Richwood is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located in Gloucester County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, that is split between Harrison Township (with 3,400 of the CDP's residents) and Mantua Township (with 59 of the total). As of the 2020 United States census, the CDP’s population was 3,577, an increase of 118 (+3.4%) from the 3,459 enumerated at the 2010 U.S. census. The community was once known as Mount Pleasant.

William Heritage Winery (formerly known as Heritage Vineyards) is a winery in the Mullica Hill section of Harrison Township in Gloucester County, New Jersey. A family produce farm since 1853, the vineyard was first planted in 1998, and opened to the public in 2002. Heritage is one of the larger winegrowers in New Jersey, having 40 acres of grapes under cultivation, and producing 13,000 cases of wine per year. The winery is named after the family that owns it.

Ferrell is an unincorporated community located within Elk Township, in Gloucester County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It was named after Thomas M. Ferrell of Glassboro, a well-known politician in the area. The community of Ferrell was originally known as Fairview, but was changed to its current name as soon as the post office was established, due to an already existing Fairview.

The Richwood Methodist Church is a historic church located on Elmer Road in the Richwood section of Harrison Township in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States. It was built c. 1860 and added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 19, 1979, for its significance in architecture. The listing includes the adjacent church cemetery.

The Mount Pleasant School, now known as the Richwood Academy Cultural Center, is a historic school building located at 836 Lambs Road in the Richwood section of Harrison Township in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States. Built in 1870, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 14, 2023, for its significance in architecture and education.

Harrison Township is a township in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 12,417, reflecting an increase of 3,629 (+41.3%) from the 8,788 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 4,073 (+86.4%) from the 4,715 counted in the 1990 Census.Harrison Township was originally formed as Spicer Township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 13, 1844, from portions of Greenwich Township and Woolwich Township. That name lasted for less than a year, with Harrison Township adopted as of April 1, 1845. The township was named for President William Henry Harrison.Since the institution of Prohibition, Harrison had been a dry township, where alcohol could not be sold. The township's voters passed a referendum in 2009 permitting alcohol by consumption (in a restaurant). A second referendum was passed by the voters in 2015 allowing package goods sales (liquor stores). The first liquor store opened in November 2018 and the first bar opened in July 2019.

The South Jersey Times is a newspaper serving the South Jersey area of New Jersey. It began publication on November 4, 2012, following a merger of three affiliated papers, Gloucester County Times, The News of Cumberland County and Today's Sunbeam of Salem, each of which were founded during the 1800s, and all of which ceased publication after their November 3, 2012 edition. The paper initially focused coverage on Camden, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties before expanding to cover all of South Jersey. The paper, which brought over the staff of its predecessors and launched with a subscriber base of 30,000, is an affiliate of NJ.com.As of July 2015, the publisher was Joseph P. Owens. Initially, the paper's main office took over the Gloucester County Times offices in Woodbury, with a satellite office in the former Today's Sunbeam office in Salem, until all operations were consolidated in a new building in Mullica Hill in 2015.

Elk Township is a township in Gloucester County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 4,424, an increase of 208 (+4.9%) from the 2010 census count of 4,216, which in turn reflected an increase of 702 (+20.0%) from the 3,514 counted in the 2000 census.Elk Township was formed as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 17, 1891, from portions of Clayton Township, Glassboro Township, and South Harrison Township. The township was named for elk hunted in the area.Until 2016, Elk Township had been a dry township where alcohol could not be sold. That year, the township sold a package goods license for $300,000, which allows the sale of alcohol for off-premise consumption.

Gloucester County Christian School was founded in 1964 and organized by a group of parents. GCCS is owned and operated by Hardingville Bible Church. The school is a member of the American Association of Christian Schools and the Garden State Association of Christian Schools.As of the 2017–18 school year, the school had an enrollment of 317 students and 20.4 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.8:1. Its county seat is Woodbury. The county is part of the South Jersey region of the state. The Elk Township School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade from Elk Township, in Gloucester County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.As of the 2021–22 school year, the district, comprised of one school, had an enrollment of 329 students and 31.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.4:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "B", the second lowest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I, and J.For seventh through twelfth grades, public school students attend the Delsea Regional School District, which serves students from both Elk Township and Franklin Township. Students from Newfield attend the district as part of a sending/receiving relationship begun in September 2010 after Newfield ended its prior relationship with the Buena Regional School District. Schools in the district (with 2019–20 enrollment data from the National Center for Education Statistics) are Delsea Regional Middle School with 530 students in grades 7 and 8, and Delsea Regional High School with 1,062 students in grades 9–12.
