St Garmon's Church, Llanfechain, is in the village of Llanfechain, Powys, Wales. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Llanfyllin, the archdeaconry of Montgomery, and the diocese of St Asaph, and is designated by Cadw as a Grade II* listed building. The church is traditionally associated with a 9th-century Celtic saint, St Garmon. St Garmon was most likely St Germanus (410–474), the first Bishop of Man. It shares it name with the church in the village of St Harmon in Radnorshire (Powys), where the diarist Francis Kilvert was a curate.

Llanfechain is a village and community in Powys, Wales, on the B4393 road between Llanfyllin and Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain. Historically it belonged to Montgomeryshire. The River Cain runs through. The population of 465 at the 2011 Census was estimated at 476 in 2019.

Llanfechain railway station is a former station in Llanfechain, Powys, Wales. The station opened in 1865 and closed in 1965. The station site is now a private residence and the trackbed filled in to platform level.

Aithnen is a small settlement in Powys, Wales. It is 10 kilometres (6 mi) southwest of the town of Oswestry.

Bryngwyn Halt railway station is a disused station that was on the Llanfyllin Branch of the Cambrian Railways. It served the villages of Bwlch-y-cibau and Brynderwen between 1863 and 1965.

Llangedwyn Halt railway station was a station on the Tanat Valley Light Railway in Llangedwyn, Powys, Wales. The station opened in 1904 and closed in 1951. There was a passing loop so there were two platforms with waiting shelters situated to the east of a level crossing. There was a siding from the east end serving the goods yard to the north of the station. The site today is occupied by Llangedwyn Home Farm.

Bwlch-y-Cibau also known as the "pass of the husks" in English, is a small village located between Llanfyllin and Welshpool. It is situated on the A490. It is in the community of Meifod.

St Cedwyn's Church at Llangedwyn was formerly in the historic county of Denbighshire but since 1996 has been within the Montgomeryshire Shire Area of Powys, Wales. St Cedwyn's was a chapel of ease of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant. Llangedwyn is 7 miles south-west of Oswestry and to the south of the Berwyn Mountains. Saint Cedwyn may have been a son of the 5th century saint and princess Saint Madryn.The church was extensively restored in 1869–70 by Benjamin Ferrey under the patronage of Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn of Llangedwyn Hall, but incorporates medieval masonry in its west and east walls, and also retains a Romanesque-revival porch of c.1840, very probably by Thomas Penson. Further restoration was undertaken by Herbert Luck North before 1907, including the addition of a dormer window to the roof on the north side.

Llangedwyn is a village in Montgomeryshire, Powys, Wales. The population of the community at the 2011 census was 402. The community includes the hamlet of Pen-y-bont Llanerch Emrys. It lies in the Tanat Valley near to the Wales/England border. It is approximately five miles from the small town of Llanfyllin and ten miles from the Shropshire market town of Oswestry. The Berwyn mountain range is nearby, as is Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall. The ruins of Owain Glyndŵr's Sycharth castle lie a few miles outside the village towards Llansilin. Sir Watkin Williams-Wynn, 10th Baronet, heir of Owain Gwynedd, lived his final years at Llangedwyn Hall. The hall is a Grade II listed building and its gardens and park are listed at Grade II* on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.

Abercynllaith, also sometimes referred to as Aberkenllith, is a hamlet, between Llangedwyn and Pen-y-bont in northeastern Powys, Wales. It lies to the southwest of Oswestry, Shropshire, along the B4396 road, near the English border.

Llansilin Road railway station was a station on the Tanat Valley Light Railway in Llangedwyn, Powys, Wales. It had the "Road" suffix due to being 3 miles south from Llansilin and 4 miles by road. The station was located close to the hamlet of Pen-y-bont Llanerch Emrys, two miles east of Llangedwyn village, where the road from Llansilin joins the valley. The station opened in 1904 and formally closed in 1951. The short platform was situated between the railway and the road and had a corrugated iron shelter with a forward sloping roof, two lamps and a nameboard. There was a loop on the north side to serve a cattle dock as well as a siding from the west end serving a wharf in the goods yard, all controlled by a ground frame. The platform is still extant in the goods yard site.

Llwyn Bryn-Dinas is an Iron Age hillfort on the north side of the Tanat valley, about 1 mile (1.6 km) west of the village of Llangedwyn, in Powys, Wales.
