St. Joseph Church is the largest Roman Catholic parish church still in use in Leiden in the diocese of Rotterdam. It is also called the Herensingelkerk, because it is situated at the street called Herensingel. The church is a national heritage site and one of the tallest buildings in the centre of Leiden.

Museum Het Leids Wevershuis consists of one of the last remaining "weavers' homes" (1560) in Leiden, Netherlands. The exterior, the large antique loom (1830) and the interior, are testimony of the once flourishing textile industry (and trade) around Leiden, in particular during the 16th and 17th century, when many home weavers supplied the draper's guild with high quality woolen cloth.

Vrijplaats Koppenhinksteeg (Freespace on Koppenhinksteeg street) was a complex of buildings first squatted in 1968 in Leiden, the Netherlands. It took its name from the alley on which it was located and was run since the 1990s by the Vrijplaats Koppenhinksteeg Foundation. Various groups including Eurodusnie used the different spaces as a bar, café, a freeshop, a foundation to support undocumented migrants, an information centre, a library and a sports club. In 2010, the entire complex was evicted. From 2012 onwards a new space called the Vrijplaats Leiden (Freespace Leiden) was set up elsewhere.

Bonaventura College is a Catholic secondary school in Leiden, Netherlands. The school offers education in gymnasium, atheneum, HAVO, and VMBO. It has three branches in Leiden. Together with Visser 't Hooft Lyceum, it is part of the Leiden Confessional Education Foundation. It was preceded by the Jesuit St. Willibrord College of 1831 which moved to The Hague in 1927, leading to the founding in Leiden of St. Bonaventure by the Franciscans.

Bonaventura College Burggravenlaan is one of four secondary schools that make up the Bonaventura College in Leiden, Netherlands. The name "Burggravenlaan" is derived from the street in which the school is based. The school offers education at vmbo-tl, havo and vwo (both atheneum and gymnasium) level. The school is officially noted as Roman Catholic. Bonaventuracollege Burggravenlaan currently consists of two buildings; the original and a new building built on the schoolyard in 2001. The older and the newer part are linked together by a corridor supported by pillars. The school also hosts an annual Model United Nations-conference named BonaMUN. Di Fidanza is the schoolpaper completely made by students, for the students. Set up by prior editor-in-chiefs Lilian Dirks and Carina de Bruin in 2009. On 28 September 2009, the school was evacuated because of a threat for an explosion. The students were let back into the school that same day.

The Holy Spirit Orphanage (Dutch: Heilige Geest- of Arme Wees- en Kinderhuis) was an orphanage in the city of Leiden in the Netherlands. It is a Rijksmonument located on Hooglandse Kerkgracht 17B.

The Hooglandse Kerk is a Gothic church in Leiden. Its earliest parts date back to the last quarter of the fourteenth century. Most of the current structure dates from the fifteenth century. The brick church was dedicated to St. Pancras and today serves parishioners of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands.

The Leiden American Pilgrim Museum is a small museum in the Dutch city of Leiden dedicated to the Pilgrim Fathers (or simply Pilgrims). These Separatists or English Dissenters were religious refugees who had fled England to Amsterdam in 1608 and moved to Leiden the next year. They lived and worked in that city for about 12 to 20 years. In 1620, their emigration began. They left Leiden by canal, going to Delfshaven where they embarked on the Speedwell, which took them to Southampton. But the Speedwell proved leaky and had to be sold, so they transferred to the Mayflower. The Mayflower undertook the famous voyage to New England in 1620 alone. In the 19th century the colonists' first harvest festival after their arrival at Plymouth Colony was identified as the origin of the annual Thanksgiving celebration in the United States.

Groenoordhallen (English: Groenoord Halls) was a building located in Leiden, Netherlands. It was used for concerts and conventions, but one of its main sources of revenue was the cattle market. The closure of that market in 2005 led to its demise. In 2010, the building was demolished; homes and offices are to be built in its place, with bricks and other elements retained from the original structure. Groenoordhallen has hosted artists such as Queen, Def Leppard, Kiss, The Police and U2.

The Heilige Lodewijkkerk, also called the St. Louis Church, is a Roman Catholic church at the Steenschuur in Leiden.

The Leiden Weigh House (De Waag in Dutch) is a Rijksmonument located on Aalmarkt street (nr. 21). It was designed by Pieter Post around 1657 and opened in 1659. For centuries, merchants came here to weigh and trade a variety of goods. In addition to being a weigh house, the Leiden Weigh House has hosted a variety of engagements and stately celebrations over the centuries. Notably, Govert Bidloo converted an attic room into an autopsy room to study the human body.The weigh house was in use as an actual weigh house until 1972, when the last unit of cheese was sold. Nowadays, the building serves as a cultural monument, houses a bar and restaurant.

The Vrouwekerk ("Lady's Church") or Vrouwenkerk ("Ladies' Church"), originally known as the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk ("Church of Our Lady"), was a 14th-Century church in the Dutch city of Leiden. In the early 17th Century, the church was attended by the Pilgrims (who left Leiden to settle in Plymouth Colony) as well as by the first colonists to settle on Manhattan.The ruined remains of this Gothic church are located on the Vrouwenkerkhof square opposite Museum Boerhaave, just north of the busy shopping street Haarlemmerstraat. The alley Vrouwenkerksteeg, which runs from the Haarlemmerstraat to the Vrouwenkerkhof, is also named after the Vrouwekerk church. The church remains have rijksmonument (national monument) status. In 2008-2009 the church underwent restoration. Carolus Clusius and Joseph Justus Scaliger were buried in the Vrouwekerk.
