St. Paul United Methodist Church (Atlanta)

The Lemuel P. Grant Mansion is a historic house located on St. Paul Avenue between Broyles and Grant streets in the Grant Park neighborhood of Atlanta. It is one of only three antebellum houses in the city of Atlanta still standing in their original locations. It is also by far the closest to what were in the 1860s the Atlanta city limits. The mansion was owned by Lemuel P. Grant, Atlanta's quintessential railroad man as well as a major landowner and civic leaderafter. Grant donated the land for Grant Park, which was named for him. The three-story, Italianate mansion was built in 1856. The house was constructed of buff stucco with 2-foot (61 cm) wide walls, 10-foot (3.0 m) windows, nine fireplaces and a ballroom.

Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery is a non-profit art space and venue in Atlanta, Georgia, founded by American painter Woody Cornwell and musician and journalist Marshall Avett, and focused on contemporary art and experimental music ranging from contemporary chamber music and sound sculpture to drone noise music and art rock. Until January 1, 2011, the organization was located in the Old Fourth Ward district, and had three art gallery spaces and one space for music and performance. It hosted approximately 180 events yearly. Established in 1998, Eyedrum is one of the longest-running art and performance spaces in Atlanta managed by volunteers. Eyedrum often organizes events in collaboration with community partners, including the annual Listening Machines events with Georgia Institute of Technology, Henry W. Grady High School art department, and The Film Love series of art films. Besides visual art exhibitions and performances it also hosts films, lectures, and other related activities. It hosts a monthly improvisation night focused on exploration of experimentation in music and sound. In the past the music arm of the organization hosted the Table of the Elements Festival and the Rogue Independent Music Festival. Live performances from various acts such as Ken Lockie, Hubcap City, Bill Taft, and Tunnels were recorded at Eyedrum and later released as live albums. Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery is the parent organization of an arts journal Eyedrum Periodically. Published quarterly and online, the magazine offers literary works (poetry, fiction, and essays), visual arts, and works in sound and multimedia in accordance with a succession of themes. Submitting artists may interpret these themes both literally and figuratively. Themes for the first year of publication included "Im/Permanence," "Monsters," In the Streets," and "Drones." The journal is administered by Founding Editor Colleen M. Payton (aka Miriam C. Jacobs), while each issue is managed individually, as are Eyedrum's gallery curations and performance events, by a revolving Lead Editor. Lead editors for the first year, along with Payton, include Hester L. Furey and Bill Taft. The magazine publishes an annual print edition, Best of Eyedrum Periodically. Eyedrum's is an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff. The board of directors is a working board, with members meeting monthly and handling virtually every aspect of running the space, including programming, promotions, accounting, fundraising, and janitorial duties.

Grant Park refers to the oldest city park in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, as well as the Victorian neighborhood surrounding it.

Oakland is an officially recognized neighborhood of Atlanta consisting of only four blocks. It is bounded by: the Downtown Connector freeway on the west, across which is Downtown Atlanta and the Georgia State Capitol building Grant Street on the east, across which is one block of the Grant Park (Atlanta) neighborhood and then the historic Oakland Cemetery (Atlanta) Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and the Grant Park (Atlanta) and Capitol Gateway neighborhoods on the south the MARTA east-west rail line on the northOakland contains the disused Corey smokestack; Mattress Factory Lofts, site of the former Southern Spring Bedding factory, with some buildings built as far back as 1864; and Crown Candy Lofts.

The Thomas W. Talbot Monument is a public monument dedicated to Thomas W. Talbot in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Located in Grant Park, the monument was dedicated in 1948 to Talbot, who had founded what is now the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers in the city in 1888.

The Confederate Obelisk is a large Confederate monument located in the Oakland Cemetery of Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The structure, a tall obelisk located in the cemetery's Confederate section, was dedicated in 1874. Due to its connection to the Confederate States of America, the monument has been vandalized repeatedly.

