St. Hedwig's Church (Polish: Kościół Świętej Jadwigi) is a historic parish church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago located in Chicago, Illinois. Constructed in the grand Polish Cathedral style, it is one of the many monumental Polish churches visible from the Kennedy Expressway. The church is located at 2226 North Hoyne Avenue.

Marie's Rip Tide lounge was a late-night Bucktown lounge and dive-bar.It had garnered national attention numerous times, most recently by its appearance on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, where he referred to it as his "favorite Chicago bar". Marie's was open until 4 am on weekends and was known for its pickled eggs and Old Style sold by the six-pack. Marie's closed in August 2013. Marie's was filmed in an episode of the 1980s drama Crime Story, and was the subject of songs including Robbie Fulks' "Marie's Riptide" and Michael McDermott's "20 Miles South of Nowhere".

Our Lady of the Underpass was a salt stain and purported appearance of the Virgin Mary under the Kennedy Expressway along Fullerton Avenue in Chicago that was noticed in 2005. The site became a pilgrimage site for local Catholics. Later it became a target for various acts of vandalism. The Illinois Department of Transportation judged that the stain was probably formed by salt run-off.

Irazu Costa Rican Restaurant is a Latin American restaurant in Chicago, Illinois that opened in 1990. It is cash only and BYOB. Irazu is located on the storied Milwaukee Avenue (Chicago) in the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhood on Chicago's north side. The name Irazu refers to a volcano in Costa Rica.

Saint Mary of the Angels (Polish: Kościół Matki Boskiej Anielskiej) is a historic church of Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. Located at 1850 North Hermitage Avenue in Chicago's Bucktown neighborhood, it is an example of the Polish Cathedral style of churches. Along with St. Stanislaus Kostka, St. Hyacinth Basilica, St. Hedwig, St. Wenceslaus, and Holy Trinity it is one of the monumental Polish churches visible from the Kennedy Expressway. From 1899 until 1990, the parish was administered by priests of the Congregation of the Resurrection. Since January 1991, it has been administered by the Priestly Society of the Holy Cross. The church regularly makes appearances in The Dresden Files series of books by Jim Butcher.

The Northwest Tower, popularly known as the Coyote Building, is a 12-story art deco building at the corner of North Avenue and Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago. It was designed by Perkins, Chatten & Hammond and built between 1928 and 1929.

1958 West North Avenue is a building in the Wicker Park neighborhood of West Town, Chicago, located at its "Six Corners" of the intersections of Damen Avenue, North Avenue, and Milwaukee Avenue. Built in the 1870s, it had a corner turret, cornice, and mansard roof prior to the 1960s. The ground floor housed a bar continuously from 1979 until 2017; since 2005, that bar had been Tavern, a well-known nightlife haunt. It had also housed a dance club in its upper floors since the 1990s. The building is owned by Tefik Menetti of the nightclub-owning Menetti family; he purchased it from his brother Sam in February 2017.After the closure of Tavern, the ground floor remained empty until 2022, when Chase Bank made plans to consolidate two of its branches in Wicker Park to a location in the building. The branch of the bank is expected to move in during August 2023; in the previous year, the building and its neighbor experienced much restoration, including a reconstruction of the turret and cornice; however, cell towers placed on the roof prevented restoration of the mansard roofs.

The Real World: Chicago is the eleventh season of MTV's reality television series The Real World, which focuses on a group of diverse strangers living together for several months in a different city each season, as cameras follow their lives and interpersonal relationships. It is the first season of The Real World to be filmed in the East North Central States region of the United States, specifically in Illinois. The season featured seven people who lived in a converted bookstore/coffeehouse in the Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood, which production started from June 28 until November 3, 2001. This was also the first season in which production would start months (sometimes weeks) after wrapping the previous season allowing filming and broadcasting almost immediately unlike the usual annual season. The season premiered on January 15, 2002 and consisted of 24 episodes. This was the first of two seasons to be filmed in Chicago. Twelve years later, the show returned to the city in its thirtieth season. The season depicted cast members dealing with learning of the September 11th attacks, although criticism was leveled at the series because the cast was actually at Wrigley Field for a photo shoot when they first learned of the event. However, contrary to rumors, the reactions seen were not staged. Producers brought a television in to the loft so the cast could see the attack footage. Bunim-Murray Productions experienced a number of problems with the production of this season, including a nearby shooting, and numerous protests, vandalism, and arrests by locals critical of MTV and its parent company, Viacom, and opposed to the production's perceived contribution to the neighborhood's gentrification.

The Flat Iron Building is located in the Wicker Park district of West Town, Chicago, Illinois. The building is located at the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue, North Avenue, and Damen Avenue. Since the 1980s, it has served as an artists colony, and features visual artists and musicians of all disciplines. The building was the historic centerpiece of the annual Around the Coyote arts festival held in the neighborhood each summer. It is located across the street from the Northwest Tower.

Neo was a nightclub located at 2350 N. Clark St. in the Chicago neighborhood of Lincoln Park. Established on July 25, 1979 Neo was the oldest or one of the oldest running nightclubs in Chicago and was a hangout and venue for a variety of musicians and artists, including David Bowie, Iggy Pop, David Byrne, the Clash, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and U2. The nightclub has been noted for being gay-friendly as well as part of goth subculture. Sources differ as to whether or not the character Neo from the Matrix franchise drew inspiration from the nightclub and its patrons.

Quimby's Bookstore is an independent bookstore located at 1854 W. North Ave in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. In addition to the main location, Quimby's NYC opened in 2017 at 536 Metropolitan Ave in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. Quimby's specializes in selling independently published and small press books, zines, comics, and ephemera, describing its collection as favoring "the unusual, the aberrant, the saucy and the lowbrow". The Chicago Tribune has described Quimby's as "a treasure" and "an unofficial clubhouse for zine lovers", and Inc. magazine has featured it as "Chicago's weirdest bookstore".
