Morris Plains, New Jersey

Morris Plains Station is a NJ Transit station in Morris Plains, in Morris County, New Jersey, United States, along the Morristown Line at Route 202 (Speedwell Ave/Littleton Rd) in downtown Morris Plains. It is a local station. The former Lackawanna station was built in 1915 and has a brick station house. It was designed by architect Frank J. Nies who built other stations for the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad. Unlike most of his stations which tended to resemble massive cathedrals, Morris Plains station was built as a simple one-story structure, which also contains a unique Spanish tile roof. An old train station just to the north now serves as The Morris Plains Model Railroad Club. The station was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 22, 1984, along with over 100 other stations within the state as part of the Operating Passenger Railroad Stations Thematic Resource. Now trains passing through Morris Plains go to NY Penn Station, Hackettstown Station, Dover Station and Hoboken Terminal. The train station is served by the M&E (Morris and Essex Line) Trains

The Morris Plains Schools is a comprehensive community public school district that educates students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Morris Plains, in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising two schools, had an enrollment of 578 students and 61.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.5:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Students in public school for ninth through twelfth grades attend Morristown High School, as part of a sending/receiving relationship with the Morris School District, which also serves the communities of Morristown and Morris Township (for grades K-12). As of the 2018–19 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 1,860 students and 133.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.0:1.

Craftsman Farms is a historic house located in Parsippany-Troy Hills, Morris County, New Jersey, United States. It was founded by noted early 20th century designer Gustav Stickley as a farm and school for the Arts and Crafts movement. It remained in use until 1915 when it was sold to a family and became a private house. When threatened by development in 1989, the home was purchased by the Township of Parsippany-Troy Hills through eminent domain. The property is operated as a museum, also known as the Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms, and is operated by the Craftsman Farms Foundation.

Watnong Mountain is a mountain in Morris County, New Jersey. The major peak rises to 965 feet (294 m). It is located in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township and overlooks Morris Plains to the east. It is part of the New York–New Jersey Highlands of the Reading Prong.

The William G. Mennen Sports Arena, commonly referred to as Mennen Arena, is a multi-purpose arena in Morris Township, New Jersey primarily used for ice hockey and other skating activities. The building houses three regulation-sized ice rinks. The main rink has seating for 2,500 spectators.

Speedwell Ironworks was an ironworks in Speedwell Village, on Speedwell Avenue (part of U.S. Route 202), just north of downtown Morristown, in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. At this site Alfred Vail and Samuel Morse first demonstrated their electric telegraph. Speedwell Ironworks also provided most of the machinery for the SS Savannah, the first steamship to cross the Atlantic Ocean. The site is still open to the public, and has seven buildings on display. The site, now named Historical Speedwell, is a historic site of the Morris County Park Commission. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1974.

The Patriots' Path Council is a not-for-profit organization that establishes ideals in youth to help them make ethical choices by instilling values of good character, citizenship, personal fitness, and guidance. It serves members in the counties of Morris, Sussex, Somerset, Union, Hunterdon, and parts of Middlesex in New Jersey. It was established in 1999 with the merger of the Morris-Sussex Area Council (1936–1999) and the Watchung Area Council (1926–1999). On February 6, 2014, Patriots Path Council absorbed several Scouting units from the dissolved Central New Jersey Council (1999-2014).

The Lee Meadows Swamp is a swamp that originally covered 500-acre (2.0 km2) with low woodlands surrounding it. It is located in the southeastern section of Parsippany-Troy Hills Township and the western section of Hanover Township, in Morris County, New Jersey, United States. Due to the construction of office buildings and roads in the 1980s, the swamp has been reduced in size.

Parsippany Christian School consists of pre-kindergarten though twelfth grades. Social activities, athletics, and discipline procedures are also governed by biblical principles. The school is a member of American Association of Christian Schools (AACS) and the Garden State Association of Christian Schools. The school closed in 2019. The school's student body was 35.8% (39) White, 33.0% (36) Black, 19.3% (21) Hispanic, 8.3% (9) Asian and 3.7% (4) two or more races.

WMTR (1250 AM) is an American radio station owned by Beasley Broadcast Group. It is licensed to Morristown, New Jersey and serves Morris County and surrounding areas. The station features "The Morning Team" featuring Alan David Stein, Ginny Otte for middays, and Rich DeSisto for afternoon drive. From July through December 2008, WMTR employed a satellite oldies format, playing music from mostly 1964 to 1979. The Classic Oldies format was reinstated after Christmas. WMTR's core artists include Beatles, Elvis Presley, Four Seasons, Beach Boys, Martha And The Vandellas, Everly Brothers, Three Dog Night, Ricky Nelson, Rolling Stones, Spinners, Lesley Gore, Fats Domino, Supremes, Four Tops, Bee Gees, Association, Buddy Holly, Young Rascals, and many more.
