The Boston Stock Exchange (now NASDAQ BX, formerly BSE) is a regional stock exchange located in Boston, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1834, making it the third-oldest stock exchange in the United States. On October 2, 2007, NASDAQ agreed to acquire BSE for $61 million.

Pioneer Institute is a free-market think tank based in Boston, Massachusetts. The organization was founded in 1988 by Lovett C. Peters. Pioneer's stated mission is "to develop and communicate dynamic ideas that advance prosperity and a vibrant civic life in Massachusetts and beyond."

101 Federal Street is a skyscraper on Federal Street in the Financial District neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. Completed in 1988, the 116 meter (381 ft) building was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates PC. The building is also known as 75–101 Federal Street These buildings contain 800,000 sq ft (74,000 m2) of office space.

Winthrop Square is a public square in Boston, Massachusetts. It is located in the city's financial district, in a small plot between Otis Street to the west and Devonshire Street to the east. It is three blocks south of the Old State House and two blocks west of Post Office Square.

Franklin Place, designed by Charles Bulfinch and built in Boston, Massachusetts in 1793-95, included a row of sixteen three-story brick townhouses that extended in a 480-foot curve, a small garden, and four double houses. Constructed early in Bulfinch's career, Franklin Place came after he had seen the possibilities of modern architecture in Europe and had determined to reshape his native city. It was the first important urban housing scheme undertaken in the United States, and the city's first row-house complex. However, years of decline and the push of industry into the area forced its demolition in 1858.

The Boston Library Society was an American subscription library established in New England's pre-eminent city, Boston, during 1792. Early subscribers included Revolutionary War figures Paul Revere and William Tudor. The society existed until 1939 when it merged into a larger historical library known as the Boston Athenæum.

The Odeon (1835 – c. 1846) of Boston, Massachusetts, was a lecture and concert hall on Federal Street in the building also known as the Boston Theatre. The 1,300-seat auditorium measured "50 feet square" with "red moreen"-upholstered "seats arranged in a circular order, and above them ... spacious galleries." The Boston Academy of Music occupied the Odeon in the 1830s and 1840s Notable events at the Odeon included "the first performance in Boston of a Beethoven symphony."

The Federal Street Theatre (1793–1852), also known as the Boston Theatre, was located at the corner of Federal and Franklin streets in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. It was "the first building erected purposely for theatrical entertainments in the town of Boston."

Winthrop Center, is an under construction skyscraper in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. When completed, Winthrop Center would stand as the fourth-tallest building in Boston, Massachusetts. The tower is being built on the site of the defunct Winthrop Square Garage in the Financial District.

The Compton Building is a historic building at 159, 161-175 Devonshire Street and 18-20 Arch Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The eleven-story Classical Revival office tower was built in 1902–03 to a design by Winslow & Bigelow. It was connected by internal connections to the adjacent International Trust Company Building in 1961, when the two buildings were under common ownership. The building now houses the Club Quarters Hotel. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

The Wigglesworth Building is a historic building at 89-83 Franklin Street in the Financial District of Boston, Massachusetts. The five-story Neo-Gothic Panel Brick building was constructed in 1873, and was one of the first buildings rebuilt after the Great Boston Fire of 1872. Designed by Nathaniel Bradlee of Bradlee, Winslow & Wetherell, it features a curving red panel brick front with detailed sandstone panels. The top floor, added in 1885, is set back from the main facade and features arched windows. It was apparently designed by Peabody & Stearns, who did design work for the building after an 1884 fire.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Federal Street Church (established 1729) was a congregational Unitarian church in Boston, Massachusetts. Organized in 1727, the originally Presbyterian congregation changed in 1786 to "Congregationalism", then adopted the liberal theology of its fifth Senior Minister, William Ellery Channing, (1780–1842). For most of the 18th century the church was known as the Long Lane Meeting-House. In 1788, state leaders met in the relatively spacious building to determine Massachusetts' ratification of the United States Constitution. Thereafter the church renamed itself the Federal Street Church in honor of the event. In 1803, it called William Ellery Channing, (1780–1842), as its minister who defined "Unitarian Christianity" and launched the Unitarian movement, making the Federal Street Church one of the first to define itself as Unitarian.
