Milton, Ulster County, New York

Milton station is a disused train station located on Dock Road at the Hudson River in Milton, New York, United States. It is a frame rectangular structure built for the West Shore Railroad in the late 19th century. Passenger service ended in 1959. The station survives with the Highland Falls station as one of the few extant West Shore Railroad passenger stations. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 2007 as the Milton Railroad Station. It has been used for tastings by a local winery, and a community group is renovating it to serve the Town of Marlborough as a community center.

Van Keurens is a hamlet in the town of Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York, United States. It was established by Matheus Van Keuren in the eighteenth century. The Van Keurens lived in Kingston, New York, but Matheus owned a foundry on a parcel of land on the Hudson River, close to what is now IBM, in the community of Spackenkill. Matheus forged at his foundry at Spackenkill many of the links of the chain used during the Revolutionary War as part of the Hudson River Chain around Fort Montgomery.The hamlet is now partly a wooded, unpopulated area between IBM and the Clinton Point Quarry owned by Tilcon, Inc., and part of land that rests on a Spackenkill residential community known informally as Crown Heights.

Locust Grove is a National Historic Landmark estate located on US 9 in the Town of Poughkeepsie, New York. The 200-acre park-like estate includes homes, a carriage house, ice house, trails, a flower garden, and vegetable garden, and it overlooks the Hudson River from a bluff. The property includes a home designed by architect Alexander Jackson Davis for Samuel F. B. Morse, the inventor of the telegraph. An Italianate style mansion, it was completed in 1851. The estate is open to the public, tours are offered, and the site is used for weddings and parties. It includes a museum, nature preserve, antique exhibits, and a gallery showing artworks.

Oakwood Friends School is a college preparatory school located at 22 Spackenkill Road in Poughkeepsie, New York, United States. With roots going back to Nine Partners Boarding School, founded in 1796, it is the oldest co-educational boarding and day school in New York state.

Crown Heights is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in Dutchess County, New York, United States. The population was 2,840 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Poughkeepsie–Newburgh–Middletown, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the larger New York–Newark–Bridgeport, NY-NJ-CT-PA Combined Statistical Area. Crown Heights is in the town of Poughkeepsie.

Marlborough is a town in Ulster County, New York, United States, in the southeastern corner of the county. The population was 8,712 at the 2020 census. U.S. Route 9W passes through the eastern part of the town. US Route 44 and NY 55 cross the northwestern corner of the town. The town was named after the Duke of Marlborough.

The Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery is a rural cemetery located in Poughkeepsie, New York and includes the gravesites of several notable figures. It also has a crematory. The forty-four acres of land used for the cemetery were purchased by Matthew Vassar.Some of its architectural features were designed by J. A. Wood. His work includes the cemetery gates and gatehouse, the Frost Mausoleum, and a monument for Matthew Vassar's nephew, John Guy Vassar.

Maple Grove is a historic estate located at Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York. The estate consists of eight contributing buildings: the main house, farmer's cottage (c. 1850), barn (c. 1850), carriage barn (c. 1850), garage (c. 1850), shed, and two cottages (c. 1830). Also on the property is a pair of contributing sandstone gateposts (c. 1850). The main house was built in 1850 in the Italianate style and remodeled in 1891. It is constructed of painted red brick and has a 2+1⁄2-story, three-bay, main block flanked by 2-story, three-bay-wide wings. It has a large, 2-story rear kitchen wing. It features a prominent 1-story open wood porch.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC) (formerly Vassar Brothers Hospital) is a 350-bed not-for-profit hospital overlooking the Hudson River in Poughkeepsie, New York. It is part of the Nuvance Health healthcare network and is the major medical center in Dutchess County, New York.

Springside was the estate of Matthew Vassar in Poughkeepsie, New York, United States. It is located on Academy Street just off US 9. Detailed plans for a landscape, villa, and complex of farm buildings were drawn up by the influential Andrew Jackson Downing with assistance of Calvert Vaux prior to the former's death. The landscaping was completed and remains Downing's most intact surviving landscape, but only a few of the buildings he planned were ever built; most have since been lost to fire and structural failure. A cottage where Vassar resided was dismantled and removed in the mid-1970s. Its facade is on display in the New York State Museum. Downing's landscape, in the English landscape gardening tradition, has survived several serious efforts to redevelop the property in the last half-century due to opposition from local preservationists. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Matthew Vassar Estate, and further it was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1969, but the estate was not permanently protected for almost two decades, when a lawsuit was settled with the transfer of the land to its current owners, Springside Landscape Restoration.

Lattingtown Baptist Church is a historic Baptist church located at Lattingtown, Ulster County, New York. The meeting house form building was built about 1810 during the Federal period. It is a two-story, heavy timber-frame structure with queen post and purlin roof framing. It was extensively renovated during the 19th century to add an eclectic blend of Gothic and picturesque-inspired elements. Also on the property is the church cemetery, with burials dating to 1817; privy; and stone walls.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Franny Reese State Park is a 251-acre (1.02 km2) state park located in the Town of Lloyd in Ulster County, New York. The park is managed by Scenic Hudson and is part of the Palisades Interstate Park system.
