Hosena (Sorbian: Hóznja) is a borough (Ortsteil) of the town of Senftenberg in Brandenburg, Germany. Hosena is located in Upper Lusatia not far from the Senftenberger See. Hosena station is at the junction of the Węgliniec–Roßlau railway and the Lübbenau–Kamenz railway.

Hosena station (Hohenbocka station until 2000) is a station at the junction of the Węgliniec–Roßlau railway and the Lübbenau–Kamenz railway. The station is located in the southeast of the German state of Brandenburg in the village of Hosena, north of the village of Hohenbocka. The station was built in 1873 as a “tower station” (German: Turmbahnhof, a two level interchange station) on the Lübbenau-Kamenz and Węgliniec (then called Kohlfurt)–Roßlau railways. Remains of the railway bridge of the Lübbenau-Kamenz line still exist.

Lake Senftenberg (German: Senftenberger See, formerly called Speicherbecken Niemtsch—Niemtsch reservoir, Upper Sorbian: Złykomorowski jězor, Lower Sorbian: Złykomorowski jazor) is an artificial lake in Landkreis Oberspreewald-Lausitz, Brandenburg, Germany. It is located in the Lusatian Lake District, a chain of artificial lakes. The lake is located on the border of Lower and Upper Lusatia between the southern Brandenburg city of Senftenberg and its districts Niemtsch and Großkoschen. Lake Senftenberg is one of the largest artificial lakes in Germany with an area of 1300 hectares.

Schönteichen is a former municipality in the district of Bautzen, in Saxony, Germany. Schönteichen was created in 1994 by the merger of nine formerly independent municipalities. It was merged into the town Kamenz in January 2019. Schönteichen is a small community between the Upper Lusatian heath and the pond area of the Westlausitzer hills and mountains. With its nine districts - Biehla, Brauna, Cunnersdorf, Hausdorf, Liebenau, Petershain, Rohrbach, Schönbach and Schwosdorf - it covers an area of almost 45 km², surrounded by larger forest areas and nestled in a charming pond landscape. The municipality has its name from the countless ponds in the towns, which decisively shape the landscape.

On 8 November 1940, a Deutsche Lufthansa Junkers Ju 90 passenger aircraft crashed near the municipality of Schönteichen, Germany, killing all 29 people on board.The aircraft, registered D-AVMF and named Brandenburg, was en route from the German capital Berlin to Budapest, Hungary when ice formed on its tail, causing the airplane to lose control and crash. At the time, the accident was the worst one on German soil.
