Spanish Springs Airport (FAA LID: N86) is a public use airport located 7 nautical miles (8.1 mi; 13 km) north of the central business district of Reno, in Washoe County, Nevada, United States. It is owned by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and operated by the Spanish Springs Pilots Association, Inc. under BLM Public Airport Lease N-59805.

KKOH (780 kHz, "News Talk 780 KOH") is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Reno, Nevada. KKOH airs a talk radio format and is owned and operated by Cumulus Media. Studios and offices are on East Plumb Lane. It transmits from a three-tower array off Chickadee Drive.KKOH broadcasts at 50,000 watts, the maximum power permitted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for AM stations. Because 780 AM is a clear channel frequency, reserved for Class A WBBM in Chicago, KKOH must use a directional signal after sunset to avoid interfering with WBBM. A single tower is used during the day, allowing it to be heard some distance into California. It provides a strong grade B signal to Sacramento and can be heard as far as the Bay Area under the right conditions. At night, power is fed to all three towers in a directional pattern to protect WBBM. Even with this restriction, it can heard in much of the Western United States with a good radio.

Sparks is a city in Washoe County, Nevada, United States. It was founded in 1904, incorporated on March 15, 1905, and is located just east of Reno. The 2020 U.S. Census counted 108,445 residents in the city. It is the fifth most populous city in Nevada. It is named after John Sparks, Nevada Governor (1903–1908), and a member of the Silver Party. Sparks is located within the Reno–Sparks metropolitan area.

Procter R. Hug High School is a fully accredited public high school in Reno, Nevada, and belongs to the Washoe County School District. Hug High was built on a hillside in east Reno in 1968 to serve students from rapidly growing areas. Like many other local schools, Hug High was named for a member of the local school board. The high school was named for Procter Hug Sr., a college athlete, teacher, athletic coach and Washoe County School Superintendent who went on after retirement to serve as a Nevada State Senator. Hug High School relocated from 2880 Sutro Street to 3530 Sullivan Lane at the beginning of the 22-23 academic year.

The transmitter is located off McGuffrey Road on Red Hill in North Reno. Programming is also heard on a 99 watt FM translator, K232EA at 94.3 MHz in Carson City, Nevada.
