Shavington Academy (formerly Shavington High School) is a coeducational secondary school, located in Rope Lane, Shavington, Cheshire East, England. It is adjacent to the Shavington Leisure Centre. Previously a foundation school administered by Cheshire East Council, Shavington High School converted to academy status in September 2015 and was renamed Shavington Academy. However the school continues to coordinate with Cheshire East Council for admissions.

St Thomas More Catholic High School is a coeducational Roman Catholic secondary school for 11- to 16-year-olds, situated close to the centre of Crewe, in Cheshire, England. There are nearly 700 pupils on the roll at the current time. The schools headteacher is Katherine Packham, who gained this position in September 2023.

Shavington cum Gresty () is a civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It lies to the south of Crewe. It includes the large village of Shavington (at SJ699518), which lies 2+1⁄2 miles south of Crewe, as well as the smaller settlements of Dodds Bank, Park Estate, Puseydale, Sugar Loaf and part of Goodall's Corner. Nearby villages include Basford, Hough, Willaston, Wistaston and Wybunbury. The total population of the civil parish is a little under 5,000.

The College was a single campus situated in a residential area about one mile from Crewe town centre. It also served students from Nantwich, Alsager, Middlewich, Sandbach, Congleton and throughout South and East Cheshire. The College also provided courses for adults at a range of centres, including high street locations in Middlewich and Congleton.It merged in March 2017 with West Cheshire College to form Cheshire College – South & West, which retains the Crewe campus.

The Crewe Alexandra F.C. Academy is the player development centre of English Football League club Crewe Alexandra F.C. Set up by manager Dario Gradi in the late 1980s, it achieved official status as an FA Youth Academy in the late 1990s. By concentrating on developing its own players the club remained profitable (a rare thing in lower-division football at the time) by selling them on after they have gained experience with Crewe. The Academy is known to stress technical excellence, which accords with the aim to have the first team play attractive, passing football. Academy graduates include full England internationals Rob Jones, Danny Murphy, Seth Johnson and Dean Ashton and Wales international David Vaughan, plus the club's current manager and previous manager.

It had a population of 3,104 at the time of the 2011 census, up from 2,973 in 2001.Willaston is approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) southwest of Crewe town centre and 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Nantwich town centre. It is approximately 7 miles (11.3 km) from junction 16 of the M6 motorway and 3 miles (4.8 km) from Crewe railway station.
