Miami Southridge Senior High School is a secondary school located in South Miami Heights, Florida (Miami postal address). Its current principal is Humberto J. Miret. The school serves ninth through twelfth grade students in a mostly unincorporated suburban and rural area in the southern stretches of Miami-Dade County between South Miami and Homestead.

As a magnet school, Robert Morgan is a juxtaposition of a vocational training and classical learning environment that is unique to other schools in its region. The Ferdinand Magellan was designated a National Historic Landmark by the United States Department of the Interior, National Park Service on February 4, 1985.

Peters, Florida was a community in southern Dade County during the first half of the 20th century. It was located at the intersection of Quail Roost Road and the Florida East Coast Railway, and later became part of Perrine.

It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), a division of the United States Department of Justice. The institution also has an adjacent satellite prison camp that houses minimum-security male offenders.FCI Miami is located in southwest unincorporated Miami-Dade County, Florida, about 30 miles (48 km) from Downtown Miami. A significant portion of the inmates held at FCI Miami have been convicted in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
