Zeithain is a municipality in the district of Meißen, in Saxony, Germany. Historically, it is known for the Zeithain Encampment (Zeithainer Zeltlager or Zeithainer Lustlager), which was a huge agglomeration of tents and troops, involving the whole 27,000-men-strong army of August the Strong. This event took place from 1 to 26 June 1730.During World War II, a large prisoner-of-war camp, Stalag IV-B/H, was located in Zeithain. A memorial and museum commemorate it.The first encounter of US and Soviet troops on German soil occurred on Elbe Day, 25 April 1945, at 12 p.m. on the banks of the Elbe in the village of Lorenzkirch, Zeithain. There is a memorial stone commemorating this event.

The Sachsen Arena (often styled SACHSENarena) is a sports arena in Riesa, Germany. It opened in 2004. Under a sponsorship deal in effect until 2012, it was originally named Erdgas Arena. It holds 5,500 people. It is primarily used for ice hockey. It is used for many world level dance competitions called the World Dance Championships run by the International Dance Organization, including a showdance and tap dance competition in which representatives of as many as 50 different countries vie to become "World Champion". This is the only official world championships and is recognized as being "the Olympics of dance". Since 2015, it has also been the home of the International Darts Open, one of the many events of the PDC European Tour.

Proschwitz is a small village, part of the municipality of Meißen in Saxony, Germany. The nearby Proschwitz Castle is a property of Prince Georg of Lippe-Weissenfeld and is a winery. Besides wine production, the castle is open for concerts, balls, banquets, conferences and weddings. During World War II there was an ammunition factory there.
