Larco Museum

La Cruz del Viajero (The Cross of the Traveller) is a monumental cross located in what now Pueblo Libre, a district of the city of Lima, Peru. It was erected in 1579 by Catholic missionaries. Travellers would stop at the cross to ask for protection on the road to the port of Callao, a route which was beset by bandits. In 1759 the cross was moved 100 metres from its original location to a plaza that bears its name on the corner of Torre Tagle and Julio C. Tello streets. Both José de San Martín and Simón Bolívar are said to have knelt before the cross.The cross was declared a Patrimonio Cultural de la Nación (Cultural Patrimony of the Nation) in 1998.

Breña District (Spanish: Distrito de Breña) is the smallest district of the Lima Province in Peru. It is part of Lima city metropolitan area.

Pueblo Libre (originally called La Magdalena or Old Magdalena to differentiate it from Magdalena del Mar District) is a district of the Lima Province in Peru. Its name, which means Free Town or Free People, was granted by José de San Martín on April 10, 1822, as a recognition of the patriotism shown by its inhabitants during the Peruvian War of Independence. The district was created by law 9162 on November 5, 1940. Pueblo Libre is a middle-class residential community and has the most parks in Lima, although it has several branches of banks, local private universities and major corporations.

Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (Spanish: Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, PUCP) is a private university in Lima, Peru. It was founded in 1917 with the support and approval of the Catholic Church, being the oldest private institution of higher learning in the country. The person who dealt the necessary formalities was Catholic priest Jorge Dintilhac. The Peruvian historian and politician José de la Riva-Agüero y Osma would become his main benefactor by leaving him most of his assets as an inheritance, as it was then a more religious educational institution and linked to the Catholic Church; in contrast to his alma mater and original destination of his inheritance, the National University of San Marcos, where Riva-Agüero considered that liberal ideas and atheism predominated here. In July 2012, after an apostolic visitation, begun earlier, in 2011, by Peter Erdo, Archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest, Hungary, the Holy See withdrew from the university the right under canon law to use the titles Catholic and Pontifical in its name. Titles like "Catholic" and "Pontifical" are granted by the Vatican only after meeting legal requirements. In 2014 Pope Francis formed a Commission of Cardinals to find a 'final, consensual solution between the Vatican and the university, comprising Cardinal Erdo, Gérald Lacroix, archbishop of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, and Ricardo Ezzati Andrello, archbishop of Santiago de Chile, Chile. In 2016, the Vatican restored the lost titles and determined that the archbishop of Lima would not assume the position of Chancellor of the university. Archbishop of Lima, Juan Luis Cipriani, was the main advocate of the Vatican interests. As of December 2018 those authorities faced charges, and Rector Marcial Rubio had to resign after a scandal of fraud, usury, and keeping two sets of accounts.

The Church of Saint Mary Magdalene (Spanish: Iglesia de Santa María Magdalena) is a Catholic temple that belongs to the ecclesiastical jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Lima, located in the district of Pueblo Libre, Lima, Peru. It was declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation in 1942 by resolution LN° 9599.It features a traditional Isabellan-style hall plan and a main altar with baroque decoration, as well as a series of eight side altars, all covered in gold leaf. Since 1944, the church and its premises have been run by the Order of Augustinian Recollects.

The Museo Nacional de Arqueología Antropología e Historia del Perú (English: National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology, and History of Peru) is the largest and oldest museum in Peru, located on Plaza Bolívar in the Pueblo Libre district of Lima. The museum houses more than 100,000 artifacts spanning the entire history of human occupation in what is now Peru. Highlights include the Raimondi Stele and the Tello Obelisk from Chavín de Huantar, and an impressive scale model of the Incan citadel, Machu Picchu.

The Palacio de la Magdalena (Spanish for Magdalena Palace) is a viceregal house located in the district of Pueblo Libre in Lima. It is located near the Plaza de los Libertadores, and is also known as the Quinta de los Libertadores. The building was declared a national monument in 1972.

The Flag Square (Spanish: Plaza de la Bandera) is a public square in Lima, Peru. It is located next to the Mateo Salado Huaca at the intersection of Breña, Lima and Pueblo Libre districts.

Coliseo Polideportivo is an indoor arena located in Lima, Peru, that is under construction. It was scheduled to be completed in July 2011, and have a seating capacity of 11,320 spectators. It will host some matches for the 2011 FIVB Women's Junior World Championship. but this work was never carried out, in its place it was built the National Sports Village: VIDENA in 2019.

The Seminario de Lima or Seminary of Lima Santo Toribio de Mogrovejo (founded 7 December 1590) is the major seminary for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lima and provides training for those studying for the priesthood. Headquartered in Lima, Peru, it can be considered one of the oldest seminaries on the American continent; it was founded on December 7, 1590, by Archbishop Toribio de Mogrovejo. The seminary receives young people who want to be priests. Priests graduating from the seminary serve the Roman Catholic Church under the jurisdiction of the Archbishop.

The Diez de Octubre School (Chinese: 中華三民聯校; pinyin: zhōnghuá sānmín lián xiào; lit. 'Chung Wa-San Min United Colleges'; CDO), is a Peruvian private school headquartered in Lima—in the districts of Breña and San Miguel— and Chiclayo. It was founded in 1924 by a group of women from the Catholic Ladies' Association of the Chinese Colony. The college offers early, primary and secondary education studies.The school, originally funded by the government of the Republic of China, is the first Chinese school in the Americas.
