Marum (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈmaːrʏm] ) is a town and a former municipality in the northeastern Netherlands. The municipality was merged into the municipality of Westerkwartier on 1 January 2019.

Noordwijk (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈnoːrt.ʋɛi̯k]; Gronings: Noordwiek) is a small village in the municipality of Westerkwartier, in the province of Groningen in the Netherlands, about 3 km north of the town of Marum. Until 2019, it was part of the municipality of Marum. As of 2021, it had a population of 225.The name Noordwijk is said to have been derived from a neighborhood north of Marum. Noordwijk is located at a junction whose street names indicate the direction: Noorderweg, Westerweg and Oosterweg. The church of Noordwijk dates from the early fourteenth century. The church is now owned by the Stichting Oude Groninger Kerken ('Old Groninger Churches Foundation') and has recently been restored. The Leedaanzeggerspad runs from the mortuary behind the church, a walk during which the history of the village in the nineteenth century is discussed.

The village is located between Marum and Boerakker. As of 2021, it had a population of 195.Just south of the region, on the Dwarsdiep, is a nature reserve in the Oude Riet polder. This is a popular place, especially for bird watchers.

Wijnjewoude (West Frisian: Wynjewâld) is a village in the municipality of Opsterland in the east of Friesland, the Netherlands. It had a population of around 2,025 in January 2017. The villages of Duurswoude and Wijnjeterp were founded in the late Middle Ages next to one-another. After World War II the villages started to expand, and merged into a single village called Wijnjewoude in 1974.

Doezum is a village in the municipality of Westerkwartier in the Dutch province of Groningen. It had a population of around 725 in January 2017.

Een-West is a hamlet in the Netherlands. It is part of the Noordenveld municipality in Drenthe. Een-West is a statistical entity, and has its own postal code. however it is considered part of Een and outside the build-up area. The area used to be close to uninhabited, but had a strategic value. In 1593, the stadtholder William Louis of Nassau built a sconce at Zwartendijksterschans on road between Friesland and Drenthe through the moorland. Later the sconce deteriorated and the area became part of Drenthe. The sconce was restored in 1980. In 1928, a little church was built in Een-west.

Ureterp (West Frisian: Oerterp) is a village in the municipality of Opsterland in the east of Friesland, the Netherlands. After Gorredijk it is the second largest village of the municipality with a population of around 4,785 in January 2017.

Niebert (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈni.bɛrt]; Gronings: Nijbert) is a village in the municipality of Westerkwartier in the province of Groningen in the Netherlands. As of 2021, it had a population of 745.

Haulerwijk (West Frisian: Haulerwyk) is a village in the municipality of Ooststellingwerf in the east of Friesland, the Netherlands. In 2017, it had a population of around 3,300.The village was first mentioned in 1844 as Haulerwijk, and means "canal of Haule". Haulerwijk started as a peat colony of the Drachtster Company along the Haulerwijkstervaart which was dug 1756. The Dutch Reformed church dates from 1852. In 1840, Haulerwijk was home to 69 people.
