake Chabot. Vallejo General joined Sutter Health in 1984 and became Sutter Solano Medical Center.The Sutter Solano Cancer Center opened in 2005 and is accredited by the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer. As members of the Sutter Cancer Research Consortium, Sutter Solano participates in the National Cancer Institute's Cancer Research Network. In 2017, SSMC partnered with Tuoro University California in Vallejo to open a mobile diabetes education center.SSMC received an "A" grade for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group in 2013. It received a "C" in 2021. In 2020, SSMC received the Gold Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association for high quality heart failure care.

Vallejo ( və-LAY-(h)oh; Spanish: [baˈʎexo]) is a city in Solano County, California and the second largest city in the North Bay region of the Bay Area. Located on the shores of San Pablo Bay, the city had a population of 126,090 at the 2020 census. Vallejo is home to the California Maritime Academy, Touro University California and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Vallejo is named after Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, the famed Californio general and statesman. The city was founded in 1851 on General Vallejo's Rancho Suscol to serve as the capital city of California, which it served as from 1852 until 1853, when the Californian government moved to neighboring Benicia, named in honor of General Vallejo's wife Benicia Carrillo de Vallejo. The following year in 1854, authorities founded the Mare Island Naval Shipyard, which defined Vallejo's economy until the turn of the 21st century. Other nearby cities include American Canyon, Fairfield, Hercules, Martinez, Napa, Suisun City, and Vacaville.

Sean Monterrosa was a 22-year-old Latino American man who was fatally shot on June 2, 2020, by Vallejo police officer Jarrett Tonn. Monterrosa was on his knees and had his hands above his waist when Tonn shot him through the windshield of his unmarked police pickup truck. The police later said Tonn shot him because he erroneously believed a hammer in Monterrosa's pocket was a gun. Monterrosa later died at a local hospital.The event sparked outrage in the Bay Area, particularly in Vallejo, which has a long history of police violence, excessive force complaints, and high-profile killings, including the February 2018 shooting of Ronnell Foster and the February 2019 shooting of Willie McCoy.

Starting Gate was located in Vallejo, California on California's historic U.S. Route 40, serving the East and North Bay counties of the San Francisco area. The school was a co-educational pre-collegiate, non-profit facility governed by a board of trustees and supported by tuition revenue, charitable contributions, and endowment income. Starting Gate was a private K-12 school with a separate preschool facility.

Vallejo High School is a high school located in Vallejo, California. It is part of the Vallejo City Unified School District and has been in the heart of Vallejo for more than 100 years. It currently serves the west side of the city (west of Interstate 80). In February 2014, the School's mascot was changed from the Apaches to Redhawks. This was due to the controversy revolving around the use of the name of a Native American tribe as a mascot.

Jesse M. Bethel High School is a high school located in Vallejo, California. It is part of the Vallejo City Unified School District. The school opened in the Fall of 1998, with only two student body classes. It is located on 1800 Ascot Pkwy and serves the east side of Vallejo (to the right of Interstate 80).
