The Elk Township School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade from Elk Township, in Gloucester County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.As of the 2021–22 school year, the district, comprised of one school, had an enrollment of 329 students and 31.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.4:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "B", the second lowest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I, and J.For seventh through twelfth grades, public school students attend the Delsea Regional School District, which serves students from both Elk Township and Franklin Township. Students from Newfield attend the district as part of a sending/receiving relationship begun in September 2010 after Newfield ended its prior relationship with the Buena Regional School District. Schools in the district (with 2019–20 enrollment data from the National Center for Education Statistics) are Delsea Regional Middle School with 530 students in grades 7 and 8, and Delsea Regional High School with 1,062 students in grades 9–12.

Monroeville Vineyard & Winery is a winery in the Monroeville section of Upper Pittsgrove Township in Salem County, New Jersey. The vineyard was first planted in 2010, and opened to the public in 2012. Monroeville has 4 acres of grapes under cultivation, and produces 1,800 cases of wine per year from New Jersey and Chilean grapes. The winery is named for the community where it is located.

Monroeville was named after Rev. Samuel Y. Monroe, and had also been called Monroe Station for the train depot located in the area. It had contained a cigar factory, a blacksmith shop and a creamery. During the 1880s and 1890s, it was one of several South Jersey destinations settled by Russian Jewish immigrants who were offered transportation by ship from Europe, and were provided with land and a cow in farming colonies.As of the 2010 United States Census, the population for ZIP Code Tabulation Area 08343 was 5,030. As of the 2000 census, the population was 4,596.

Ferrell is an unincorporated community located within Elk Township, in Gloucester County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It was named after Thomas M. Ferrell of Glassboro, a well-known politician in the area. The community of Ferrell was originally known as Fairview, but was changed to its current name as soon as the post office was established, due to an already existing Fairview.
