Babel Green

Hundon is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district in Suffolk, England. The village is about 3 miles (5 km) north-west of the small town of Clare, and 7 miles (11 km) from the larger town of Haverhill, and includes a primary school, post office, a village hall, the Rose & Crown public house, and All Saints Parish Church. At the south-west of the parish is the hamlet of Brockley Green which includes two farms and The Plough Inn public house.

Royal Air Force Stradishall or more simply RAF Stradishall is a former Royal Air Force station located 4.7 miles (7.6 km) north east of Haverhill, Suffolk and 9 miles (14 km) south west of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, England. Part of the site remains in use as Stradishall Training Area.

Clare Rural District was a rural district in the county of West Suffolk, England. It was created in 1894, comprising those parishes in the Risbridge rural sanitary district which were in Suffolk. On 1 April 1935 it was enlarged by the addition of the parishes of Lidgate and Ousden from the disbanded Moulton Rural District, Cavendish and Hawkedon from the Melford Rural District and Depden from the Thingoe Rural District. It was named after and administered from Clare. Since 1 April 1974 it has formed part of the Borough of St Edmundsbury.

HM Prison Highpoint North (formerly called Highpoint Prison and Edmunds Hill Prison) is a Category C men's prison, located in the village of Stradishall (near Haverhill) in Suffolk, England. The prison is operated by Her Majesty's Prison Service.

Stradishall is a village and civil parish in West Suffolk in the English county of Suffolk. The civil parish includes a number of hamlets including Farley Green. The Royal Air Force operated an airfield near Stradishall, RAF Stradishall, which was operational between 1938 and 1970. The former airfield is now the site of two category C prisons: HMP Highpoint North and HMP Highpoint South. Part of the former airfield remains a MOD training site which is closed to the public. There is a memorial to RAF Stradishall outside Stirling House which was once part of the officers quarters and now is a training unit for the Prison service. The village has an Anglican church dedicated to St Margaret.

Kedington is a village and civil parish in the West Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England, located between the towns of Clare and Haverhill in the south-west of Suffolk. Known as Doomtown in the Domesday Book (1086), there were 280 people living there at that time. Part of it was formerly in Essex. Kedington's church, St Peter and St Paul, is one of the historical treasures of East Anglia, dating from the late 13th century. However, the church is built on top of a Roman villa, the remains of which can be viewed under small trap doors located in the pews towards the back of the nave. There is an Anglo-Saxon stone cross located above the altar on the east wall of the church. This was found near to the church and is believed to be from a church dating from Saxon times. Kedington comes in the top rank of small English churches and is renowned for its unmodernised interior and Barnardiston tombs. John Betjeman understandably christened Kedington ' a village Westminster Abbey'. The 17th century Archbishop of Canterbury John Tillotson was rector of Kedington prior to his elevation.

Chipley Priory was a small Augustine religious house, dedicated to the Blessed Virgin, located about 1 mile (2 km) north-west of the village of Poslingford in the English county of Suffolk. The date of its foundation is unknown and the first references to it occur in 1235. The priory never became a major house – a taxation roll from 1291 shows its income at less than £5 per annum – and by 1455 the buildings were ruins. By 1468 the Bishop of Norwich allowed the lands to be annexed by the College at Stoke-next-Clare.The site is occupied by a 17th-century farmhouse which incorporates some medieval building material believed to come from the priory buildings. The priory church is believed to have been destroyed in 1818 and human remains and other artifacts have been recovered from the site, with a stone coffin and bell kept at Poslingford Church.A plaque erected on the site in 1990 by the Clopton Family Association, lists information about the occupants, burials and priors of the priory.

Cotton Hall is a Grade II listed stately home in the village of Kedington, Suffolk, England. It is located on the banks of the River Stour and is one of the ancient notable manor houses in the parish. From 1742 it was the seat of the prominent Bowyer family of Suffolk. The present building is a timber-frame and plaster structure estimated to be built between the 15th and 17th centuries. It was heavily restored in the 20th century.
