Tyrone, New York

Weston Schoolhouse is a historic one-room school building located at Weston in Schuyler County, New York. It is a one-room, one story, gable roofed frame building built about 1870. It was used as a school until 1940.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Lamoka Lake, previously known as Mud Lake, is a small crescent-shaped lake in the western part of New York state. The lake is located at the border of Schuyler County and Steuben County. Most of the lake is in Schuyler County with only a small part, called "Mill Pond," at the southwest corner in Steuben County. North of Lamoka Lake is another lake called Waneta Lake, previously known as "Little Lake", which is linked to Lamoka Lake by a short channel. Both Lamoka Lake and Waneta Lake are east of Keuka Lake, one of the Finger Lakes, however they are not part of the Finger Lakes drainage system. While the Finger Lakes drain north into the St. Lawrence River system, Lamoka and Waneta Lakes drain south into Mill Pond, then Mud Creek, and then to the Cohocton River in the Susquehanna River system. The area is the location of a significant archeological site, the Lamoka site, which, according to the National Park Service, "provided the first clear evidence of an Archaic hunting and gathering culture in the Northeastern United States (c.3500 BC)". The site was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1961.

Waneta Lake (previously known as "Little Lake") is a small lake in the Finger Lakes region of the state of New York in the United States. The lake straddles the border of Schuyler County and Steuben County, and is within the towns of Tyrone and Wayne. Waneta Lake is 3.5 miles long (north-to-south) and half a mile wide (east-to-west), and lies just east of the southern branch of Keuka Lake. Despite its location in the Finger Lakes region, it is not counted as one of the eleven Finger Lakes.

Bradford is a town in Steuben County, New York, United States. The population was 811 at the 2020 census. The town is named after Major Robert Bradford, and is located in the northeastern section of the county, north of Corning.

Wayne is a town located in the northeast corner of Steuben County, New York, United States. As of the 2020 census, the town population was 1,006. The town was named after the Revolutionary War general, Anthony Wayne. The Town of Wayne is northeast of Bath.

Second Baptist Church of Wayne, also known as the Wayne Village Baptist Church, is a historic Baptist church located at Wayne in Schuyler County, New York. It was built in 1846, and is a Greek Revival style frame church. It has a temple front and two single story additions dating from 1876 / 1921 and 1972. It features a projecting vestibule and a two-stage, domed bell tower contains the original bell cast in 1846.: 3–4 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Sproul Hill is a mountain in the Finger Lakes region of New York. It is located in west of Watkins Glen in Schuyler County. The mountain is the location of a 67-foot-6-inch-tall (20.57 m) steel fire lookout tower known as the Sugar Hill Fire Tower which was built in 1941. The tower ceased fire lookout operations at the end of 1988, and remains on the mountain and is open to the public.

Spicer-Millard House is a historic home located at Barrington in Yates County, New York. It is a five- by two-bay Federal style residence built about 1819.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

Orange is a town in Schuyler County, New York, United States. The population was 1,409 at the 2020 census.The Town of Orange is in the southwestern part of the county and is east of Bath.

Monterey Shock Incarceration Correctional Facility was a minimum security male shock facility located in the Town of Orange, Schuyler County, New York. The facility was served by the Beaver Dams post office. It was opened on May 1, 1958. New York's shock program was legalized in July 1987. In addition to no-nonsense military discipline, reduced privileges, in-your-face drill instructors and hard physical labor, the six-month shock program differed from other similar "boot camps" around the nation. It would stress education, drug and alcohol abuse treatment and a "therapeutic community" component. At first, inmates could be no older than 23 years old, but the New York State Legislature gradually extended shock programs to older inmates. By closing, inmates must be under 50 years old. The facility was closed on July 27, 2014, as part of Governor Cuomo's plan to shut down four correctional facilities across the state announced one year prior. The Cuomo administration cited a reduction in the state crime rate and drug offenses as a reason for the closure.

Cottages at Central Point are a set of four historic cottages located on the east shore of Keuka Lake in Wayne in Steuben County, New York. They were built in the late 1880s, and are two-story, wood-frame cottages with steep gable roofs and wide porches. The cottages feature eclectic Victorian stylistic elements including board-and-batten siding, decorative stick work and brackets, wrap around porches, and decorative balusters. The cottages are known as "Sans Souci," "Marjean Lodge," "Villula," and "Ultimatum."They were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

Garrett Memorial Chapel is a small Church in the Norman Gothic Style located on Bluff Point at Lake Keuka, in the town of Jerusalem, in Yates County, New York. On 30 March 2001 the Chapel was added to the National Register of Historic Places.The Chapel was built in 1930-1931 by the Garrett family of whom Paul Garrett was a major figure in the American wine industry as a memorial to his son Charles who had died of tuberculosis in January 1930. The rectangular plan building is constructed of ashlar granite with cast stone decorative elements. It features a polygonal apse, round arched openings, and a large square corner tower topped by a lantern and weathervane. On the lower level is the church crypt. Also on the property is a contributing concrete block lavatory.: 3–4, 6  Many of the stained glass windows in the chapel and the crypt were designed by Frederick Wilson.The Chapel is normally open from April to November and is serviced by a seasonal access road. The Chapel is non-denominational but is under the stewardship of the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester. It is a popular venue for weddings due to its architecture and scenic views of Keuka Lake and the surrounding area.
