Gansevoort is a hamlet in the town of Northumberland in Saratoga County, New York, United States. The hamlet of Gansevoort is named for Peter Gansevoort, a hero in the siege of Fort Stanwix (Fort Schuyler) which contributed to the downfall of Burgoyne's army at the Battle of Saratoga during the Revolutionary War.

Gansevoort Mansion is a historic home located at Gansevoort in Saratoga County, New York. It was built in 1813 and is two-story, five-bay rectangular building with a gable roof and central entrance. It features a front verandah with fluted Doric order columns. It was once used as a Masonic Lodge. It was built by Herman Gansevoort (1779–1862), son of General Peter Gansevoort (1749–1812) and uncle of the American novelist Herman Melville. It is now operated as an inn and cafe. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

Dutch Reformed Church of Gansevoort is a historic Dutch Reformed church at 10 Catherine Street in Gansevoort, Saratoga County, New York. It was built about 1840 and is a two-story, rectangular brick building on a cut-stone foundation in a vernacular Greek Revival style. It is topped by a moderately pitched, slate-covered gable roof. It features a wooden belfry with louvered openings topped with a pedimented gable roof. The church closed in the 1950s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995, and was demolished in 1996.

Stark's Knob is a basaltic pillow lava formation near Schuylerville, New York, United States. It formed about 460 to 440 million years ago in relatively shallow sea water. It is often mistakenly referred to as a volcano, probably because early investigators described it as a volcano or volcanic plug.It was here during the Saratoga Campaign of the American Revolution that General John Stark of New Hampshire cut off the retreat of British General John Burgoyne's army, hence its name.

Schuylerville High School is located in Schuylerville, New York. The school teams are known as the Black Horses. The school colors are orange and black. It is a high school serving grades K-12. Schuylerville is a member of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) and competes as a Class B school in Section II with a league affiliation in the Foothills Council.Schuylerville encompasses parts of seven townships: Easton, Fort Edward, Greenwich, Northumberland, Saratoga, Stillwater and Wilton. It is in the Hudson Valley of upstate New York, 10 miles east of Saratoga Springs and 40 miles north of Albany. The area's first schools to the late 1700s and by the late 1800s there were 12 different districts within the town. New schools were continually built to accommodate a growing population. Schuylerville High School opened in 1926 at the corner of Spring Street and Broadway. It cost $225,000. General Stark's house was moved from the site to make way for the school. Additions were added in 1938 and 1947.The Schuylerville Central School District was formed in 1946 and the Jr.-Sr. High School was constructed in 1955 followed by an elementary school in 1966. Additions, renovations and upgrades followed.In 1990, a lawsuit arose between the Schuylerville school board and a local Jewish family, over the removal of a painting depicting the crucifixion of Christ from public display in the school auditorium. This lawsuit, which the school lost, was said to have prompted a visit to Schuylerville by a Ku Klux Klan member. At the same time, the Reverend Al Sharpton staged a counter-protest over the presence of the Klan.

The Batten Kill, Battenkill, or Battenkill River is a 59.4-mile-long (95.6 km) river rising in Vermont that flows into New York and is a tributary of the Hudson River. It is the longest Hudson tributary on that river's east. As "kill" means a creek, the name "Battenkill River" is pleonastic.The mouth of the Batten Kill is in Easton, New York, and the source of the river is in East Dorset, Vermont. The river is known for its fishing, as it has a prominent trout population. The Shushan Covered Bridge crosses it at one point, and the headquarters of the Orvis Corporation are also located along its course. The Batten Kill valley is home to the Tour of the Battenkill, the largest road cycling race in North America.The Native American name for the river is either Dionoondehowee or Ondawa.
