Glendale Historic District (Glendale, Ohio)

Glendale is a village in Hamilton County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,298 at the 2020 census. It is a northern suburb of Cincinnati, and is the site of the Glendale Historic District.

Glendale Police Station, also known as Council House and Jail, is a historic building in Glendale, Ohio. It was designed by architect H. Neill Wilson. It was listed in the National Register on March 27, 1975.

The Burchenal Mound is a Native American mound in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. Located in the village of Woodlawn, the mound occupies an unusual position atop an esker, high above most of the surrounding terrain. Its dimensions are approximately 8 feet (2.4 m) in height and 75 feet (23 m) in diameter. Overlooking the West Fork of Mill Creek, it was once part of a farm owned by the Burchenal family.A test excavation of the Burchenal Mound was conducted in 1850. However, the results were never published; consequently, the cultural affiliation of its builders is unknown. Based on excavations of similar mounds, it is believed to be the work of the Adena or Hopewell peoples, who typically interred their dead and various grave goods within their mounds. While no further excavations have been conducted since 1850, soil tests have been performed on the surface; these have demonstrated that the mound is built primarily of sand. Its shape is almost perfectly circular.In 1975, the Burchenal Mound was listed on the National Register of Historic Places because of its archaeological potential.

Tri-County Mall was a shopping mall located on State Route 747 (Princeton Pike) just south of Interstate 275 in the city of Springdale, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Originally known as Tri-County Shopping Center, it opened in 1960 and has been expanded several times in its history. The original shopping center was an open-air property featuring H. & S. Pogue Company (Pogue's) and John Shillito Company (Shillito's) as the anchor stores. An enclosed wing anchored by Sears was added in 1969, followed by the enclosure of the rest of the mall. Shillito's was later known as Shillito-Rike's, Lazarus, Lazarus-Macy's, and then just Macy's; Pogue's was consolidated with L. S. Ayres and then converted to JCPenney. A mall expansion begun in 1990 and finished in 1992 added a second level of stores and McAlpin's (sold to Dillard's in 1998) as a fourth anchor store. The mall underwent a slow decline in the 21st century, owing mainly to the center's age and increased competition and lost all of its anchors. Both JCPenney and Dillard's relocated to newer shopping centers in the 2010s, while Sears closed in 2018 and Macy's closed in 2021. The mall itself closed on May 15, 2022. It is owned by MarketSpace Capital and Park Harbor Capital.

The Art Institute of Cincinnati, also known as AIC College of Design, was a private for-profit art school in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools & Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). It was founded as the ACA or the Academy of Creative Arts, and it offered an associate degree of Graphic Design and a three-year bachelor's degree of Graphic Design. The institution closed in 2019.

Princeton High School is a public, co-educational high school in Sharonville, Ohio, United States. The school is a part of the Princeton City School District. Princeton High School offers grades nine through twelve, educating students from the Cincinnati metropolitan area communities of Evendale, Glendale, Lincoln Heights, Springdale, Sharonville, Woodlawn, Heritage Hill and portions of Blue Ash, Deerfield Township, West Chester Township, and Springfield Township since its establishment in 1955. Princeton High School is near the intersection of interstates 75 and 275 at 100 Viking Way.

The Mathew Mound (designated 33-HA-122) is a Native American mound in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. Located off Oak Road near the village of Evendale, the mound is believed to have been built by members of the Adena or Hopewell peoples during the Woodland period.: 629 For many years, local legend held that the mound was the burial site of a historic Native American known as "Opekasit"; the legend lent itself to the milk-processing operation run by the mound's owners, which was known for many years as the Opekasit Dairy. The mound is 4.5 feet (1.4 m) high with a diameter of slightly more than 60 feet (18 m). Having never been excavated, it is a prime example of a burial mound from the Woodland period. Based on the excavation of similar mounds, it is expected that the Mathew Mound contains evidence of funerary practices such as grave goods and the remains of buried bodies.: 630  It is one of two archaeological sites in the vicinity: the other, a small campsite designated 33-HA-125, is a small fraction of a mile west of the mound, but excavation yielded nothing significant. Because the mound is a potentially valuable archaeological site, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