The Atlanta Cyclorama and Civil War Museum was a Civil War museum located in Atlanta, Georgia. Its most noted attraction was the Atlanta Cyclorama, a cylindrical panoramic painting of the Battle of Atlanta. As of December 2021, the Cyclorama is located at the Atlanta History Center, while the building is now Zoo Atlanta's Savanna Hall.

King Memorial is an elevated train station in Atlanta, Georgia, serving the Blue and Green Lines of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system. It is named for Martin Luther King Jr. whose church and burial place are nearby. It mainly serves the Sweet Auburn Historic District as well as the communities surrounding Oakland Cemetery. Bus Service Provided to: Zoo Atlanta, Grant Park, Ansley Mall, Piedmont Park, Atlanta Medical Center, Grady Memorial Hospital, South Dekalb Mall and Ponce City Market. On weekends, the Green Line terminates at this station rather than continuing to Edgewood/Candler Park station two stops to the east.

Western & Atlantic Railroad #49 "Texas" is a 4-4-0 "American" type steam locomotive built in 1856 for the Western & Atlantic Railroad by Danforth, Cooke & Co., best known as the principal pursuit engine in the Great Locomotive Chase, chasing the General after the latter was stolen by Union saboteurs in an attempt to ruin the Confederate rail system during the American Civil War. The locomotive is preserved at the Atlanta History Center.

Oakland Cemetery is one of the largest cemetery green spaces, in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S. Founded as Atlanta Cemetery in 1850 on six acres (2.4 hectares) of land southeast of the city, it was renamed in 1872 to reflect the large number of oak and magnolia trees growing in the area. By that time, the city had grown and the cemetery had enlarged correspondingly to the current 48 acres (190,000 m2). Since then, Atlanta has continued to expand so that the cemetery is now located in the center of the city. Oakland is an excellent example of a Victorian-style cemetery, and reflects the "garden cemetery" movement started and exemplified by Mount Auburn Cemetery in Massachusetts. The original 6 acres (24,000 m2) of Oakland remains one of the oldest historical plots of land in Atlanta, most of the rest of the city having been burned in 1864. Because of its age and location, the cemetery directly reflects the history and changing culture of the City of Atlanta and the significant events it has seen. Names of Atlanta streets, buildings, parks, subdivisions, and more can be found within the cemetery gates. An estimated 70,000 people are interred at Oakland, and while the last plots were sold in 1884, there are still regular burials today. These are largely conducted on family-owned plots or areas owned by Atlanta (one of the most recent being former mayor Maynard Jackson, whose plot was contributed by the city).

The Atlanta Machine Works was early Atlanta's first foundry and metal fabrication company. in 1848, Austin Leyden together with Robert Findlay and others established a foundry, amassed a fortune and eventually sold the company, called A. Leyden & Co., in 1853 to a business partner. Thereafter it became known as the Atlanta Machine Works and went on to play a central role in the Civil War, producing weaponry and other goods for the Confederacy. The foundry was located at the northwest corner of Hunter (now Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.) and King streets, now occupied by a larger industrial site only 495 metres (1,624 ft) from the Georgia State Capitol. Between August and December, 1863, the firm delivered 2323 rounds of shot and shell to the Confederate Atlanta Arsenal. At that time the plant employed seventeen men of military age. One source states that cannon were produced here and rifled at the roundhouse of the Western & Atlantic Railroad. The name of the company owning the Works changed several times; one name was Porter & Davis. By the turn of the 20th century, the Atlanta Machine Works was producing agricultural and mining equipment as well as mills.

The Antoine Graves building was a midrise public housing project intended for senior citizens in Atlanta, Georgia. Built in 1965, the building was located at 126 SE Hilliard St. After sustaining tornado damage in 2008, the main highrise and its annex were demolished the following year. The Antoine Graves building was one of the earliest and most influential designs by architect John C. Portman, Jr. It was his first atrium building and only public housing project. He adapted its atrium design in 1967 for the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, a building which brought Portman international fame. When demolition plans were announced, Portman pleaded to save the building, to no avail. The building had been damaged in the 2008 tornado and according to the Atlanta Housing Authority was "functionally obsolete" with "tiny rooms" and containing asbestos.
