Strawberry Line (Miniature Railway)

Avon Valley Country Park is a 50-acre (20 ha) country park in Keynsham, Somerset, England. The park offers a variety of rides for children including Chair-o-planes, a small children's chair swing, Dino Jeeps (a dirt track with dinosaur animatronics where children drive miniature electric jeeps), the Big Red, an outdoors drop slide, the Strawberry Line Miniature Railway, and the Play Barn (a big indoor softplay area with a drop slide which is taller than the outside one). There are also animals in Pets' Corner and the Animal Barn.The site was common grazing land in the 15th century and later became a farm. In 1976, it was purchased as a "pick-your-own" fruit farm and subsequently developed into the country park.

Bitton Association Football Club is a football club based in the South Gloucestershire suburb of Bitton, in England. Affiliated to the Gloucestershire County Football Association, they play at the Recreation Ground on Bath Road.

Wellsway School is a mixed comprehensive school on the eastern side of Keynsham, Somerset, England, for students aged 11 to 18. In November 2021, there were 1,266 students attending the school, which is run by Futura Learning Partnership and has been an academy since October 2011.

Bitton railway station is the main station (and headquarters) of the Avon Valley Railway. It is located near the village of Bitton, South Gloucestershire. The station was opened on 4 August 1869, however was shut due to the Beeching cuts, closing to freight trains on 5 July 1965, and to passengers on 7 March 1966. However, it was reopened by the Avon Valley Railway heritage railway in 1972. The station was served by the Midland Railway-operated Mangotsfield and Bath branch line, which now has become the Bristol and Bath Railway Path cycle route.

The River Boyd is a river of some 7 miles (11 km) in length which rises near Dodington in South Gloucestershire, England. It is a tributary of the Bristol Avon, running in a southerly direction and joining near Bitton. The flow rate at Bitton is an average 19.8 cubic feet per second (0.56 m3/s). It was immortalised in the 1613 poem by John Dennys of Pucklechurch The Secrets of Angling, the earliest English poetical tract on fishing: And thou sweet Boyd that with thy watry sway Dost wash the cliffes of Deington and of Weeke And through their Rockes with crooked winding way Thy mother Avon runnest soft to seeke In whose fayre streames the speckled Trout doth play The Roche the Dace the Gudgin and the Bleeke Teach me the skill with slender Line and Hooke To take each Fish of River Pond and Brooke. In common with other rivers of the area, watermills were used for various industrial undertakings, most notably the Wick Golden Valley Ochre Works. The former works site is now a local nature reserve and the river and valley form part of a Site of Nature Conservation Interest.

Willsbridge is a village in the unitary authority of South Gloucestershire, England, located on the outskirts of Bristol. Willsbridge Castle, situated on a prominent hillside site, was built around 1730, with crenellations added in the nineteenth century. The village contains a nature reserve and historic buildings next to the Siston Brook. The mill and barn buildings are managed by a voluntary group, Willsbridge Mill Community Refresh, for community use. The valley contains many habitats. The woodlands have carpets of Common Bluebells, champions and resound with birdsong. The ponds are homes for frogs, toads and dragonflies, and dippers and kingfishers visit the stream. Foxes and badgers live in the valley and noctule and Greater Horseshoe Bat feed on the insects in the valley.Willsbridge was the childhood home of composer Robert Lucas de Pearsall. Though he sold the family home in 1837 after his mother’s death, he continued to be credited in scores as 'Pearsall of Willsbridge.’

Avon Riverside is the newest station (and current terminus) of the Avon Valley Railway. It opened on 1 May 2004.Unlike the other two stations on the railway, there was no original mainline station here. The station was built in 2004 by the AVR, to allow connections to the local country park and the river landing stage. There is no vehicle access to Avon Riverside. Access is provided for cyclists and walkers by the Bristol & Bath Railway Path, and by train from Bitton.

Siston Brook rises in two separate streams which issue from a ridge just north of the village of Siston, South Gloucestershire, England. The brook is approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) long and is a tributary of the Bristol Avon. Much of its course is through the eastern suburbs of Bristol, although it remains outside the city boundaries. Tributaries include the Warmley Brook and an unnamed tributary from Bridgeyate. The stream has provided power for watermills and battery mills in the past and some mill buildings still survive. Wildlife is supported by nature reserves through which the Siston Brook runs. Flooding has caused problems in the past, but modern measures to alleviate this include an attenuation reservoir and proposals to reinstate historic weirs and sluices. The name Siston is believed to derive from Anglo-Saxon, meaning Sige's Farmstead.

Stidham Farm (grid reference ST682684) is a 17.3 hectare geological Site of Special Scientific Interest near the town of Keynsham, Bath and North East Somerset, notified in 1991. This site contains Pleistocene terrace-gravels of the River Avon. At least 2 metres (7 ft) of sandy gravels are recorded, consisting of limestone clasts mainly, but also with Millstone Grit, Pennant Sandstone, flint and chert clasts. The site is of considerable importance for studies relating to the possible glaciation of the area, and of the terrace stratigraphy, particularly as it is one of only two accessible terrace deposits in this part of the Avon valley.

Bitton is a village and civil parish of South Gloucestershire in England, to the east of the Greater Bristol area on the River Boyd. It is in South Gloucestershire. The parish of Bitton has a population of 9,307, and apart from the village itself, includes Swineford, Upton Cheyney, Beach, Oldland Common, North Common and part of Willsbridge.

Keynsham Lock is a canal lock situated on the River Avon at Keynsham, England. The Bristol Avon Navigation, which runs the 15 miles (24 km) from the Kennet and Avon Canal at Hanham Lock to the Bristol Channel at Avonmouth, was constructed between 1724 and 1727, following legislation passed by Queen Anne, by a company of proprietors and the engineer John Hore of Newbury. The first cargo of 'Deal boards, Pig-Lead and Meal' arrived in Bath in December 1727. The navigation is now administered by the Canal & River Trust. The old bridge next to the lock played a part in the Civil War as the Roundheads saved the town and also camped there for the night, using the pub now known as the Lock Keeper's Inn as a guard post. The lock opened in 1727.Just above the lock are some visitor moorings and a pub, on an island between the lock and the weir. The weir side of the island is also the mouth of the River Chew. The adjacent bridge was replaced after damage in the Great Flood of 1968.

The A431 is an A road running from Bristol to Bath in England. It runs parallel to, and about 3 miles (4.8 km) to the north of, the A4, the principal route between Bristol and Bath on the south side of the River Avon.
