Murphy Grist Mill, also known as the Old Mill, is a historic grist mill located at Poughquag, Dutchess County, New York. It was built in 1889, and is a two-story, front-gabled, vernacular frame building with a stone and concrete foundation. It has a one-story, hipped roof porch supported by simple contemporary posts. Also on the property are the contributing ruins of a stone mill dam. During his 1909 campaign for New York State Senate, Franklin Delano Roosevelt gave a political speech from the porch of the mill building. The mill remained in use until about 1940. Franklin Delano Roosevelt Jr. purchased the property in 1949 and the mill was used primarily for storage. During the mid-1980s, it was given to the Town of Beekman and restoration began in 2014.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2015 by local non-profit Youth for Restoration.

Sylvan Lake is a hamlet in the Town of Beekman, Dutchess County, New York, United States. It is named after the lake it sits on, which was formed during the Ice Age.The early Indians originally named it "poughquag", which means "round body of water". A smaller lake known as Hidden Lake is where Daniel Delany, in the late 19th century, discovered iron ore and made his fortune. He eventually bought the adjacent property which was the entire shoreline of Sylvan Lake and rebuilt St. Denis Church for the town. Some iron ore mining also took place along the shores of Sylvan Lake in the early 1930s and some of these retainer wall pilings are still standing and can be clearly seen from a boat. When the mine was filled with water, construction equipment and mining tools were left on the bottom, and are present today.

Green Haven Correctional Facility is a maximum security prison in New York. The prison is located in the Town of Beekman in Dutchess County. The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision lists the address as Route 216, Stormville, NY 12582. This prison housed New York's execution chamber during the time the state briefly had the death penalty (but never used it) in the post-Furman era. It was originally a federal prison and now houses maximum security inmates. Green Haven Correctional Facility also operated a Hot Kosher Foods Program; but no longer does as of 2020. However, because of this, the prison had a large Jewish population. Yale Law School operates the Green Haven Prison Project, a series of seminars among Yale law students and Green Haven inmates on law and policy issues concerning prisons and criminal law.

Camp Kinder Ring is a nonprofit 501(c)(3), Jewish summer camp located in Hopewell Junction, New York, accredited by the American Camp Association and run by The Workers Circle.

Chelsea Cove is a census-designated place (CDP) located in the town of Beekman in Dutchess County, New York, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.Chelsea Cove is in southern Dutchess County, in the western part of Beekman, on the northern side of Sylvan Lake. It is 14 miles (23 km) southeast of Poughkeepsie and 10 miles (16 km) northeast of Fishkill.

Stormville Airport (FAA LID: N69) was a public airport located one mile (2 km) northeast of the central business district (CBD) of Stormville, a hamlet located within the Town of East Fishkill in Dutchess County, New York, USA. This general aviation airport covered 155 acres (63 ha) and had one runway. It is no longer used as an airport, even though FAA sectional charts and NOTAMS do not yet indicate that it has closed. It now hosts the Stormville Flea Market several times a year. Stormville was a privately owned, public use airport. Pete and Rose O'Brien ran the airport until their retirement. The current owner is their daughter Patricia Carnahan. There are no services for aircraft and no aircraft based there. Airport facilities such as runways, taxiways, wind sock, and pavement markings are in poor condition.

St. Denis Church is a Roman Catholic parish church under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located in Hopewell Junction, Dutchess County, New York. It was established in 1899 as a parish; it was established a mission of St. Mary in Wappingers Falls in 1874 until being elevated in a parish in 1899.

The Storm–Adriance–Brinckerhoff House is located on Beekman Road (Dutchess County Route 9) in East Fishkill, New York, United States. It is a wooden building in three parts, the oldest of which dates to the mid-18th century. Some of its inhabitants have been among the prominent residents of the county, and the state. Thomas Storm, a captain in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, later served as the state Assembly Speaker. He had George Washington as a guest one night. Members of the Brinckerhoff family, longtime inhabitants of the area, lived in the house until 1930. The house is considered an excellent, well-preserved example of Dutch Colonial architecture. Its modifications and additions reflect changing tastes over the time it was within the Storm family. In 2008 it, along with several other structures on the property, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has been described as "the most historically significant house" in East Fishkill because of the Washington connection.

Beekman Meeting House and Friends' Cemetery is located on Emans Road in LaGrangeville, New York, United States. The meeting house is a wooden building from the early 19th century that has been unused and vacant for decades. As a result, it is in an advanced state of decay, and mostly collapsed. The cemetery, better preserved, is located a short distance away. The meeting house was built in 1809 for a meeting that split off from another one in the nearby hamlet of Oswego. After the Hicksite-Orthodox schism in 1828, it was one of only two meetings in the county to embrace Orthodox Quakerism. After that meeting dissolved in the early 20th century, it was for a time a Grange hall. It and its nearby cemetery were added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Church (LaGrangeville, New York) is a Roman Catholic parish church located in Lagrangeville, Dutchess County, under the authority of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York. It was established as a mission of St. Columba in Hopewell Junction in 1998 before being elevated to parish status in 2002. The church was built 2006–2008.

Bykenhulle, originally known as Ivy Hall, is a historic house located on Bykenhulle Road near the hamlet of Hopewell Junction, New York, United States, in the Town of East Fishkill. It is a wooden house in the Greek Revival architectural style. First built in the middle of the 19th century by a member of the locally prominent Adriance family, it was originally the center of a large farmstead. By the early 20th century the failing farm was subdivided, leaving the house on a smaller lot. A later set of owners bought it for use as a country retreat and renamed it after the original Dutch spelling of their name. They renovated and restored the house with the intent of preserving its historic character. It retains enough despite the much newer residential construction around it that, in 1991, it and two of its outbuildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Currently it is used as a bed and breakfast.

Shorehaven is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Pawling in Dutchess County, New York, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census.Shorehaven is in southeastern Dutchess County, along the western edge of the town of Pawling. The CDP is bordered to the west by the town of Beekman. The community surrounds Whaley Lake, which drains north via Whaley Lake Stream to Fishkill Creek, a southwestward-flowing tributary of the Hudson River. New York State Route 292 runs through Shorehaven along the western side of Whaley Lake. The state highway leads north 2 miles (3 km) to NY 55 in West Pawling and southeast 6 miles (10 km) to Patterson.
