The Conscience Point National Wildlife Refuge was established July 20, 1971, as a land gift from Stanley Howard. The 60-acre (24 ha) refuge is located in the hamlet of North Sea, New York, on the north shore of Long Island's south fork. The refuge protects grasslands, oak-beech forest, shrub habitats, kettle holes, freshwater marsh and salt marsh. The refuge grasslands are a habitat model for maritime grasslands, a disappearing habitat type on Long Island due to development. Maritime grasslands are native grasslands composed of little bluestem (Schizachyrium scoparium), switchgrass (Panicum virgatum), poverty grass (Danthonia spicata), hairgrass (Deschampsia flexuosa), and prickly pear cactus (Opuntia humifusa). Wildlife on the refuge is as diverse as its habitats. Waterfowl are primarily American black ducks and bufflehead. The grasslands are being managed and enlarged specifically to attract grassland dependent birds such as grasshopper sparrow, eastern meadowlark, Savannah sparrow and bobolink. Due to its coastal location, the refuge is heavily used by migratory songbirds, shorebirds and raptors. The refuge also supports endangered and threatened species.

Rosemary Lodge is a historic home located at Water Mill in Suffolk County, New York. It is a 2+1⁄2-story frame Shingle Style constructed in 1884 as an unfinished shell from plans prepared by architect Frederick W. Stickney. The rear wing was added in 1904. The house features a steep gable roof, broad porch, several upper story projections, and asymmetrical massing. The house was moved to its present site in 1985.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Capt. C. Goodale House is a historic home located at Southampton in Suffolk County, New York. It was built in 1875 and is a large 2+1⁄2-story, five bay residence with an original 2-story (flat roofed) rear wing and smaller period wing. It features a central entrance pavilion, mansard roof, and wraparound porch. It is an example of Second Empire architecture. Also on the property is a contributing privy.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Water Mill Museum is a historic water mill and local history museum located at 41 Old Mill Road, Water Mill in Suffolk County, New York, USA. It is a 2-story, heavy wood-frame structure with a wood-shingle exterior and composed of two building sections. There is a 2-story, square-shaped main section and 1-story, one-bay wing. Attached to the rear is a 2+1⁄2-story tower and 1-story glassed-in porch. The mill structure dates to the mid-17th century. It operated as a mill until the early 20th century. It is now a local museum.This local history Museum opens around Memorial Day every year, offering family-friendly exhibits all about this historical hamlet, founded in 1644. Events and experiences abound! The Museum is free, and first floor is handicapped accessible. National Golf Links of America is a prestigious links-style golf course in Southampton, New York, located on Long Island between Shinnecock Hills Golf Club and Peconic Bay. Though the course is noted for hosting the initial Walker Cup in 1922, which the United States won 8 and 4, it has never hosted a major men's championship. The Walker Cup was again held at the National in 2013. The private club has been called "America's snootiest golf course" due to its exclusive nature.

The 1922 Walker Cup, the first Walker Cup Match, was a team golf match played on August 28 and 29, 1922 at the National Golf Links of America in Southampton, New York. The United States won 8 to 4. There had been heavy rain for several days before the event and course was very wet.
