Santa Teresa County Park

KSJS (90.5 MHz) is a college radio station that broadcasts 24 hours a day from the campus of San Jose State University in San Jose, California, United States. The brainchild of Professor Clarence Flick, it went on the air on February 11, 1963, with only 85 watts of power. The studio is located in Hugh Gillis Hall, easily accessible to RTVF majors. Originally, its transmitting antenna was installed atop the Walquist Library Building on campus, but broadcasting range was adversely affected due to the nearby Bank of America Building's superior height. Today, however, its transmitter atop Coyote Peak broadcasts 1,500 watts, allowing the station to be heard by the entire Santa Clara Valley and much of the San Francisco Peninsula. Currently, the station features five musical formats: urban, electronic, alternative rock, rock en Español, and jazz. KSJS carried regular news programs produced by San Jose State's Radio-Television News Center, which had been started by Professor Gordon Greb in 1957. The programs in the 1960s included a world and national news program, broadcast shortly after the daily sign-on, and "Spectrum," a college news program with emphasis on San Jose State news. From the 1970s through the early 1980s, KSJS was heavily formatted, with students learning to "talk up" records, play public service announcements at appropriate times and even "backtime" songs to a top-of-the-hour newscast. In recent years, the station has taken on more of a free-form approach. KSJS has been named "Station of the Year" twice by the National Association of College Broadcasters.Notable alumni include longtime oldies DJ Dennis Terry, Kim Vestal, a longtime San Jose radio star, later on KRTY; Craig Bowers, production director at KGO in San Francisco; Steve Scott, drivetime news anchor at WCBS-AM in New York City; Mark Nieto news and traffic anchor at KMVQ-FM in San Francisco; Lynn Gold, weekend news anchor at KLIV; and Tony Kovaleski, an investigative TV reporter at KMGH-TV in Denver. KSJS also carries all San Jose State Spartans home football games and all men's basketball games, as well as select women's basketball and baseball games. They also now carry Women's volleyball games as well as SJSU Hockey.

KBAY (94.5 MHz, "Bay Country 94.5") is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Gilroy, California, serving San Jose and the San Francisco Bay Area, broadcasting a Country Music radio format. KBAY is owned by Alpha Media, along with sister station 106.5 KEZR. The radio studios and offices are located off U.S. Route 101 and Hellyer Ave in South San Jose. KBAY has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 44,000 watts. The transmitter is on a hill in Santa Teresa County Park, near Coyote Peak, south of San Jose.The station switched to the country format on April 5, 2022 after five years as a classic hits station and various other formats before that since going on the air in 1970.

The Santa Teresa Hills are a range of mountains in Santa Clara County, California, located primarily in the city of San Jose. They separate the San Jose neighborhoods of Almaden Valley to the west and Santa Teresa to the east.

Saint Julie Billiart Parish is a Roman Catholic parish of the Diocese of San Jose in California, located in the Santa Teresa neighborhood of San Jose, California. The parish is named for Saint Julie Billiart, the foundress of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.

Calero, also known as Calero Lake and occasionally as South Almaden Valley, is a rural neighborhood in the Almaden Valley district of San Jose, California. Located in South San Jose, Calero is notably home to Calero County Park, which surrounds Calero Lake.

Santa Teresa is a light rail station operated by Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). This station is the southern terminus of the Blue Line of the VTA Light Rail system. It was built in the late 1980s as part of the original Guadalupe Line, the first segment of light rail that stretched to Tasman in northern San Jose. Santa Teresa station is located just south of State Route 85, near Santa Teresa Boulevard in the Santa Teresa neighborhood in southern San Jose, California. It is a major local transit center, and as such is the terminus of several bus routes. It is served by a shuttle to IBM's campus in South San Jose.

Calero Reservoir, also called Calero Lake, is a reservoir in San Jose, California, located in the Calero neighborhood of Almaden Valley in South San Jose. It is the site of Calero County Park, which also includes a large area covering the lake and hundreds of acres of hills around it.

Laguna Seca is a seasonal lake located in south Santa Clara Valley in the Coyote Valley, an area critical to wildlife as the narrowest corridor connecting Mt. Hamilton and the Diablo Range on the east to the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains to the west. It is the largest freshwater wetland in Santa Clara County, California and lies between Tulare Hill and the Santa Teresa Hills just west of Santa Teresa Boulevard and north of Bailey Avenue. Laguna Seca is fed by Fisher Creek. A man-made channel extends Fisher Creek to Coyote Creek.

Rancho San Vicente was a 4,438-acre (17.96 km2) Mexican land grant in present day Santa Clara County, California given in 1842 by Governor Juan Alvarado to José de los Reyes Berreyesa. The grant was located west of the Santa Teresa Hills at the south end of Almaden Valley. The grant was bounded on the north by Rancho Los Capitancillos.

Tulare Hill is a prominent hill in the Santa Teresa Hills of western Santa Clara County, California. It lies along the southernmost edge of San Jose, California, adjacent to the Metcalf Energy Center. The hill and surrounding 330 acres (130 ha) of serpentine grasslands are home to the endangered Bay checkerspot butterfly and Dudleya setchellii wildflower. A portion of the hill makes up the Tulare Hill Ecological Preserve.

Cottle is a light rail station operated by Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA). The station is served by the Blue Line of the VTA Light Rail system. It was part of the original Guadalupe Line, the first segment of light rail from Santa Teresa to Tasman.
