Canadice, New York

Honeoye Lake ( HUN-ee-oy) is one of the Finger Lakes located in Ontario County, New York. Most of the lake is within the town of Richmond but a smaller southwestern part is in the town of Canadice. The hamlet of Honeoye is just north of the lake. The name Honeoye comes from the Seneca word ha-ne-a-yah, which means lying finger, or where the finger lies. The name comes from the local story of a Native American whose finger was bitten by a rattlesnake and who therefore cut off his finger with a tomahawk.

Canadice Lake is the smallest Finger Lake of western New York. The lake is located approximately 30 miles (48 km) south of Rochester. The name is derived from the Iroquois word ska-ne-a-dice, meaning long lake. The lake is part of the Genesee River watershed.

Honeoye Lake Boat Launch State Park is a nine-acre (3.6 ha) state park located along the southeastern shore of Honeoye Lake, one of New York's Finger Lakes. Due to its location at the northern tip of Honeoye Lake and seasonal recreational population, the hamlet contains several businesses, including gas stations and grocery, drug, liquor, hardware, auto-parts, and convenience stores. It also contains several restaurants, a doctor's office, dentist's office, and Honeoye Central School, which is K-12. There are also multiple churches, a fire station, public library, beach, park, state boat launch, and hiking trail.

Richmond is a town in Ontario County, New York, United States. The population was 3,380 at the 2020 census. The town is named after Abigail Richmond Pitts, an early settler. The town of Richmond is on the western border of the county, south of Rochester.

Hemlock Lake is one of the minor Finger Lakes. It is mostly located in Livingston County, New York, south of Rochester, with a portion overlapping into Ontario County. Hemlock is a translation of the Seneca name for the lake, O-neh-da Te-car-ne-o-di.

Hemlock Fairground is a national historic district and fairground located at Hemlock in Livingston County, New York. The district covers 35.6 acres (144,000 m2) with five contributing buildings and one contributing object, the racetrack. There are two clusters of buildings near the racetrack. One cluster consists of the grandstand (constructed 1870) and livestock sheds located along the perimeter of the track at the southwest corner of the site. The second cluster consists of exhibition buildings located east of the track.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Frost Hill is a mountain in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. It is located west of Bristol Springs in Ontario County. At an elevation of 2,284 feet (696 m), the mountain is the highest point in Ontario County. It is about 1.25 miles (2.01 km) southwest of the 2,150-foot (660 m) Worden Hill, where Bristol Mountain Ski Resort is.
