Jaisalmer House is the former residence of the Maharawal of Jaisalmer in New Delhi. It is part of Lutyens Bungalow Zone (LBZ).

Dholpur House is the former residence of the Rana of Dholpur in Delhi. It is located next to India Gate on Shahjahan Road. It was constructed in the 1920s in the Art Deco style. The walls on the exterior are painted in white. Today the Union Public Service Commission is housed here. The interviews for recruiting candidates to the All India Services and Group A services for Government of India are conducted here.

The Union Public Service Commission (ISO: Saṅgh Lōk Sēvā Āyōg), commonly abbreviated as UPSC, is India's premier central recruitment agency for recruitment of all the Group 'A' officers under Government of India . It is responsible for appointments to and examinations for all of the Group 'A' posts of all the central government establishments which also includes all of the central public sector undertakings and all of the central autonomous bodies. While Department of Personnel and Training is the central personnel agency in India. UPSC conducts the Civil Services Examination is based on the British era Imperial Civil Service tests, as well as the civil service tests conducted by old Indian empires such as the Mauryan Empire and Mughal Empire. It is one of the most difficult competitive examinations in India. The agency's charter is granted by Part XIV of the Constitution of India, titled as Services Under the Union and the States. The commission is mandated by the Constitution for appointments to the services of the Union and All India Services. It is also required to be consulted by the Government in matters relating to the appointment, transfer, promotion and disciplinary matters. The commission reports directly to the President and can advise the Government through him. Although, such advice is not binding on the Government. Being a constitutional authority, UPSC is amongst the few institutions which function with both autonomy and freedom, along with the country’s higher judiciary and lately the Election Commission.The commission is headquartered at Dholpur House, in New Delhi and functions through its own secretariat. Dr. Manoj Soni has been the Chairman of UPSC since 5 April 2022.Established on 1 October 1926 as Public Service Commission, it was later reconstituted as Federal Public Service Commission by the Government of India Act 1935; only to be renamed as today's Union Public Service Commission after the independence.

The National Museum in New Delhi, also known as the National Museum of India, is one of the largest museums in India. Established in 1949, it holds a variety of articles ranging from pre-historic era to modern works of art. It functions under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. The museum is situated on Janpath. The blue–print of the National Museum had been prepared by the Gwyer Committee set up by the Government of India in 1946. The museum has around 200,000 works of art, mostly Indian, but some of foreign origin, covering over 5,000 years. It also houses the National Museum Institute of History of Art, Conservation and Museology on the first floor which was established in 1983 and has been a university since 1989, running master's and doctoral level courses in art history, conservation and museology.

Jamnagar House is the former residence of the Jam Sahib of Nawanagar State in Delhi. The office of the Deputy Commissioner of New Delhi district is located at Jamnagar House, Shahjahan Road in New Delhi. Central Wakf Council has its office in this building as well.

Kapurthala House is the former residence of the Maharaja of Kapurthala in Delhi. It is located close to Connaught Place. It is used by the state government of Punjab and is the residence of the Chief Minister whenever he visits the national capital.

Kota House is the former residence of the Maharao of Kota in New Delhi, India. It is located on Shahjahan Road. It has been used as a wartime military hospital and a military hostel. It is now a naval mess and hotel facility.

10, Janpath is a public-owned house on Janpath. At the time of Rajiv Gandhi's assassination in 1991, while he was campaigning for a second term as Prime Minister of India, 10, Janpath was his official residence, although he lived at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg while he was Prime Minister. 10, Janpath remains the residence of his widow Sonia Gandhi, who is a former President of Indian National Congress party. The national headquarters of Indian National Congress (INC) is right behind it on 24, Akbar Road. It was the residence of India's second Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri (1964–1966) and where his body lay in state on 11 January 1966. Today his biographical museum, Lal Bhadur Shastri Memorial is situated at 1, Motilal Nehru Place (formerly 10, Janpath), adjacent to the complex.10, Janpath is spread over 15,181 square meters in New Delhi.

Shahjahan Road (Hindi: शाहजहाँ मार्ग / रोड) is an important road of central New Delhi, India. It stretches from the India Gate junction on the north side and to the Taj Mansingh Hotel at the junction of Mansingh Road, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road, Humayun Road, Prithviraj Road and a road to Khan Market on the south. Also lined up on the Shahjahan Road are government houses for High Court Judges, Ministers and senior officials & bureaucrats in the Government of India. It is named after the Mughal Emperor of India, Shah Jahan.

Rajpath (formerly known as Kingsway) is a ceremonial boulevard in New Delhi, India, that runs from Rashtrapati Bhavan on Raisina Hill through Vijay Chowk and India Gate, National War Memorial to National Stadium, Delhi. The avenue is lined on both sides by huge lawns, canals and rows of trees. Considered to be one of the most important roads in India, it is where the annual Republic Day parade takes place on 26 January. Janpath (meaning "People's Way") crosses the road. Rajpath runs in east-west direction. Roads from Connaught Place, the financial centre of Delhi, run into Rajpath from north. After climbing Raisina Hill, Rajpath is flanked by the North and South Blocks of the Secretariat Building. Finally it ends at the gates of Rashtrapati Bhavan. At Vijay Chowk it crosses Sansad Marg, and the Parliament House of India can be seen to the right when coming from the India Gate. It is also used for the funeral processions of key political leaders of India.

The India Gate (formerly known as the All India War Memorial) is a war memorial located astride the Rajpath, on the eastern edge of the "ceremonial axis" of New Delhi, formerly called Kingsway. It stands as a memorial to 84,000 soldiers of the British Indian Army who died in between 1914 and 1921 in the First World War, in France, Flanders, Mesopotamia, Persia, East Africa, Gallipoli and elsewhere in the Near and the Far East, and the Third Anglo-Afghan War. 13,300 servicemen's names, including some soldiers and officers from the United Kingdom, are inscribed on the gate. Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, the gate evokes the architectural style of the memorial arch such as the Arch of Constantine, in Rome, and is often compared to the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, and the Gateway of India in Mumbai. Following the Bangladesh Liberation war in 1972, a structure consisting of a black marble plinth with a reversed rifle, capped by a war helmet and bounded by four eternal flames, was built beneath the archway. This structure, called Amar Jawan Jyoti (Flame of the Immortal Soldier), has since 1971 served as India's tomb of the unknown soldier. India Gate is counted amongst the largest war memorials in India and every Republic Day, the Prime Minister visits the gate to pay their tributes to the Amar Jawan Jyoti, following which the Republic Day parade starts. India Gate is often a location for civil society protests.

Delhi City Lok Sabha constituency was a Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency in Delhi from 1951-56. This constituency comprised the entire Kashmere Gate, Kotwali and Hauz Qazi police stations and part of Faiz Bazar police station (excluding the area covered by the erstwhile New Delhi Municipality) of Delhi, which was a Part C state from 1950-56.
