Tsukijishijō Station

Chūō (中央区, Chūō-ku) is a special ward that forms part of the heart of Tokyo, Japan. The ward refers to itself in English as Chūō City. It was formed in 1947 as a merger of Kyobashi and Nihonbashi wards following Tokyo City's transformation into Tokyo Metropolis. Chūō-ku, as a combination of Kyobashi and Nihonbashi, is the core of Shitamachi, the original downtown center of Edo-Tokyo. Literally meaning "Central Ward", it is historically the main commercial center of Tokyo, although Shinjuku has risen to challenge it since the end of World War II. The most famous district in Chūō is Ginza, built on the site of a former silver mint from which it takes its name. The gold mint, or Kinza (金座), formerly occupied the site of the present-day Bank of Japan headquarters building, also in Chūō. As of May 1, 2015, the ward has an estimated resident population of 141,454, and a population density of 13,850 persons per km2. The total area is 10.21 km2. However, because of the concentration of businesses, offices and retail space, the daytime population swells to an estimated 650,000.

The Nakagin Capsule Tower Building, known outside Japan as the Nakagin Capsule Tower, is a mixed-use residential and office tower designed by architect Kisho Kurokawa and located in Shimbashi, Tokyo, Japan. Completed in two years from 1970 to 1972, the building is a rare remaining example of Japanese Metabolism (alongside the older Kyoto International Conference Center), an architectural movement emblematic of Japan's postwar cultural resurgence. It was the world's first example of capsule architecture ostensibly built for permanent and practical use. The building, however, fell into disrepair. Around thirty of the 140 capsules was still in use as apartments by October 2012, while others were used for storage or office space, or simply abandoned and allowed to deteriorate. As recently as August 2017 capsules could still be rented (relatively inexpensively, considering the Ginza locale), though the waiting list remains long.In March 2022, it was announced that the building would be demolished. The tower was scheduled to be disassembled starting April 12, 2022, with component units repurposed. Attempts to raise fund to save it and campaigns to preserve it as an historic landmark were unsuccessful. The building is being disassembled, not merely torn down.

The Tsukiji Market (築地市場, Tsukiji shijō), supervised by the Tokyo Metropolitan Central Wholesale Market (東京都中央卸売市場, Tōkyō-to Chūō Oroshiuri Shijō) of the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs, was the largest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world. It was also one of the largest wholesale supermarkets of any kind. The market opened on 11 February 1935 as a replacement for an older market that was destroyed in the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake. It was closed on 6 October 2018, with operations moving to the new Toyosu Market.The market was located in Tsukiji in central Tokyo between the Sumida River and the upmarket Ginza shopping district. When the inner wholesale market was operational, it offered only restricted access to visitors. While the inner wholesale market has closed, the outer retail market, restaurants, and associated restaurant supply stores remain operational, and the area is still a major tourist attraction for both domestic and overseas visitors.

Namiyoke Inari Shrine (波除稲荷神社, Namiyoke inari-jinja) is a Shinto shrine located in Tsukiji, Chūō, Tokyo. It is an Inari shrine that was built on the water's edge when this part of Tokyo (then Edo) was created from landfill after the Great Fire of Meireki in 1657. The name of the shrine literally means "protection from waves." After the Tsukiji fish market was established in its present location after the 1923 Great Kantō earthquake, the Namiyoke Inari Shrine became an unofficial guardian shrine for the marketplace and its traders. The courtyard of the shrine is dotted with various memorial plaques and carvings donated by trade groups in the marketplace.

The Dentsu Building or Dentsu Headquarters Building (電通本社ビル, Dentsū Honsha Biru) is a high-rise building in the Shiodome area of Minato, Tokyo, Japan. The building houses the corporate offices of Dentsu.

Higashi-ginza Station (東銀座駅, Higashi-ginza-eki) is a subway station on the Toei Asakusa Line, operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation, and on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line. The Hibiya Line station is subtitled "Kabukiza-mae". The station is located in Ginza, Chūō, Tokyo, Japan. Its numbers are A-11 and H-10.

Ad Museum Tokyo (アド・ミュージアム東京, Ado Myuciamu Tokyo) is an advertising museum in Higashi-Shinbashi in the Minato ward of Tokyo, Japan. Located in the basement of the Caretta Shiodome Building, it is the only museum in Japan dedicated to the promotion of studies in advertising.

Kabuki-za (歌舞伎座) in Ginza is the principal theater in Tokyo for the traditional kabuki drama form.

Tsukiji Hongan-ji (築地本願寺), sometimes archaically romanized Hongwan-ji, is a Jodo Shinshu Buddhist temple located in the Tsukiji district of Tokyo, Japan. The temple is adjacent to Tsukiji Station on the Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line.

Shiodome Freight Terminal (汐留駅, Shiodome-eki) was a freight terminal of the Japanese National Railways (JNR) in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. The freight terminal was built on the site of the original Shimbashi Station (新橋駅, Shinbashi-eki) which served as the first railway terminal of Tokyo between 1872 and 1914.
